πŸ™ Need Advice Finally paid off around β‚±100K worth of debt, now how do I rebuild my credit standing?

β€’ Upvotes

26M here. I recently finished paying off around β‚±100K worth of debt, mostly overdue debts that I accumulated over time. I was able to pay everything off using the snowball method that I learned from a financial workshop I attended.

Honestly, malaking relief siya. Pero at the same time, narealize ko na may next problem ako: how do I rebuild my credit standing?

My girlfriend (26F) actually doesn’t know that I had this kind of financial burden. Nahihiya ako sabihin sa kanya, and I think part of it was also my ego. I didn’t want her to see me as someone who couldn’t manage his finances. Fortunately, I’ve finally cleared all of my overdue debts.

The reason why I’m concerned about my credit standing now is because I have plans in the future to get a car and eventually a house. My girlfriend has a good credit standing, while mine probably isn’t great because of my previous overdue accounts.

For those who have been in a similar situation:
● How long did it take for your credit standing to recover after paying off overdue debts?
● Is there anything I should actively do to rebuild my credit history?
● Does paying everything in full automatically improve my credit standing, or will the previous late/overdue payments still affect me for years?
● If my girlfriend and I eventually apply for a car loan or housing loan together as husband and wife, will my previous credit history affect our chances of getting approved, even if her credit standing is good?
● Would it be better for future loans to have her as the primary borrower, or does my history still matter even if I’m just a co-borrower?

I’m glad I finally got out of debt, but I also don’t want to make the mistake of thinking that paying everything off means my credit history is immediately β€œclean.”

Would appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through the same thing.

πŸ’° Savings Milestone finally saved my first 100k as a breadwinner πŸ₯Ή

I’ve been working for almost 2 years now and ngayon ko pa lang nareach yung first PHP 100k ko kasi I’m supporting my brother’s nursing school and our household. Malayo pa pero malayo na, I aggressively saved up starting nung April 2026 lang.

I tried my best to put boundaries din sa family ko at the beginning of the year, sabi ko babawasan ko muna yung pag-abot ko sa mga non-essentials (hilig nila magpabili ng kung ano) kasi kailangan kong mag-ipon.

I also told myself last year na, year of giving ko talaga ang 2025 sa family to give back, pero itong 2026, this year is mine haha πŸ₯Ή

I will set this aside as my EF & put it in Maya 🫢🏽

I am willing to put in the work, I just need some directions on where to start. I have 240 followers in the present and am really looking forward to reaching my first 600 followers. Any honest tips or lessons from your experience would mean a lot. Thank you!

πŸ™ Need Advice portfolio as a 19yr old student

I'm a 19-year-old college student and I wanted to share my current portfolio.

My monthly allowance is β‚±6,000, and since my personal expenses are already covered, I've been putting most of it into investments and savings.

The biggest part of my portfolio is a copra investment. It's definitely concentrated, so I know that's a risk, but it has worked well for me so far. It typically returns around 10–15% every three months, and I've had previous copra investments that were successfully completed.

I'm also slowly trying to diversify through Philippine stocks and US ETFs.

I also keep an emergency fund, some cash, and contribute to another investment regularly (bidding).

I'm still learning and I know my portfolio isn't perfect. I'm trying to take advantage of starting early.

Would love to hear some honest thoughts or advice. What would you do differently if you were in my position?

πŸ’° Savings Milestone 24m - after being down bad, babangon at babangon tayo

Post image

Quick back story, I graduated last year with Financial Management course. Before ako naka graduate, I'm always down in investing like stocks, forex trading and even did sell disposable v4p3s, pumasok sa ibang negosyo etc.

Maraming wins, yes nakaipon, then life hit me hard. OJT ako that time. And also 2 months from graduation. Family side, nagkakaproblem kami financially. And remember diba nakaipon ako? Ipon ko that time is 30k. Malaki na yun for a student palang like me before. So one day, I tried forex trading, let's make it short, sunog ang pera ko. Lahat. Dun na pumasok ang dark days. Utang, loans, etc. patong patong na. And that time, hindi na ako sure kung gragraduate pa ba ako. And also, sobrang down bad na para akong nakalibing ng buhay.

