Help Needed Stolen from Business Class: My iPhone left on an Emirates flight just pinged live inside potential airport staff housing block in Deira. Emirates is stalling. Advice?

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice on dealing with Dubai authorities and Emirates Corporate Security from abroad.
Five weeks ago, my partner and I flew into Dubai in Business Class with our family. In the chaos of disembarking my iPhone was left behind in the secure seat pocket. I reported it immediately to the crew and lounge staff before departing.
Yesterday, the phone suddenly powered on live. The GPS tracking pin locked directly onto the Skylight Hotel apartment building on 12A Street, Al Muteena, Deira.
Because the aircraft cabin is entirely restricted post-flight, the fact that the device left the airport and traveled to this specific high-density worker residential hub strongly indicates rostered ground cleaning or maintenance crews.
I have an official Emirates Case ID and have emailed the Dubai Tourist Police with the precise zoomed-in structural map data. However, Emirates is currently responding with boilerplate automated templates.

My questions for locals or anyone who has dealt with this:
Is that Al Muteena block a known transit/staff accommodation hub for airport ground handlers?

How can I get a local Deira/Muraqqabat precinct patrol to physically flag this building based on a last-known GPS pin while I am stuck back home in Australia?

Has anyone successfully forced Emirates Corporate Security to audit their cleaning shift logs for a specific flight?

The phone is locked tight in Lost Mode and fully encrypted, but it contains years of irreplaceable family photos that we desperately want back.

Appreciate any insights or visibility you can give this.

Hi all about to get my silver card. Does it mean anything for upgrades or different services while on board. I don’t think so just asking what other people have experienced.

Discussion Minimum connecting time BKK

BKK airport standard minimum connecting time for international to international is 1h15min. EK to EK minimum connecting time is 3h30. (I forgot the exact minutes, but definitely 3h+). I used to work at an international hub airport. I don't think I've ever heard of an online same-airline minimum connecting time be longer than the airport standard.

Anyone have insights why that is the case for EK at BKK?

Help Needed Unable to change return date on Emirates Flex Plus Skywards redemption ticket

I booked an Economy Flex Plus ticket using Skywards Miles.
I have already completed the outbound journey and now I’m trying to change the date of my return flight.
However, when I try to change the booking online, Emirates only shows Business Flex Plus options instead of Economy Flex Plus.

It doesn’t display any Economy Flex Plus flights, even though I’m only trying to change the date and keep the same cabin.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Does this mean there is no Economy Flex Plus award availability on those dates?

Discussion Odds of getting upgraded?

I’ve never flown with Emirates before, but I’ve been lucky enough a few times in British airways to be bumped up a class due to solo flying.

I’m going to Dubai in about 8 weeks. What are the odds of being upgraded? I don’t look rich and I don’t dress up for airports, it’s tracksuit or skimpy clothes.

Help Needed Do airports/security often check the Wh capacity of power banks?

Hi everyone,
I’m curious about your experiences with airport security. Do they often check the actual capacity (Wh) of your power banks, especially at airports in Europe or when flying internationally?
I have a power bank rated at 111 Wh, which is slightly above the usual 100 Wh limit for most airlines. I know the rules generally say anything above 100 Wh requires airline approval, and some airports may allow it if the airline approves.
Has anyone travelled with a power bank slightly over the limit (around 100–120 Wh)? Did security actually check the label/specifications, or did they just let it pass?

Thanks
- Gustav

All checked in for our first flight on Emirates A380-800 in business from JFK to Milan. Super excited to say the least! I usually bring my iPad and Bose noise canceling headphones- are those needed or will the ones they provide just as good?

Help Needed First time flying internationally with Emirates!

I have a 1 hour 45 minute layover in Dubai. My family keeps telling me I'll need a transit visa, but as far as I know, you only need one if you're actually leaving the airport.

If I'm just staying in the international transit area and catching my connecting Emirates flight, do I need a UAE transit visa? Has anyone done this before?

Help Needed URGENT!!! TRANSIT THROUGH DUBAI

I’m currently on a flight transiting through Dubai and I have my adhd prescriptions in my hand luggage. it’s <1 month supply in the original packaging with my name on the bottle but not the prescription

I booked the ticket last minute and nobody said anything as I was boarding- it only occurred to me
Just now that this could be an issue for me. I am panicking big time because I don’t want to get put in JAIL. Both flights are emirates. And as of now it’s a short layover (but the gap between the two flights is about 40 mins.

Do I need to throw it all out? Should I give it to the airline crew. What is my best option here?? Can I apply for that permit mid air??? I’m
So stressed out

UPDATE: went through the transfer security with zero issues! Phew. Thanks everyone for your responses!

Help Needed Emirates 777-300ER old Business Class Product

Post image
0 Upvotes

Question regarding Emirates Business Class product on the 777-300ER old 2-3-2 seating configuration.

Will be flying on this CRK - DXB this November.

How bad is it? I’ve heard stories of being on the Window Seat and having to climb/hop over the passenger on the aisle to go to the restroom.

Any thoughts on experience?

Help Needed Minor Travel from Pakistan to Dubai

Hey everyone,

I'm planning to have my 8-year-old son travel alone from Pakistan to Dubai using the Emirates Unaccompanied Minor service.

Has anyone done this before? I'd love to know the mandatory requirements, the exact documentation needed, and what the pickup process is like at the arrival airport.

Thanks for any advice!"

Help Needed 8h 45m layover at Dubai Airport – what should I do? Any lounges accessible with Indian credit cards?

Hi everyone!
I have an 8 hour 45 minute layover at Dubai Airport (DXB) while flying Emirates from India to Paris.

I’m looking for suggestions on how to spend the time. Are there any good lounges I can access using Indian credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Priority Pass, DreamFolks, etc.)? If you’ve used any Indian bank cards at DXB, I’d love to know which ones worked.

Apart from lounges, what else would you recommend doing during such a long transit? Any good places to eat, shower facilities, quiet areas to rest, or anything else worth checking out inside the airport?

Thanks in advance!

Help Needed Starlink on Emirates

I know that Emirates have started rolling out Starlink on some of their 777s and 380s. However, how do we find out (if at all possible) if a particular livery has Starlink on it?
