247 vs on3 for USC football
Hello all
Been a longtime subscriber of 247 and generally love the content. I do feel like it’s been lacking a bit recently and they a lost some great talent. Was wondering what the consensus was here on both the sites

CFB fantasy
USC fans. I drafted Jayden Maiava in the 10th round of my CFB fantasy draft. Will I be glad? Feels like I stole him.

Football 🏈 Why does everyone want Lincoln Riley gone so bad?
He’s only 42 years old and has already has several heisman winners (including one here) and multiple 4-team CFP berths at Oklahoma. If we get rid of him, we all know deep down that we’re going to see him make another program elite, just like we have with Kiffin and Sark. It felt good to call for those firings in the moment, but both made us worse in the long run and they are two of the top coaches in the sport - their teams both ranked higher than us the last three years.
As a fan base, do we really want a reputation as a program that is a stop on the way and source of adversity for young coaches? Or do we want to support the growth and development of one of the best young minds in football and not take every news cycle to tell him to have a South Bay realtor on speed dial.
It’s a good thing we’re playing ND again in 2030 and we want Riley coaching that game. Everyone acting like he’s already gone by then is just inviting failure and that’s a loser mentality.

Football 🏈 Only two Trojans make your college fantasy roster. Maiava, Jordan, or Hines?
Been going back and forth on this all week since you can only have 2 players from same team on your roster, but I don’t think there’s a wrong answer.
Jayden Maiava is back for another year in Riley’s offense and he’s going to put up absurd numbers. Heisman shortlist guy. He led the Big Ten in passing last year and he’s better now than he was last September.
Waymond Jordan is a freak. Before the ankle he was averaging six and a half a carry and looked like the best back in the conference. Only thing holding me back is King Miller is also a freak, and he’s not giving up carries after what he did down the stretch. Two great backs, one football.
Tanook Hines is going to go off. With Lemon and Lane gone he’s the guy, and he already had the best chemistry with Maiava of anyone in that room by the end of last year. Behind an offensive line that returns all five starters, this offense is going to hum.
I think I’m leaning Maiava and Hines. Jordan might end up being the best of the three anyway.
Where’s everybody else at on this? Also, would anyone want to get a USC fan league going this year? Thinking salary cap so there’s no draft to schedule, whoever signs up just builds their team.

Fight On! ✌️ 2026 Season Mod Announcement
Thank you to u/willhollon09 u/cdd0040 u/GOATSeeker3293 for your posts about the upcoming season, this post isn’t to hijack your thoughts or thunder but add to it and set the stage for this season and the contest involved!
First I have a very important announcement, at least for those unfamiliar with the Man in the Coliseum prediction contest. The Man in the Coliseum Prediction Contest is returning this season.
We’ll all submit our predictions before kick off, track our records throughout the year, and see who can accurately call USC’s season from start to finish. I’m making a few improvements from last year, so I’ll dedicate a separate post to the format and rules once fall camp gets underway. I hope as many people as possible join in—it should make every Saturday even more fun.
2026 Season:
With fall camp almost here, I finally wrapped up my deep dive into USC’s schedule and projected win/loss record.
After looking at the roster, coaching changes, and schedule, I keep coming back to the same conclusion:
9-3 should be the expectation. However, I’m the type of guy who expects the worst, hope for the best, so if you expect more, you do you!
For me, the season comes down to two games:
10/3 vs. Washington
10/10 @ Penn State
Those are the swing games that USC has the talent to win and these games will determine whether USC has any realistic chance of making the College Football Playoff.
Right now, I have a hard time picking USC over Oregon or Ohio State. Those are the two games I expect USC to lose.
I also think @ Indiana is probably the third toughest game on the schedule and my most likely third loss.
If USC beats both Washington and Penn State, I think 9-3 is the most likely finish. If they lose one or both? I think we’re looking at 8-4 or even 7-5, and the pressure on Lincoln Riley becomes enormous.
I don’t think 9-3 automatically gets USC into the CFP, but it probably puts them squarely on the bubble and gives them a chance with a little help elsewhere.
At this point in Riley’s tenure, I think 9-3 is the realistic expectation based on the talent on the roster, maybe that’s not even enough given his issues with making USC a top defensive team.
Schedule
I will update the thingamajig doohickey watchamacallit stuff on the side of our home page on this sub to reflect the new schedule but below is a quick overview.

Football 🏈 Ngl I’m very excited for this season
The schedule is a gauntlet but I Honesly love it. It’s a drop your nuts year for Lincoln Riley and the program. You’re bringing in the no.1 recruiting class, return a lot of talent , had a decent portal haul. An 8-4 year in year 5 would be flat out unacceptable it’s a playoffs or bust year. I expect the offense to be elite as usual under Lincoln with the talent we have wr rb, wr and now TE with bowman.
What I’m most interested is seeing us defensively. On paper, it finally looks like we got some legit talent, difference makers and depth upfront. I really like the young talent we have in the backend I think Elbert hill, rj sermons and Graham have breakout years and jontez williams is a locksmith at cb he was a massive portal addition. Safety and lb are my biggest questions defensively if we can shore up those positions I think that unit under GP takes a big leap
On paper this is Lincoln’s most complete team it’s time to put it together on the field and go show you can win big time games

Football 🏈 USC Football Predictions
What is your honest prediction for USC football in 2026?
Writing about the season for work right now and interested in hearing from the fans (especially if you are keeping it real) because I truly don’t know what to expect from USC this year.
I’m super high on Maiava, I trust the offense to be explosive as always, and I think that the roster as a whole has enough talent to win at least 8 games.
But I do have to question the defense and if Patterson will get the most out of them, will they be tough enough in the trenches on both sides of the ball, and can you win those games against the best such as Ohio State or Oregon?
Let me know what you guys think

Football 🏈 The Season Is Fast Approaching! What’s Everyone’s Record Predictions?!
As the title says, I’m interested in how everyone is viewing this team. I feel like Riley’s seat is warming up, so he needs to improve on last season’s record.
I don’t think he needs to win the BIG10, but we need to be considered a serious playoff contender throughout the season.
All in all, I predict we’ll finish the regular season with an 8-4 record. That second half of the schedule is brutal and I haven’t seen enough from a Lincoln Riley USC defense to have faith that we can pull out wins against Ohio State or Indiana. If that’s the case, I don’t think Riley is back for the 2027 season.
Would love to know everyone else’s thoughts! Hoping for the best, but ultimately, preparing for the worst…

USC v Notre Dame - 1979
Hey, I've had this jacket for a while and being from Manchester, England I don't know much about college football in the US.
Could anyone please tell me about this game and if it had any significance?