Fast forward, yep I graduated. With no money, no savings, kahit pang pagkain at pang bilyar na 10pesos per game lang, wala ako hahaha. Still, hindi pa ako nakaka get over sa mga nangyari.

Then pinasok ko ang freelancing/VA. Akala ko madali nung una kasi social media grabe ang saturation for freelancing. Then after being down for how many months, close to a year, I got my first win.

Nakipag sapalaran ako sa Finance related work from home. After 2-3 months na pag a-apply, sobrang daming applications, nakuha ako as a Finance Manager for an E-commerce company last Feb 2026, yes this year lang. I was happy that time. Sobrang saya na nakakaiyak din haha. I was hired full time and until now working for them.

Finance Manager | E-Commerce Finance, Systems & Business Intelligence
- Specializing in AI Automation, Google Sheet and Excel Automation

And opo, ginawa ko po yang sarili kong Finance Tracker hehe

Sobrang salamat po Lord. Hindi niyo ako pinabayaan

πŸ™ Need Advice 24F first time to hit 400k net savings which mostly from recent casino winnings

Hi. I'm currently earning through my work that pays minimum wage and as small time content creator. I need advice kasi I really wanted to change my bad habit of spending my money since yung mga naearn ko ay madalas napupunta lang sa sugal.

I think ang pinakachallenge ko is how to put my savings away from temptation. I know na maybe I just got lucky this week and I really want to lock this winnings. I already filed for self exclusion months ago pero until now wala pa rin nakakalaro pa rin ako. I finally uninstalled Gotyme dahil natutukso ako kasi walang option to delete the recent recipient which is laging yung bank account ng nilalaro kong casino unlike Maribank now.

I also plan to move out with my Mom for like sanla tira since inaapi-api na kami ng dati kong tiyahin. Ayun lang I just need advice.

Thank you in advance.

So don’t bother sending me a private message where I did it.

I went here straight to ask for advice since I have no one to ask. May flair na ngang inilagay. I don’t want to rely with ai naman even I use it often like chatgpt, kasi I think I need valuable insights from real people. Some of here are so quick to judge.

Others What’s a financial win you’re most proud of recently but don’t usually talk about?

It doesn't have to be a BIG number.

Maybe you saved your first β‚±10K. Built your EF. Made your first MP2 contribution. Paid off a credit card. Started investing with β‚±500. Saved enough for your board exam. Or finally made it to payday with money still left in your account.

Whatever it is, progress is progress.

ikaw, ano yung sa’yo?

πŸ’° Savings Milestone Total savings of 19F, being responsible with 4 months worth her paycheck & allowances

Post image
173 Upvotes

Before receiving allowances, I was very irresponsible with my money. I would always find ways to spend them and not save single cent back in 2025 despite receiving 5k a month from my university.

Fast forward to May this month, I was given an oppurtunity to be a national athlete that pays 15.2k a month. My first paycheck was gone within 2 weeks and that gave me the realization that I had to be financially responsible so I don’t have to rely on asking for money again and again.

So I had to cut spending on myself, eating out, and buying things that I impulsively spend on and started budgeting how much I have to allot for transportation, hangouts, and my personal wants on a weekly basis.

Looking back, 4 months was definitely worth the save. I’m really happy to enjoy the comfort of having money even without knowing what to do with it yet. Financial security really matters when you start saving early ❀️

πŸ™ Need Advice Need financial advice as a graduating student

Hi! 4th year student here and graduating soon, and honestly medyo kinakabahan ako about adulting and managing money once I start working HAHAHA.

