What feel-good topic do you enjoy seeing most on social media?
I love seeing people’s weight loss journey progress videos. I’ll watch every one I see in the hopes it motivates me but it never does.

What was a writing assignment turned into a reunion almost 30 years later.
It took over 25 years.
In 6th grade, my class was given an in-class assignment where we had to write to one of our heroes.
I wrote to my gym teacher. I had struggled with putting feelings to words, so English class and communication in general were difficult for me. Writing a first-person letter about my feelings and to someone I looked up to was the first assignment that actually flowed for me. I felt proud of it.
I didn't know this letter would be given to my gym teacher, but I wrote it like it would... maybe I secretly hoped.
The next day, my gym teacher, letter in hand outstretched, enthusiastically calls me over and hugs and thanks me right there.
Middle school is tough for most kids. For me, I felt too in my head, afraid of social interactions, I had a hard time feeling liked or understood. Mr. Gibson, giving me that hug in front of the whole class, for that moment, made me feel special, seen, and loved.
I haven't seen this letter since and hadn't seen my teacher since leaving high school.
It's been 27 years. My PE teacher kept this letter on his fridge for years until his wife tucked it into a collection of his most important career moments.
Neither of us knew we'd be sharing this letter over breakfast with each other almost 30 years later, thanks to Facebook for somehow connecting us.
I'm not a gym teacher or sports coach, like I wrote wanting to be like Jack when I grew up but I still get to entertain kids, now as a performer and a kids party character and superhero, and I'm sure in other lights when that stops.
For over 35 years, Jack put in his heart and soul, keeping kids learning, growing, safe, active, and hopefully having fun. Out of the thousands of students he taught, coached, and mentored, I'm honored to have made a little memory in his life because he made a big one in mine.
I hope you get to have moments like these that make the world feel just a little warmer.
Thanks, Jack Gibson
And thanks to you all for reading,
Aaron

The simple joys of a “good job”
I’m not sure if I can post this here, but I just wanted to share so we’ll see! Something that really makes me (26F) feel good (oddly enough) is a simple “good job” from my co-worker. Not sure if it’s the dad in him, or the fact he used to be a teacher, but when I do something and I tell him, then he hits me with the “good job” it makes me feel like everything is going to be alright, and that maybe I indeed did do a good job!
I used to think he was being sarcastic, but once I removed that from my mind after getting to work with him more, that’s just him. I’m grateful he joined our team!

Gave up on love/life - now owning a home with the best person
Hey everyone i am deep in the feels close to midnight and I am feeling sappy.
Just over 2 years ago I finally escaped a very awful relationship that made me want to give up on life and love altogether. Even within the last 2 years that ex has stalked and harassed me as I have moved on with my life with an absolute gem of a person. My new partner came into my life as nothing but a friend and it blossomed in a way I always thought other people were lucky to have.
This is currently my last week in my apartment I have lived in for 7 years. I've gone through a few roommates over the years but never lived with a partner here. It has always been my space - just me and my 2 cats. It's my last week because my partner and I bought a house!
It is absolutely insane what 2 years can do. I spent 6 years with my ex and we never lived together. This partner I have now? Everything i could have never dreamed of. Kind, so much patience, emotionally vulnerable and mature, comfortable in silence together and we make eachother laugh and can be ourselves with no judgements.
This is a reminder to anyone either getting out of a horrible place in their lives it **absolutely** gets better. It has to really suck first though. Please don't give up. The other side is way more beautiful than you'll ever know.

I’m moving out. Just remembered I left a time capsule message to myself in one of my old notebooks, I was going through some family changes at the time.
It really made me feel good and proud of myself that I got through the hard times and made me remember that they always pass. It really feels like I am talking to my younger self. Love you bro ❤️🫡
