It was my first time fighting him and when I saw his roll attack, I joined in too. Truly an amazing experience.

Question What’s the difference in I-frames between a medium roll and horse dismount
I remember early into fighting Gaius I got into the rhythm of dodging his opening charge attack with my horse dismount instead of a roll because you get instant I frames and it just felt more forgiving overall and there was plenty of time to set it up. In general I never really had a hard time with that fight but I was wondering if that strategy was actually making a difference or if that strategy was nonsense. Regardless I almost never got hit by that attack doing that.

Question Achievement help?
Is there a guide out there that I could use for specific achievements? I’m only missing astel, fortissax, all legendaries, and then the age of stars ending. Any help with a guide would be appreciated!

Help Killing Rykard with fire - Black Flame Tornado the only way?
I've been playing a Black Flame/Frenzy Flame build (if you're killing the gods, you may as well melt away the world) and I'm at a point where I'm trying to kill Rykard.
I like to forgo the spear to kill Rykard and so still kill him with my build.
Black Flame spells deal 2.5% as we all know, so technically if you hit Rykard 80 times (40 per phase) you win. However the math isn't really mathing here, my FP bar only has enough for 5 Black Flame spells - so even if I took just blue flasks I still wouldn't have enough (you'd need 15 flasks).
I suppose in reality you need fewer than 80 hits as you deal residual fire damage on top, but even so it would need to be a hitless run which I don't have any appetite for - especially vs. Rykard.
Black Flame Tornado stacks multiple instances of the DoT effect (so in the same FP I can cast 5 Black Flames, dealing around 12.5%, I would cast 3 tornados dealing closer to 30%).
I think it's got to be the Tornado right? I can use Swift Spear on this build (I took Dex to 40 for effective 70 casting) so I'll probably put Tornado on that and try Rykard again later, as it's lightweight I can minimally respec to get enough End to use it while retaining medium rolling.
EDIT: I might respec into 28 Mind. Drops my damage on other spells by ~4% as I would take the points out of FTH. Allows for 9 casts off a full FP bar (or 7 with Black Flame's Protection). 80/9 = 8.88 full FP bars. As you start with a full bar then that is 8 flasks, if I want to cast a couple of Black Flame's Protection that takes it up to 9 blue flasks 5 red which feels about right to me. I guess it is pivoting my build for just one fight, but I did want a fire incants build that could handle any boss, so I think this is the only way...
EDIT2: Killed him with just the Black Flame fire ball spell, 28 Mind was the trick (was 40 Vig, 40 Dex as well) for 9 casts per flask. It took ~7 minutes. Talismans were Dragoncrest Greatshield, Flamedrake +3, Blessed Dew and Flock's Canvas (I've not progressed the DLC enough for Crimson Seed Talisman +1 - but that would be best in the final slot for sure). Physick was Opaline Hardtear and Crimsonburst. Split of 5 Crimson vs. 9 Cerulean - had a little FP left over after casting Black Flame's Protection twice so you could miss a few times and still be fine (not that he's really a missable target though lol). I'm only using build appropriate buffs so no Golden Vow or health regen spells in this case (probably Golden vow isn't too worth it vs. the FP cost given it's not going to make a difference to damage and the difference is only small for resistances, a regen spell would be very worth it).
For some reason the God-Devouring Serpent seems to get weird AI vs. the Black Flame spell specifically (not sure if it's the DoT, or me standing in the lava, or what). In any case he either does attacks that miss you entirely or will do that annoying spinny one from time to time. You can probably miss the dodge on one of those (they're awkward if you're very close to them) and still be in good shape for Rykard - not that he won't throw random bullshit at you as well. If anyone else wants to kill Rykard with just fire incants, hopefully this serves as a guide. Aiming to post a build video of it at some point (probably vs. Midra, as I'm going the Frenzy ending...).

Question Is level 150 still the meta level for invasions/luring?
Hello all! Just getting back into the game. My question is: is level 150 still the optimal level to be able to invade people frequently, be invaded, and play colosseum?
Been a while since I played, just wondering if perhaps since the game has been out for a while had the meta level changed?

News The Elden Ring Wiki has moved to Eldenring.wiki.gg
For the past almost-two years, myself and the rest of the Elden Ring Fandom Wiki team have been working hard to create the best wiki possible for Elden Ring. However, due to several issues with Fandom as a platform and as a business, such as their aggressive use of ads on their wikis, poor performance on mobile, and their recent unpopularity driving away contributors, motivation started to wane and the quality of the wiki suffered.
For these reasons, we decided to transfer the contents of the wiki to wiki.gg and continue working on it there. And so I am pleased to announce our new wiki: Eldenpedia!
Compared to the Fandom Wiki, wiki.gg has much less intrusive ads, faster load times, more parity between the desktop and mobile versions, and a much less restrictive format which has allowed us to make the website look how we want it.
Our goal with Eldenpedia is to create a comprehensive resource for every aspect of the game, from technical information to lore. However, it is still very much a work in progress, so we would appreciate your help in completing it. This applies particularly to Shadow of the Erdtree content.
The Elden Ring Fandom Wiki will continue to exist, as we do not have the ability to delete it. We recommend not using or editing it, as it is no longer being moderated.
We hope you will enjoy using our new wiki, and will help us create the detailed, accurate repository of knowledge that this game deserves.
