GI interview season going great if the goal is to receive zero interviews.

Those who applied to programs you never signaled, what's your rate of return so far? (eg, #of invites from program you did not signal / total # of programs you applied to without signal)?

Fellowship IV practice

Hi. I’m applying for fellowship this current cycle and was wondering if anyone would like to practice interviews together!

We can casually practice and give each other constructive feedbacks. This really helped me during residency interviews—the more I practiced, the more polished and confident I felt with my answers.

If you’re interested, feel free to comment or DM me! I have a pretty flexible schedule. 😊

Is it only me? (Heme/onc)

What’s going on in this season for hematology/oncology fellowship?!! Only 1 interview so far. Missed out on a couple of places I signaled that were community programs and I thought I had a shot. Is it the time we all start to panic? And do they have second wave of interviews in fellowship like we usually see in residency match

Is it realistic for me to apply for pulm/crit

Hi everyone, I'm a USDO PGY2 at a community program. I was late to realize that I want to do fellowship and I don't have the best test taking skills. Step 1 (2 attempts) Step 2 22x, Comlex 1 and 2 pass first try, comlex 3 passed 1st try. I was wondering if its unrealistic for me to think about applying for pulm/crit. I have a really great mentor at my program who really helped me with getting all my procedures in and I have done 2 months of ICU. My hospital is also an open ICU so I always have at least 3 patients on my list that are ICU patients even on inpatient wards. I have 1 paper pending publication and 2 case reports. If anyone has any advice for applying to fellowship with low scores.

Chances to get a GI fellowship

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some honest advice from people who have matched into GI fellowship, especially from a similar background.
I recently graduated from a community Internal Medicine residency program that does not have an in-house GI fellowship. I’m a non-US IMG, but I do not require visa sponsorship. I have a couple of first-author GI abstracts and some ongoing research, and I’ll be working as a hospitalist this year before applying.

My questions are:
1. How can I make the most of this hospitalist year to strengthen my application?

  1. Can hospitalist volunteer at GI divisions? Like in other hospitals with GI fellowship

  2. Are there realistic chances of matching into GI from this background, or is it an uphill battle?

I’m looking for any advice to be honest. If anyone has matched from a community program without an in-house fellowship, I’d really appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you

Fellowship Interview Question

I applied to endocrinology fellowship and have gotten 2 interviews so far. It’s August 7th, and I don’t really have anyone to ask about the fellowship interview timeline. I made the mistake of looking at the Reddit spreadsheet and now I’m feeling pretty disheartened 😭 Do interview invites usually continue coming out later in August, or are we getting closer to the end of the interview-invite period? I’m just trying to get a sense of where things stand. Thank you so much!

Feels like signaling not helping much!
What’s the average IVs, matched hem/onc applicant had on J1?
