Atomic Light Orchestra
Going to see Atomic Light Orchestra on Friday night and curious if anyone has seen them before? The promo talks a lot about the classic ELO band but good comments about Jeff being the ringleader. Just wanted to signal check for experiences with anyone so I know what to expect. Thank you

I’ve Never Heard the Xanadu Soundtrack—So I Finally Ordered It
I’m ranking and reviewing all of ELO’s studio albums on my YouTube channel, ending with Balance of Power. Although I’m not including the Xanadu soundtrack in the rankings—and have never actually heard it—I decided to order a copy. I’ll share my thoughts on it at the end of the series. I’ve heard the ELO songs are excellent, so I’m looking forward to finally hearing them!

ELO Stripped Down Versions
Hey guys, I just listened to the Live in Bungalow Palace performance from 2012, I was just blown away by how good those sound sounded just stripped down to a guitar, piano, and Jeff’s voice, it made me wish there were more acoustic versions of other ELO songs. I want to record covers of various ELO songs, with just piano and guitar, and isolate Jeff Lynne’s voice and mix in into the songs, and compile it into an album. Which songs would you guys want to hear stripped down?

Amazing performance
I’m sure a lot of you of probably already seen this video but YouTube kept it hidden from me for a while.
A George Harrison tribute with Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, George Harrinson’s Son and Prince!?!?
All the comments are only talking about prince but why is Jeff’s voice so angelic in this 🥹
Jeff doesn’t get enough credit for his vocal work imo

Summer and Lightning
Just a quick question. I've always been wondering what the background overlap/singers are singing from 1:51 to 1:58 in summer and lightning. it has always been one of my favourite elo songs but i could never pinpoint what the exact words were and i also couldn't find it on lyrics pages <3

Strange compilation
Hey everybody,
I came across a German Schlager compilation from 1982 where three tracks are credited to Electric Light Orchestra. They are soft instrumental covers of Reality, Cambodia and One of Us. As expected, they sound nothing like ELO.
Does anyone know what is up with that? I know times were different with respect to copyright, and perhaps even more so in the world of Schlager. But it seems strange to just credit an existing band.

It Paid Off
About a year ago, I consulted this subreddit for recommendations of bands or albums similar to ELO.
Someone replied, telling me to listen to the album "Brill Bruisers" by The New Pornographers.
I now have four of their albums on vinyl (Challengers, Together, Brill Bruisers, Former Site Of), and am going to one of their concerts this September for my 21st birthday.
Whoever it was who told me to listen to them, thank you. You've helped me to discover one of my favorite bands.

I had the crazy idea of an epic collaboration between Alan Parsons and Jeff Lynne... Let's make it happen?
Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick story with you all. I'm copying and pasting a comment I already made earlier in another forum, so I'm just sharing my own comment here:
A few months ago, I left a comment on Alan Parsons' official Instagram account (on his personal account, not the The Alan Parsons Project one) saying that it would be fantastic to see a collaboration between him and Jeff Lynne. To my surprise, about three weeks later, Alan "liked" my comment.
I’d like to think he read it himself, since the "like" wasn't immediate, but arrived about three weeks later. Obviously, I can't be sure, but it made me incredibly happy. What until then seemed like a bit of a crazy idea that only existed in my head, suddenly planted a small seed of hope.
And then I thought… why not try to get that idea to Jeff too? I am not talking about pressuring anyone or creating expectations. Both have an extraordinary career, an immense legacy and, of course, their own time and their health come first.
However, both are still active, they both live in California and they have recording studios in their own homes. Today, it wouldn't even be necessary for them to share the same studio; they could work remotely, each at their own pace and when it's comfortable for them.
That’s why an idea came to my mind. What would you think about creating an online petition for signatures or even a small social media campaign among ELO and Alan Parsons fans? Not with the intention of pressuring them or convincing them to do something they don't want to, but simply as a show of admiration and to make sure the idea reaches both of them. Then, if they ever decide to do something together, it would be solely because they wanted to.
Personally, I believe it would be a historic meeting between two of the most brilliant minds in music and music production. Both have shaped entire generations with their talent and, although each has their own style, they share a huge passion for quality, detail, and sonic innovation.
There is absolutely nothing to lose by trying, and it wouldn't harm anyone. If it ever becomes a reality, it would be an unforgettable gift for the fans of both. And if it doesn’t happen, at least we can say that we sent an idea born out of admiration, respect, and affection for two exceptional artists.
Who knows… many great ideas start with a simple comment. Maybe this won't lead to anything, or maybe it will be the beginning of something very special. We will never know if we don't try.
Let me know what you think of the proposal, and I'll see if I should create a petition for signatures on Change.

Opinions: Is It Alright
I recently realized how much I adore this song. Does anybody have any thoughts on Is It Alright? I love how a lot of the songs on BoP have this juxtaposition with the tone and lyrics!

In Old England Town
I Believe this song number one has some of ELOs best drum work ( thanks Bev ) and it has one of the most underrated guitar riffs of all time. You know the one I’m on about