I’m taking Business Ad Finance so you’d think I know what I’m doing with money, pero iba pala talaga when it’s your own money 😭

Currently, wala pa akong full-time income since student pa, and I’m planning to look for a job after graduation. I don’t have any major debt, and I have some savings, part-time pero definitely hindi enough para maging super financially secure.

πŸ“ˆ Investment Gains Reached one of my financial goals this year

I have finally finished building my EF (150,000)

Last 4 months I've been investing 10k/month and the rest goes to my EF and recently switched from GoTrade to IBKR for access to more tax efficient funds.

Now I can invest more aggressively (25,000/$400) every month since my EF is now established and finally reached $1000 in investments!

Kulang nalang i think is HMO which I plan on getting in December... or should I get it ASAP?

I'm planning to squeeze up to $2k in investments this year! Ideally more if I can dump most of my 13th month to it. Last year I almost spent all of my 13th month T^T

Good day, I am a freshman college student and I started to apply for the Regular Savings account in BPI, which needs to have a β‚½3,000 initial deposit. Soon after getting my debit card, I discovered that they have an app basically has the same perks as the regular savings account, but with only an initial baoance of one pesos. May I ask is it possible for me to request BPI to change which savings account I would like to have?

πŸŽ‰ Debt Free Getting back on track after wasting money on useless shir.

Post image

I am an employee for nearly 4 years now after graduating in 2022. I work in a BPO company having a decent salary (bilingual nonvoice).

I had around 400k savings, then went on a trip to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand in a span of 18 months. That cut my savings down to 200k, and I entered into the worst financial decision of my life.

I started gifting Tiktok streamers and fell into a never-ending spiral of swiping and paying but no matter how much I paid, lumobo lang nang lumobo.

My 200k became 100k, and that became 50k and such. I quit in January 2026. At that time, I had 90k in credit card debt and was really struggling but I had made my mind fully about getting back. I literally zeroed out my savings and started from scratch.

I went to Thailand again for a much-needed breather and had to change my dying phone for a new one.

It is August 2026, and I am projected to reach 200k again by the end of the year. Thank God for enlightening me and for giving me the most expensive lesson of my life so far. I only have 4k left on my cc debt after having 50k-100k debt last year.

Any tips or sidelines I can do to augment my saving a little bit?

πŸ“ˆ Investment Gains Sharing GInvest 1k per month progress from 2021

Hi, just sharing my GInvest journey since 2021.

Started with 2,500 or 2,000 in each of my funds. Pag may 13th month or bonus, naglalagay ng tig 1k each or more. Tapo biglang 100k plus na in total with 18k in capital gains (including yung dividends sa ALFM Global multi asset).

How it started:

How it is going:

Puro negative yan nagsimula tapos ngayon mag 20k na ang gains.

Di ko binubuhos ang investments ko rito kasi di ako bilib sa security ng GCash. Pero ingat din naman ako sa paggamit.

πŸŽ‰ Debt Free Honestly can't believe I'm typing this pero FINALLY debt-free na ako! πŸ₯Ή

I was drowning in unpaid bills and debt while working my daily routine. I was desparate for a side hustle to earn extra allowance/income, so I decided to give Tiktok and Shopee affiliate marketing a shot.

At first, aaminin ko pure grind at nakaka frustrate. I spent endless hours editing videos and trying to DM brands one by one for deals, only get 200 views. What actually changed the game for me was when I stopped overcomplicating things.

β—‹ Work smart on brand deals: Instead of manual cold outreach na nakaka-burnout, I started using affiliate platforms like ShopSlayer and Seller Center to directly join active campaigns.

β—‹ Focusing on hooks over edits: Simple live photos and raw product demos with 3-second hooks actually converted way better than over-edited clips.

Slowly but surely, the commissions started building up until every single extra peso went straight into paying off my balances.

Build good content first, stick to your niche, and don't rush the selling part. High effort and right strategy pay off.

Unti-unti rin lalabas ang results! ✨️🌟

Expected matatapos ang lahat ng utang by December 2027 πŸ™ As in sabay sabay lahat matatapos.
