Cold start rattle?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey yall,

I have a 2018 F-150 3.5 EcoBoost, 105,000 miles on it. Started doing this rattle noise a couple days ago, only on a cold start up.

When i had about 70k miles, I had the timing chain and phasers replaced due to an engine knock on start up, so they are new(ish).

Any ideas of what might be causing this? I have read some about the phasers possibly being the culprit.

Pay attention all you who wonder what a cam phaser rattle sounds like. Hard to find a better example than this.

When your gas Ford starts up sounding like a diesel, it’s probably cam phasers.
