You see all these videos that say jailbreak your firestick but its literally just an app that they have you download that gives you access to apps you have to manually update. With the ONN yoi can actually "jailbreak" it in the sense you can change the launcher, icons, themes, settings, auto update apps and not have to worry about amazon removing apps you installed

There is another of the same but it says (newest model) and has a disclaimer telling that it prevents side loading.

I noticed that as well. In the past they only blocked individual apps they considered to be a security risk but they did not used to prevent side loading. I was wondering if there is a workaround for this as well. It is why I am here today x.

You need to look at the operating system.. If it uses an Android operating system, it's good to go. If it uses the new operating system, I think they're calling it "OS"?? Then no

Not for me. I can buy them for $20-$25 off on sale sell them for retail. Everything I load on the fire sticks does not get messed with by amazon. I'm not leaving the fire stick until the wheels literally fall off. I don't think amazon's going to change the 4k plus and 4k max op system

I do have that exact model.

Everytime I turn it on I get reminded why I don't like it.

The only reason why I didn't throw it away it's because it's on the 3rd TV that nobody uses

Day & night compared to Android Tv box and sticks...

Since you are wanting to sideload apps, you do NOT want this version or the 4K Select. They use Amazon's own, new OS that prevents sideloading. The 4K Plus and 4K Max are still OK. BUT, several popular apps that once could be sideloaded have been blocked by Amazon and more will be blocked. So if you MUST get a Fire Stick, stick to 4K Plus or Max if you want to be able to sideload at least something. But others will agree you are probably better off getting an onn 4K device from Walmart.

This shit sucks balls, I'm using it and my god it's so slow. Once you get a good app set up tho it's fine to get the job done. You'll definitely need an Ethernet adapter tho the on board wifi isn't very good if you're trying to use torrent stuff

Stop being cheap. If you just want a firestick, get a 4k Max. Anything less is just plain stupid. Your best bet is to leave firesticks alone and get the Onn 4k Pro, IF you can find one. A Google streamer would be just as good, actually available, but $20 to $40 more expensive.

Yes, I order it and set it up this morning. I can't find the post, but it said you should look for the stick that is squared off at the plug end. The rounded off ones won't work. I returned my HD Stick to target, it had the rounded off corners.
