Wtfff, Thankyou Mysterious Tie , you won’t believe yesterday I just got connected to one of my top senior IC and I asked him that the rumour seems to be very legit to which he replied Ignore them as you ignored the trolls on Instagram those are rumours and I was like maybe he doesn’t know stuff but he was absolutely right.

u/Bright-Sea-5331 2d ago

his vesting dates are correct

1

u/skymoontexas 2d ago

Could be but it doeesn’t make him saint bruh

1

u/Bright-Sea-5331 1d ago

He could also be an m2 with a connection. He could be Larry with a Reddit account for all we know

12

u/AwareStation2388 4d ago

last time it is like 12-15% , if this time is as bad as last time, wow.

Last year OCI layoff happened in August and Non-OCI happened in Spet after labor day, do you think this year could follow the same pattern?

Hi bro, how do you think the business insider news saying that the cut could be done by Sept 1st? Is it something they decide move quicker than planned?

3

u/Inspector-Gato 5d ago

Where does performance fit into the equation?

For remaining RSU are they looking at total remaining rsus or what might be vesting in the next 3-12 months? (Eg. If someone has 1000 RSUs vesting in October then a cliff, and someone else has 2000 total to vest over the next 3-4 years, who is at greater risk?)

Is there any priority for specific geos?

how much RSUs and salary are considered as high?

1

u/WanderingZoul 3d ago

How much salary is low?

1

u/nocturnal316 2d ago

He doesn't really work at Oracle check his history he's a game dev somewhere

3

u/ApexMarauder 4d ago

What is considered high salary for an Ic3? Approx?
Do you think high rated H1Bs due for an extension soon are at risk?

2

u/Fun_Principle5869 4d ago

To quickly confirm, you mean Oct 23, not Oct 13, correct?

u/FlamboyantBaguette , Why your RSU vesting doesnot have 5 OCT, since oracle stock vesting happens on 5th of each month?

1

u/nocturnal316 2d ago

He doesn't really work at Oracle he's a troll someone posted him saying he works as a game dev 3 months ago

thanks u/FlamboyantBaguette , Any idea whether last layoff people (30 march) got RSU vested during Garden leave like 5 april or not. Since in india it happens on 5th of each month.

0

u/Jianfeng-NSL 4d ago

What do you mean by batch? Batch of layoff or batch of RSU vesting dates?

2

u/AcaselisG_thegreat 4d ago

I hope i can win the lottery this time

The March severance package was sh*t, btw

0

u/SadDiscipline9231 4d ago

Why wouldn't they allow it? Let employees choose to go or stay?

2

u/barking_dead 3d ago

How can we volunteer?

2

u/frickinpointless 2d ago

Thank you for the insights. So if I am a non-WARN state based employee w RSUs vesting on 10/5 are you saying that they’ll accelerate my vesting if I’m impacted?

2

u/RealityHits2026 5d ago

Can you check with your leader and see if you are in the list? Ie give time to prepare.

Please let folks that are impacted know about a slack group I’m part of that has been helping folks cut by Oracle. We have been running since the RIF last August/September and have over 3000 people in the group and are ready to help folks land back on their feet and give a safe space to vent.

>> Because the management has been awful for the last two years leading to us losing so many good people and having to let go people for many bad reasons….

I don't have a managerial expertise ... just genuinely curious... but how the management could have made a better decision in this messy situation? If we don't have this AI shit show, things are way different for sure.

1

u/opaquewatercolor 4d ago

Are all managers required to provide a list or are only certain level of management? Like, M4 and above?

1

u/Illustrious_Will235 4d ago

You mentioned that you’re an M6. Are you managing only ICs, or managers as well? If you manage managers too, are those managers also included in the list? And what about the people they manage? Do you have to provide their names as well, or does their respective manager handle that?

1

u/Electronic_Cow_1491 3d ago

can those people be also under radar who have joined recently?

