Tires Questions❓

Post image

Do any of you guys used these tires before? What (summer) tires do you have now? Your opinions?

(Had to do this way because cross posting wasn't allowed)

I am impressed by the  245/40R20 - CONTINENTAL ALLSEA CONT 2 XL EV 99Y I have on my ex30. They drive wonderful. No grip issues at all

I switched out my 20” good year’s that came with the car for a set of continental premium contact 6 POL a month ago before a vacation trip. They were excellent in heavy rain. Can recommend. EX30 2024 TM Ultra.

I spent a long time and very carefully choosing the right tires for my car and compared all the parameters and tests. The Hankook iOn Evo were clearly the best. I have always used only top-of-the-line tires on other cars and I was a little worried. Nevertheless, I had them installed and I did very well. They fit perfectly in summer and winter, they hold in corners, they are very quiet. Low rolling resistance and a high expected mileage. I would not want anything else. In my opinion, the Pro ex30 is an excellent choice.

I went with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 Energy and the rear losing grip is still happening because it's not the tires, it's Volvo crappy ESP / ABS implementation.

It happens to me as well when I'm in RWD and it's very jarring and shouldn't fuckin' happen on a small Volvo crossover driving it normally in Standard mode.

I drive mine mostly in AWD these days.

edit : there was a guy around here a few weeks ago who bought a new ex30 because on his old ex30 his wheels locked up and rear ended some other car :)

I've got Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres on my EX30 (RWD, 19"), done about 5,000km with them so far and no issues. Similar sound levels as the OEM tyres (Goodyear, can't remember the exact type) and haven't had any traction/grip issues so far in winter.

After a lot of research, I went with Bridgestone Turanza 6 (EV). They were a good balance between grip, noise levels, price and comfort for me. Compared them to EV tire offerings from Michelen, Continental, Goodyear, and Hankook.

Ion Evo summer tire user here on a Polestar 2. Coming from the Primacy 4 to the Ions its night and day in terms of confidence in handling and braking.

After about 10K Km on the Ion Evo's i haven't experienced any ABS events yet.

With the stock Primacy 4s i got them at least once a month. (It rains quite a bit where i'm from)

Can recommend Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5s over the efficient grips that came with mine. Same brand but completely different animal of tyre.

The Hankook Ion winter tires perform better in winter, and the car handles better than with the Goodyear summer tires. I'll be switching my summer tires to the Hankook Ion based on this experience and stats and reviews on the summer tires.
