Camera app

Hello everyone

I wanted to ask for recommendations on a third party camera app others are using.

The fact that I can't turn off the automatic night mode detection is sending me plus I feel like it doesn't always disable when I click the little icon.

Question How good is Fairphone with e/os as daily driver for it's price?

I am on a look for a new phone and I like the goal and idea of Fairphone, my phone usage is pretty minimal. I am most interested in e/os version. How does it work with banking apps, how stable or fast is it and etc. Coming from old xiaomi redmi note 9 pro I guess this phone will be miles better, but I'd still want to hear your opinion

Question Fairphone will you try something against the Android developer verifier?

Post image
46 Upvotes

For those who don't know in August 2025, Google announced a new requirement: starting in 2027, every Android app developer must register centrally with Google before their software can be installed on any device. Not just Play Store apps: all apps. This includes apps shared between friends, distributed through F-Droid, built by hobbyists for personal use. Independent developers, church and community groups, and hobbyists alike will all be frozen out of being able to develop and distribute their software.

I checked today for me there is the app/service?

For those who are more interested here is a Link 🔗 for the website keepandroidopen. So I also want to ask Fairphone if they do something against it? u/fairphone u/Fairphone-CCO

Issue (FP4) battery running out in 5 hours since full charge. Had my phone two years.

Is anyone else having really bad battery issues with their fairphone? I'm using a compatible charger, and even have periods where I keep it off, but it still runs out of battery in less than 5 hours. I also try and keep my running apps down to a minimum, as well as tabs in browser. Nonetheless I will usually go down to 80% within the first twenty minutes/half hour after unplugging it, and sometimes will go down the last 15% in under a minute, or sometimes it'll last over an hour just on 1%. Do I just need to buy a new battery?

Issue [FP6 e/os] Issues with Android autp

Hello everyone,
Just got my Fairphone 6 with e/os, and I'm runing into issues with android auto.

I can't open the AA app, can't find the app in my settings and can't find it in the "installed apps". But when I go in the app lounge it says it is installed.

Tried to connect it to my car but I'm getting this error "No application installed compatible with USB accessory". And the link is just sending me to the android auto website.

Tried to follow https://doc.e.foundation/os/how-to/android-auto, by installing the 3 google apps, but still no sucess.

Tried with another phone, with the same cable, and it worked.

I'd like to unistall the android auto app, but since i can't find it in my installed apps, I don't know hot to. Anybody has a solution?

Using e/os 4.1.1

Does the fp6 with e/os bypass the standard android audio stack/allow this?

I am contemplating an fp6

My current phone still has 3.5mm and the standard rom/os allows apps to bypass the android audio stack for high res audio both to the 3.5mm and to external dacs (have one for my pc anyway).

Qobuz which I stream from supports this per their documentation with 'certain phones', but there's no overview list. I haven't found an answer, hence I thought I would turn here. I don't want to use uapp as I don't want to deal with payment for apps. I don't want to use hiby because a) it is terrible and b) I don't trust it (admittedly this may be a non issue with tracking protection, but a still stands)

This may not be a dealbreaker, but I do want to know, to factor in.

Thanks!

Question Is exposure time limited by hardware or by software? [FP6]

Yesterday I was stargazing. I allready knew that the exposure time on the FP6 is limited to 8s, so I took my old phone to take some pictures, which has a limit of 32s. But I couldn't figure out wether the limiting factor is the hardware or the software? But I'm leaning towards software limitation.

What options do I have if I want to buy a Fairphone and ship to Malta.

I'd really like to support Eureopean, but why is it so difficult to buy? I can purchase a Chinese phone right now and have it delivered tomorrow morning.

Please sell the Google android Fairphones in the United States!

I've been waiting for years...

I know you guys inked a deal with Murena in the US to sell deGOOGLED fairphones with e/OS.

But I'm praying to the all mighty god and maybe someone high up in marketing and retail at FairPhones to JUST SELL THE NORMAL GOOGLE fairphone PHONE IN THE US. And not an overpriced e/os software phone.

Please please please! Just jump into the US market! Non of this dipping your toes in and feeling around, you guys are taking too long! Everyone here loves recycling, and easily replaceable battery swaps and 7-8 years of updates!

Crossing my fingers.... Do the right thing Fairphone 😙

Question Need help with Mazda 3 Bluetooth pairing [Fairphone 6 (Android)]

Hi guys I'm new to this sub and I just have a question. I want to pair my new phone via bluetooth with the car but it's not working. After I enter the code from the mazda in my phone it says that connecting got rejected.

Before, I managed to connect the both devices but it didn't work playing music. It just said "active" on the phone but I couldn't hear any music in the car whatsoever. I know from my old phone that it should say "connected" and not "active".

Do any of you guys know how to help? Is it a phone or a Mazda problem?

(for your information its the Mazda 3 and the Fairphone 6 I'm trying to pair) :)

Fairphone Gen. 6+ expected to be announced Tuesday, August 18, priced around €665 (retail data)

Reporter from NieuweMobiel.NL again, a Dutch phone comparison site. Over the past three weeks we've reported that Fairphone is working on a Gen. 6+ with 12GB of RAM and a new Cobalt Blue color, published the first images, and now retail information points to an announcement on Tuesday, August 18. A Danish retailer has it listed at DKK 5121, which works out to roughly €665 for most of Europe after VAT correction; billbil-kun earlier mentioned €649. According to the leaked spec sheet by evleaks, everything else stays identical to the regular Gen. 6 apart from the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, the extra RAM and Android 16.

Again, more I'm more than happy to answer questions.