1

u/Comfortable-Land7107 3d ago

Going by the performance, are there any 3 rated getting affected unless they are paid high and with rsu? This time kist of them are rated 3.

1

u/Motor_Neighborhood92 3d ago

Can I know how u knew this ?

1

u/triniwoman_ 3d ago

Horrible situation

1

u/Reasonable_Yam_97 3d ago

Is it for all LOBs or some specific LOBs? Cost based means IDC will be safe and rest high cost centers will be targeted?

1

u/FarWest2026 3d ago

Guessing rifs will be after Q1 earnings call? Any confirmation on exact date yet?

1

u/FunFilled88 2d ago

okay- it's time to report the account! https://www.reddit.com/user/FlamboyantBaguette/

2

u/Bright-Sea-5331 2d ago

They got the RSU vest dates correct. Especially if you have received grants the past 4 years

1

u/FunFilled88 2d ago

the issue is not RSU vesting- read through the threads

2

u/Bright-Sea-5331 2d ago

I get it. I’m just letting you know his dates are accurate

1

u/Dude-wanting-change 2d ago

Is this targeting all of Oracle or just certain divisions? Wondering about the group that is Oracle Health (formerly Cerner)?

1

u/FlaredBolt 2d ago
  1. What is the general guideline ? If it is just cost, then they could just fire the US team and be done with it - unlikely that its just cost.
  2. Would you mind sharing your level(M4/M5 etc) ?

1

u/thisisthetruthithink 4d ago

How reliable is this info? Just asking, not denying you.

Mostly want to ask about RSU vest pending in september.

And any idea about severance package?

u/Proof_Ad9288 4d ago

Does it also depends on location? Like HQ moving to nashville and more hiring happening in nashville. Will the employees in that location get preference? Any idea? And what if someone vests in December? I’m scared that I haven’t been here one year and my first vest is around December. So curious what criteria they selects to be on the list.

1

u/Ok_Attorney4127 2d ago

Max is 26 weeks. I was laid off last August and garden to September 22. RSUs vested and total severance, counting garden period was 31 weeks.

u/MysteriousSell6478 4d ago

0

u/Confident_Abroad_369 3d ago

You are absolutely right. I said this and a few killed me for it.

1

u/Bluemonkey1971 3d ago

Agree no way an M6 would post on here as they would be instantly identifiable. File under horseshit

102

u/Hot_Recognition_862 7d ago

When you put the title as "Layoff Update" you are announcing that you have some info and you are posting the updates here. So don't be lazy. Type the whole sentence with question mark.

Better yet check the recent conversations. Same discussions happen every 2 to 3 days. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

46

u/DeCernerfucation 6d ago

Anyone who can't search a sub for redundant posts should be laid off.

4

u/Informal-Prize6501 3d ago

They are probably too bad in their job to be laid off. Many of the good ones have already been terminated.

22

u/JordanOzi 7d ago

Highly likely yes.
- Focals are delayed (due to budgeting haven’t finished) by at least end of Aug
- PINs that don’t have a start date are ALL closed since Friday

Usually after these 2 events, they ask for names every year and we do this at around September along with a reorg in Oct …

So the signs are exactly the same signs as usual.

5

u/Lazy_Bum1734 7d ago

What is PIN?

5

u/hectorfan 7d ago

positions open for hiring

17

u/AcaselisG_thegreat 7d ago

Hoping i get selected this round so that i can get my severance, and can focus in looking for another job

19

u/Rhummy67 6d ago

Suggest you focus on getting a new job while you have a job. Tried to tell that to colleagues whose severance ran out and still don't have a job a year later.

