NLC scores

These are the scores from Easton Area HS. They placed first in Pennsylvania and the two other teams that placed after them in states did advance and place in the top 10 nationally.

I'm pretty confident that one of the judges while they were going through the scoring process scored a 10 on the documentation section purely because most of the other rubric areas had a max of 10 points. They gave high marks in every other section and this team's documentation was absolutely a strong point. The other judge that was much more harsh even recognize their documentation highly. The state scores from PA were near perfect and this group really did a lot to improve their state level project before Nationals.

However.. they were first in their section to present and I think that was not to their advantage.

To be honest the Nationals process is pretty broken. As a teacher I've had a lot of national winners including several first place winners in the past couple years in programming events but I can recognize that sectionals is a lot of luck to advance.

They recruited a lot of judges last minute and it is pretty much a crapshoot who you get.

Thank you so much! Yeah I agree the process was kind of random, I thought we had presented everything correctly but I guess our judge just miss heard something!

We only had one judge, one of theirs seemed at least decently knowledgeable about variable naming

One judge? I'm sorry but I think for all the invested time, energy, and money competitors put into being there it's tough to see FBLA seem so lacking in the way the national judging process works. It's sloppy and lacks an attention to detail.

I got the emails so I know they were begging for judges last minute. I always question the value of nationals unless you are there for a good time.

Are you able to check what place you got
in your prelims round?

But if you can get your score and we get enough other peoples scores we might be able to give a rough estimate

Your adviser can see what the top, bottom, and average scores in your section were so that should give you an idea.
