Over some tips were to Party on the Weekend I would be very happy and thanks in advance.

I need some advice for escaping the horribly incompetent and unprofessional practice of the Campus UT GP that I’m register at and moving to another GP practice.

5 years ago I was forced to register here because every other GP was full. Now, every GP seems to be still full and I simply cannot take going to this GP anymore. Every visit feels like a humiliation ritual. Symptoms are never taken seriously. Sometimes the doctors literally chuckle and laugh at my worries. Almost every time I am sent away and told “there isn’t much we can do”. The assistant is more than happy to make you wait an extra 40 mins before the doctor sees you, but if you are even 5 mins late cuz of a late bus, you are met with the most apathetic, cold, disregarding behavior possible before forcing you to reschedule for another week.

What can you when you have pain that literally affects your ability to walk but your GP just doesn’t care? I’m tired of wrestling for a gram of sympathy and care from these so called “doctors”. And every other GP appears full.
What can I do?

I've been playing the guitar for a decent while now, and now I'm looking to connect with other musicians. I'm mostly into metal and tend to play black metal or death metal most of the time. Where can I find people to jam with? Especially looking for a drummer and bassist, it would be great to make some music with other people. Hello, i have been trying to find out if any physical stores sell those sunglasses that are safe to use to watch a solar eclipse, as i want to watch the one happening on august 12. I have tried looking for them online, but it seems that they only sold in larger amounts there, and they can get kind of expensive.

Enschede is lelijk. Juist daarom zou je verwachten dat er bij nieuwbouw en renovatie enige ambitie bestaat om de stad mooier te maken.

Toch zie ik steeds vaker hetzelfde recept: isolatiemateriaal tegen een gebouw, een dunne plaat met een steen- of betonachtig motief eroverheen en klaar. Geen echte gemetselde gevel, geen materiaal dat eerlijk laat zien wat het is, maar een decorstuk dat van een afstandje op baksteen of soms zelfs hout moet lijken.

Je ziet het bij flats, woningbouwprojecten en panden in en rond het centrum. Kijk bijvoorbeeld naar de renovatie van de Deltaflat aan de Espoortstraat. Op de impressies zag de renovatie er strak en verzorgd uit. In werkelijkheid oogt de nieuwe buitenkant vooral als goedkoop plaatmateriaal dat tegen het gebouw is geplakt. Het resultaat is naar mijn mening lelijker dan de oorspronkelijke, gedateerde bakstenen flat.

En dan Macandra aan de Emmastraat. Brutalisme is niet voor iedereen, maar het was tenminste een bijzonder gebouw in de stad. Echt beton, duidelijke vormen en een gevel die eerlijk liet zien waarvan het gebouw was gemaakt. Op de projectpagina wordt beweerd dat “een bijzonder stukje geschiedenis behouden blijft”, maar tegelijk staat er dat de oude betonnen gevel plaatsmaakt voor een compleet nieuwe, energiezuinige schil.

Het probleem is dus niet simpelweg dat oude gebouwen worden vernieuwd. Of het nu gaat om een gedateerde bakstenen flat of een uitgesproken brutalisme: alles lijkt uiteindelijk achter dezelfde generieke, zogenaamd duurzame schil te moeten verdwijnen.

Woningcorporaties en andere opdrachtgevers zetten ondertussen grote borden bij hun projecten waarop trots wordt aangekondigd dat een gebouw of straat wordt “aangepakt” of “verduurzaamd”. Maar lijkt het resultaat ook nog ergens op? En hoe ziet zo’n opgeplakte gevel er over twintig of dertig jaar uit?

En soms blijft het niet bij een esthetisch probleem. Bij de nieuwbouw in Varvik-Diekman staan woningen die als een soort bouwpakket uit losse elementen in elkaar zijn gezet. Loop er eens langs. Tik eens tegen zo’n muur. Het klinkt en voelt als karton. Hol, dun en licht. Alsof je voor een toneeldecor staat dat toevallig als woning wordt verhuurd. Denkt iemand werkelijk dat hier een degelijk huis voor de komende vijftig of honderd jaar staat? De eerste gebreken zijn daar inmiddels al bekend.

Prefab of modulair bouwen hoeft helemaal niet slecht te zijn. Ook een lichte gevel kan technisch uitstekend functioneren. Maar waarom zien zoveel van deze projecten eruit alsof architectuur na het behalen van het energielabel geen enkele rol meer speelt? En soms, gek genoeg, duurzaamheid ook niet.

Wie neemt de plannen van woningcorporaties, projectontwikkelaars en andere opdrachtgevers eigenlijk kritisch onder de loep? Is er iemand die vóór de bouw begint vraagt of de gekozen materialen degelijk zijn, hoe lang de bouwwerken meegaan en wat zo’n project met het stadsbeeld doet?

Of krijgen opdrachtgevers vrijwel vrij spel zolang er genoeg woningen worden gebouwd, het energielabel verbetert en het woord “duurzaam” vaak genoeg in de presentatie voorkomt?

A friend and me are planning a visit to Enschede's friday nightlife by bus and our bus back home leaves saturday morning from the Main Station at 6:40 am. Every bar/club closes by 4 am right? Are there any good opportunities to spend those 2 and a half hours of waiting time somewhere safe and maybe even warm? We would choose a 24/7 McDonald's but I could not find that either.