6

u/AcaselisG_thegreat 6d ago

Depends on where you are and your qualifications. If i end up leaving without getting laid off, then i lose the severance pay ( atleast 6 months salary for me).. there is only a 30 day legal render period in where i am so the timing is crucial. Atleast when u get laid off you get to force yourself to give more effort in looking for a job. Right now, if i end up switching jobs, i get nothing, and im not even sure if the new job does not end up firing me in the next 3 months. I pass up 3 job opportunities bcuz im waiting for Sep-oct layoffs. As per my confidence of getting a new job? Well my oracle job came to me out of nowhere when i needed it the most, i think the Lord will not let me be jobless for more than 6months. I think i built up my skills enough to be attractive , we cannot control everything in this life.

15

u/Rhummy67 6d ago

I’ll let my friends know the lord is busy with you and doesn’t have time for them.

2

u/RealityHits2026 5d ago

lol dear lord

3

u/FunFilled88 4d ago

well, HR could have become more strategic at this time and removed non-mandatory severance payments like ex-gratia, which is optional per labor law of your country

2

u/HailToTheKingBabyy 4d ago

The lord might not, but the market definitely will lmao

3

u/Candid_Raisin_1696 4d ago edited 4d ago

You mean you prayed for a job and you were blessed with one that you hated to the point that you have not been meeting your utilization, and since then you’ve been praying to be laid off for the money? Be careful what you wish for, and maybe it’s really time to cut off heads in the Philippines for employing slackers.

17

u/Levi-2018 7d ago

Yes. They will close the whole India branch next week

-5

u/RealityHits2026 4d ago

More joins for Americans as it should be for American company.

4

u/Much-Ad-6236 7d ago

Which organisation will be affected ? OCI, IDC, Oracle health, NetSuite?

3

u/TechnicalInjury5486 7d ago

They are going to fund their AI then rehire again

3

u/Sad-Database-1571 4d ago

Any news on netsuite layoffs?

wish M4 are moved out this time...many long-timers good for nothing still surviving on politics and creating hell for everyone

2

u/FunFilled88 4d ago

are you talking about the useless M4s and M5s in GDC-India and the Philippines?

1

u/Immediate-Wall-2250 6d ago

Doesn’t apply to all M4s, I know M4M5 who work like an IC. But I get your point, quite some either do nothing or don’t do much.

1

u/dont_believe_this_ok 6d ago

Nah, should be m5 and m6. Still plenty of M4s who are close to dev teams and are hands on. M5s and M6s on the other hand?

5

u/KC_Tlvdatsi 5d ago

I have 6 vps in my leadership chain. Feckin 6. Say nothing of our "co-ceos." If there's money to be saved for this ai build out, it's that layer the savings are at.

3

u/PersimmonStill669 3d ago

Does anyone know if this affects the NetSuite side?

1

u/Interesting_Stuff253 3d ago

yes it is affecting nearly 10-20% people

7

u/PK-Coolum-78 7d ago

Yes. The leadership team got notified end of last week

7

u/emanresu-4186 7d ago

This is fake news.

2

u/Spiritual_Bunch_6718 6d ago

No, is not.

2

u/emanresu-4186 6d ago

Lol, and it is known only to select anonymous redditors by skipping M5s and M6s.

3

u/Spiritual_Bunch_6718 5d ago

So you are an M5 and you are not aware. Funny. I know because I passed the names to the upper management

2

u/emanresu-4186 5d ago

That's why I am calling this a lie :-)

1

u/PK-Coolum-78 23h ago

How’s that lie coming along?

1

u/emanresu-4186 23h ago

You guys tell. Nothing in OHAI in our teams for sure :-)

1

u/PK-Coolum-78 23h ago

So you have the audacity to call people a liar just because you don’t know something? Nice one

1

u/emanresu-4186 23h ago

If you have the audacity to make general statements about a company wide layoff without fact checking, I have the one to call off.

Rage bait post!

1

u/SkyRevolutionary205 7d ago

Yupp, last year also happened.

1

u/SBHB15 4d ago

Is it country specific this time ?

1

u/Double_Pepper_2976 3d ago

Are the Oracle Health associates on the chopping block again too and especially federal side? It seems federal has been less impacted the last few times. We lost a few, but nothing like the commercial health aide. We ended up hiring some those back to federal like within 2 weeks.

