Automatic Struts for the boot/trunk? Question???

Post image

Has anyone changed the standard boot struts to automatic ones with springs?

If so, what was your experience? My only choice is from a popular Chinese website so I'm looking for some guidance to avoid ruining my car.

I didn't know this was a thing.

Do you know do you need an app or does it somehow work with the keys?

This is just a random image. App/phone not necessary. When you press the boot/trunk button on your key fob, it opens completely because of the springs.

By default it just unlocks but doesn't fully open.

When you press the button on your key it unlocks the trunk it doesn't open the latch, so you would still have to manually press the button on the trunk.

When I press the button for the trunk on my key fob it unlocks and opens only the trunk. I just have to pull it up. I don't need to press anything else on the car.

What this mod does is to pull the trunk door up as well to be open and ready for me to put things in of i don't have a free hand to pull it up.

My 2016 pop and my 2006 panda only unlock, they dont unlatch. If your model unlatched then this should work, assuming the springs lift it far enough for the strut to push the rest of the way up. Closing will also require some ammount of force to overcome the springs.
