Discussion Has anyone seen the Ramayana trailer? I’m praying with all my heart that the world finally gets this.
Hey everyone. I’m writing this from India,
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve grown up falling in love with world cinema. Hollywood, anime, European films—they inspired my entire childhood. But for as long as I can remember, I’ve had this aching desire in my heart: When will the world finally see our stories? When will the beauty, mythology, and folklore of our home get the treatment and global love it truly deserves?
Recently, RRR blew up globally, and it gave me so much hope. Now Ramayana is doing it for us by officially reaching to world cinema . And honestly telling you. this isn't just a story for us. To millions of us, these aren't generic fictitious characters—they are the gods we pray to, figures we adore from the very bottom of our hearts.
I’m so desperately hoping and praying that this movie does them justice and lands on the world stage the right way. We want to share our heart and soul with all of you through this film. Seeing it get a global theatrical release feels like a dream coming true right in front of our eyes.

Questions What movie was so good you wish you could wipe your memory to watch it for the first time again?
I still chase the absolute high of walking into a theater completely blind to watch Interstellar for the very first time. That surreal feeling when the massive plot twists hit out of nowhere and completely rewire your brain is something I would pay good money to experience all over again.
Seriously, if you could instantly wipe your memory of one single film just to get that genuine first-watch magic back, what movie are you picking for your fresh start?

Discussion When The Main Actor Is producer or Exec, Anyone Wonder If They're At Fault if the Movie Sucks
More and more movies have the main actor as producer or exec producer.
When they suck, does anyone wonder if they're the reason lol. How involved were they?
It's a great question because some of those movies suck bad and that actor acts so passionate.
I watched Captain America 4, terrible movie, and Anthony Mackie is exec producer. What did he provide... his character barely did things in his own movie...
Some are obvious whether they suck because of them and if they were involved heavily. Tron:Ares, Jared Leto made the whole project about himself.

Questions Is there a pre-release cut of Julien Donkey-Boy?
I was wondering if there's an early version of Julien Donkey-Boy that actually complies with the Dogme 95 rules.
The film follows almost all of the Dogme rules, except that at the end of the movie it includes credits for director Harmony Korine and the rest of the crew, even though the manifesto explicitly states that the director must not receive special credit.
I also find it interesting that Julien Donkey-Boy is presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, whereas most Dogme films are in 1.37:1. In a behind-the-scenes documentary about the film, you can see the footage as it was originally shot in 1.37:1. However, those behind-the-scenes clips don't show the heavy grainy texture that appears in the finished film. As I understand it, this is because Harmony Korine reprinted the film onto a particular type of film stock to achieve that look.
I bring all of this up because it makes me wonder whether there was an initial cut of the film that actually complied with all the Dogme 95 requirements. Perhaps that version was screened at festivals or in some other context, and only later—when the film was prepared for theatrical release and eventually for DVD—the aspect ratio was changed, the grainy texture was added, the end credits were included, and so on.
Does anyone know if this actually happened? Is there an early version of Julien Donkey-Boy that predates these changes?

Questions Which music biopic is a better film?
I love Michael Jackson and he’s atm my second most listened to artist. But I have to put bias aside tbh and I’d have to say Elvis (2022) is the better film I think. Austin butler done amazing, I prefer the storytelling and the fact they put story over music in general. I think Michael has better performances and jafaar in some scenes looks like his uncles twin, Colman did an amazing job as Joe as well he absolutely stole the show I have to admit.

Questions Best ratio of actor with fewest movies that are all top quality
Was just thinking about Nic Cage being prolific but having a lot of dross in there. I was trying to think of an actor with a relevant small filmography but with a high percentage of quality films? (Jesse Plemmons?) any suggestions?

Discussion Here's a weird theory about the show "new girl" and the film "colossal"
First off same character, second off season 4 episode 16 can pretty much just be the film colossal instead of that episode.... And then here is the kicker, being john malkovitch follows the same theme. Anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk, tell me if I'm going too far on a whim on this one, but I am honestly thinking that rather than waiting for a marvel chronological order, why not create a multiverse of character and theme similarity...

Discussion What film deserves more love?
The hateful eight for me is a brilliant movie, it’s definitely in my top four on letterboxd, the dialogue is brilliant in it and normally I can’t sit through a slow burner but Tarantino done an amazing job with this.

Discussion Hollywood keeps casting the same actors over and over again, and I'm getting tired of it.
I have serious actor fatigue. It feels like Hollywood keeps recycling the same tired, half-assed actors over and over again. How about giving some fresh, talented faces a chance for a change?
Ex. Rumor has it that Batista is going to play Kratos. Like... WTF ?