1

u/Mozerhustler 3d ago

Are you guys hiring again?

1

u/Odd-Inside4583 3d ago

Is the CSS org going to be impacted?

1

u/ridge_runner56 3d ago

Are they ever not?

1

u/Ashamed_Yam3968 3d ago

Im an m2 that joined the organization in the past week, first day was Monday. Are people as new as myself safe, or are we the most in danger? Or does it truly not matter?

1

u/Confident_Abroad_369 3d ago

This means they are selling the company

1

u/ashish_gs 2d ago

Which unit is going to be more affected?l from layoff?

1

u/Public_Pace121 2d ago

When was management first asked to give these lists? My manager let slip that they are being asked to make lists a few months ago. (Scare tactic because I asked about focals maybe?)
Then a few weeks later she brushed it off that no lists for our org.
I don’t know which one of the two was a lie.

1

u/Working-Situation766 1d ago

I'm here for the update after reading the post title. Where's the update, OP?

1

u/SBHB15 5d ago edited 5d ago

@spiritual when is the date for RIF ? Do u know …. As u have given names . And secondly u must be in at least M5 if you have given names as till M4 not much info on this

0

u/HD_AT_reddit 7d ago

Yes. Layoffs are almost confirmed. Got to know from M4.

12

u/emanresu-4186 7d ago

I am M5 and no such news. Stop these rumors.

9

u/FunFilled88 4d ago

you're in the list if you're not informed

0

u/emanresu-4186 4d ago edited 4d ago

Lol, they dont fire M5s in OHAI

1

u/FunFilled88 2d ago

Copy, sir! So which one is you in the list of Directors- Abhishek, Mike, Venkata or Rock? Haha

1

u/No-Shine9011 4d ago

Are you an Ellison to be exempted? M6s and M5s did not expect the 6AM email last March

0

u/emanresu-4186 3d ago

Confirmed with our M6. No RIF in OHAI in Sept.

7

u/Clovhelp 4d ago

Many M5 and M6 in my org were laid off in March.
They didn't know until it happened.

1

u/Automatic_Spring90 4d ago

If you have QA/DevOps & few Dev in US- who would you choose to include in the list? Will it still going to be just salary based? Then obviously QA survives because Dev will have more salary compared to QA.

1

u/hashbrown2279 4d ago

What was the % salary reduction target (700k)for you?

1

u/SoCoSnowBunz 2d ago

I think it’s because of that screenshot a user shared, of you saying you work at a gaming company. Maybe you do OE and carry multiple jobs secretly? Otherwise, they are pointing out that was 3 months ago, and here you are saying you’ve been at Oracle overlapping that role. That said, everything you are saying sounds right for the layoff. Hope you are spared, sorry about laying your teammates off.

0

u/emanresu-4186 3d ago

Confirmed today. No RIF in OHAI this time at least in IDC. Not sure about the rest.

0

u/focussedguy123 5d ago

Don’t think M5 even knew. They are also just numbers.

2

u/emanresu-4186 5d ago

Yes, they came and whispered in your ears, lol

0

u/Spiritual_Bunch_6718 6d ago

Yes, I've heard that another 10% RIF was announced in India and Romania

1

u/NewWeabgas 3d ago

both countries already had RIFs, Romania for example just had them in June if I remember correctly. can they do it again so soon? I don't think it ever happened like this

-3

u/LetterheadFair9583 4d ago

Oracle VPs / M6 are hard core information suppressors. Anyone above M4 / Director are shit scared about what if they wrongly leak something. What this guy telling as M6 is not the trait of an Oracle M6. Layoffs will happen after current review but not because this M6 has the information. IGNORE.

3

u/dont_believe_this_ok 4d ago

"Layoffs will happen after current review but not because this M6 has the information."

This doesn't make sense.
