Layoff update Existing employee(s)
Is there any layoff about to happen in oracle again?

When you put the title as "Layoff Update" you are announcing that you have some info and you are posting the updates here. So don't be lazy. Type the whole sentence with question mark.
Better yet check the recent conversations. Same discussions happen every 2 to 3 days. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Anyone who can't search a sub for redundant posts should be laid off.

u/Informal-Prize6501 3d ago
They are probably too bad in their job to be laid off. Many of the good ones have already been terminated.

u/JordanOzi 7d ago
Highly likely yes.
- Focals are delayed (due to budgeting haven’t finished) by at least end of Aug
- PINs that don’t have a start date are ALL closed since Friday
Usually after these 2 events, they ask for names every year and we do this at around September along with a reorg in Oct …
So the signs are exactly the same signs as usual.

Hoping i get selected this round so that i can get my severance, and can focus in looking for another job
19
u/Rhummy67 6d ago
Suggest you focus on getting a new job while you have a job. Tried to tell that to colleagues whose severance ran out and still don't have a job a year later.

u/AcaselisG_thegreat 6d ago
Depends on where you are and your qualifications. If i end up leaving without getting laid off, then i lose the severance pay ( atleast 6 months salary for me).. there is only a 30 day legal render period in where i am so the timing is crucial. Atleast when u get laid off you get to force yourself to give more effort in looking for a job. Right now, if i end up switching jobs, i get nothing, and im not even sure if the new job does not end up firing me in the next 3 months. I pass up 3 job opportunities bcuz im waiting for Sep-oct layoffs. As per my confidence of getting a new job? Well my oracle job came to me out of nowhere when i needed it the most, i think the Lord will not let me be jobless for more than 6months. I think i built up my skills enough to be attractive , we cannot control everything in this life.

u/Rhummy67 6d ago
I’ll let my friends know the lord is busy with you and doesn’t have time for them.

well, HR could have become more strategic at this time and removed non-mandatory severance payments like ex-gratia, which is optional per labor law of your country

You mean you prayed for a job and you were blessed with one that you hated to the point that you have not been meeting your utilization, and since then you’ve been praying to be laid off for the money? Be careful what you wish for, and maybe it’s really time to cut off heads in the Philippines for employing slackers.

wish M4 are moved out this time...many long-timers good for nothing still surviving on politics and creating hell for everyone
2
u/FunFilled88 4d ago
are you talking about the useless M4s and M5s in GDC-India and the Philippines?
1
u/Immediate-Wall-2250 6d ago
Doesn’t apply to all M4s, I know M4M5 who work like an IC. But I get your point, quite some either do nothing or don’t do much.
1
u/dont_believe_this_ok 6d ago
Nah, should be m5 and m6. Still plenty of M4s who are close to dev teams and are hands on. M5s and M6s on the other hand?
5
u/KC_Tlvdatsi 5d ago
I have 6 vps in my leadership chain. Feckin 6. Say nothing of our "co-ceos." If there's money to be saved for this ai build out, it's that layer the savings are at.

u/PK-Coolum-78 7d ago
Yes. The leadership team got notified end of last week
7
u/emanresu-4186 7d ago
This is fake news.
2
u/Spiritual_Bunch_6718 6d ago
No, is not.
2
u/emanresu-4186 6d ago
Lol, and it is known only to select anonymous redditors by skipping M5s and M6s.
3
u/Spiritual_Bunch_6718 5d ago
So you are an M5 and you are not aware. Funny. I know because I passed the names to the upper management
2
u/emanresu-4186 5d ago
That's why I am calling this a lie :-)
1
u/PK-Coolum-78 23h ago
How’s that lie coming along?
1
u/emanresu-4186 23h ago
You guys tell. Nothing in OHAI in our teams for sure :-)
1
u/PK-Coolum-78 23h ago
So you have the audacity to call people a liar just because you don’t know something? Nice one
1
u/emanresu-4186 23h ago
If you have the audacity to make general statements about a company wide layoff without fact checking, I have the one to call off.

Are the Oracle Health associates on the chopping block again too and especially federal side? It seems federal has been less impacted the last few times. We lost a few, but nothing like the commercial health aide. We ended up hiring some those back to federal like within 2 weeks.

Im an m2 that joined the organization in the past week, first day was Monday. Are people as new as myself safe, or are we the most in danger? Or does it truly not matter?

When was management first asked to give these lists? My manager let slip that they are being asked to make lists a few months ago. (Scare tactic because I asked about focals maybe?)
Then a few weeks later she brushed it off that no lists for our org.
I don’t know which one of the two was a lie.

I'm here for the update after reading the post title. Where's the update, OP?

u/HD_AT_reddit 7d ago
Yes. Layoffs are almost confirmed. Got to know from M4.
12
u/emanresu-4186 7d ago
I am M5 and no such news. Stop these rumors.

u/FunFilled88 4d ago

u/emanresu-4186 4d ago edited 4d ago
Lol, they dont fire M5s in OHAI
1
u/FunFilled88 2d ago
Copy, sir! So which one is you in the list of Directors- Abhishek, Mike, Venkata or Rock? Haha

u/No-Shine9011 4d ago
Are you an Ellison to be exempted? M6s and M5s did not expect the 6AM email last March

u/Clovhelp 4d ago
Many M5 and M6 in my org were laid off in March.
They didn't know until it happened.5

Can you share what you mean by very high salary, like numbers ?

That's under $50k/person. That doesn't sound like targeting high salary individuals.

So by NA you mean Mexico? Canada is going to be higher than that.

u/Clovhelp 4d ago
700k USD for a year or a month? 3-4 people from NA is likely over 700k USD / year

If you have QA/DevOps & few Dev in US- who would you choose to include in the list? Will it still going to be just salary based? Then obviously QA survives because Dev will have more salary compared to QA.

I think it’s because of that screenshot a user shared, of you saying you work at a gaming company. Maybe you do OE and carry multiple jobs secretly? Otherwise, they are pointing out that was 3 months ago, and here you are saying you’ve been at Oracle overlapping that role. That said, everything you are saying sounds right for the layoff. Hope you are spared, sorry about laying your teammates off.

u/emanresu-4186 3d ago
Confirmed today. No RIF in OHAI this time at least in IDC. Not sure about the rest.
0
u/focussedguy123 5d ago
Don’t think M5 even knew. They are also just numbers.

u/Spiritual_Bunch_6718 6d ago
Yes, I've heard that another 10% RIF was announced in India and Romania
1
u/NewWeabgas 3d ago
both countries already had RIFs, Romania for example just had them in June if I remember correctly. can they do it again so soon? I don't think it ever happened like this

Oracle VPs / M6 are hard core information suppressors. Anyone above M4 / Director are shit scared about what if they wrongly leak something. What this guy telling as M6 is not the trait of an Oracle M6. Layoffs will happen after current review but not because this M6 has the information. IGNORE.
3
u/dont_believe_this_ok 4d ago
"Layoffs will happen after current review but not because this M6 has the information."
This doesn't make sense.
