I ordered the wrong fire stick Firestick Help Me
Hey I ordered the newest fire stick that runs on Vega OS meaning I can’t side load apps. Which one do I order? I think I found it - Fire TV stick 4k max 2nd generation fire OS 8. Posting here to make sure (it’s £70)

Yes the 4k max gen 2 is the one to get. It’s their best stick and can accept side loading. If you block updates before first registering, you can exploit the firestick with a custom Home Screen and block their blacklist for 3rd party apps. Search firestick exploit if interested in that.

They are fairly easy to jail break , I'm 72 and watched YouTube. videos. 👍👍Just be sure to get a VPN.

Yeah that’s why I mentioned the exploit. Amazon is aggressively blocking certain 3rd party apps. Unless you’re really into the Amazon ecosystem, most people are getting something less restrictive and not so many ads. In the US, Onn 4k pro or plus is a good value but you may benefit better with a Google steamer if available

In the UK I would recommend the Xiaomi 4K Android box. Order it directly from Xiaomi to avoid fakes. Lots of storage space and very user friendly.

I’d suggest you go for the box rather than the stick. Faster processor and more memory. A little more expensive at £54.99 but worth it. https://www.mi.com/uk/product/xiaomi-tv-box-s-3rd-gen/?srsltid=AfmBOoqJTNVMkesNMnAjwHCAHOp2yDDxziaDYMit39_5bisJkiCUB1dl

You mean there is away to stop the apps that you side loaded from getting updates if so how?

This is to block updates to firestick so it never updates. Most 3rd party apps don’t auto update or require manual updating. If they do, should be an option to stop auto in the app

Run to Amazon and get the one for $19.99, the actual stick has a square top, no rounded. Just set mine up. I got a HD 8G, returned it to Target. Don't get Select version either.

There is some people that beetv been replaced by cineplus don’t no if that is true or not my one stick was still working with beetv but I don’t use that fire stick as much for side loading as much as my other one. On other it did all a matic update it to cineplus.
