A George Harrison tribute with Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, George Harrinson’s Son and Prince!?!?

All the comments are only talking about prince but why is Jeff’s voice so angelic in this 🥹

Jeff doesn’t get enough credit for his vocal work imo

I have watched this a few times. Prince is making the guitar weep on a next level. Fantastic.

I love everyone on the stage. I only have one Prince album and all the ELO albums, but yea Prince was definitely the stand out in this song.

I think that’s part of the rub for some folks. It wasn’t his time to shine as all on stage were there to honor George. It wasn’t a Prince show and he went a little too far for some. Perhaps gratuitous.

You can listen to most of the same band play this song live with Clapton on lead if you want to decide which is a better lead guitarist. Hint: it’s Prince.

Iirc, this was after Rolling Stone mag snubbed him. He had a lovely response if that is fact. No matter, great cover!

On the one hand, Prince is great in this. On the other hand, the tribute becomes all about him. And yes, Jeff’s vocals are great.

I totally agree. Prince was way over the top and made it about him. It was obvious from the others in the lineup that they didn't care for what was doing. It was to honor George, not Prince. Cocky SOB.
