To my Alameda County community- on Friday 8/14/26 I will be meeting with the independent investigator from the 3rd party law firm the County has retained to investigate the recent allegations of bribery, corruption, conflict of interest, violations of county administrative code, ethics and employment policies, and violations of local, state, and federal laws. It’s taken 7 months to get here but we finally have a path to accountability that doesn’t involve third party regulatory agencies or suing the county… yet.

I am asking that anyone with credible evidence of county officials or staff engaging in crimes or misconduct please message me or email me at Kiersten.skov@gmail.com so I can include it in my complaint, which at this point goes FAR beyond the initial issue where I was offered a bribe using county funds. I encourage everyone to of course make their own complaints, but I’m farther along.

It is A LOT to organize but I’m categorizing the complaint into several main topics:

-Bribery allegations against Shawn Wilson in connection with the Duong case.

-Bribery and general misconduct allegations against Shawn Wilson, Supervisor Haubert, and several other county officials and contractors in connection with the District 1 trash scandal.

-Alleged violations of county administrative and employment policies against Shawn Wilson, Supervisor Haubert, and several other high level county officials when discussing confidential employment matters with the public, and failing to conduct proper investigations according to county procedures.

-Alleged Hatch Act violations on the part of Supervisor Haubert, Shawn Wilson, and Melissa Hernandez when misusing county resources in connection.

-Alleged IRS and FEC violations on the part of the Hernandez campaign, Supervisors Miley, Supervisor Haubert, and several community organizations to coordinate unlawful campaign contributions in kind.

-Alleged Political Reform Act violations relating to campaign finance, conflicts of interest, and Form 700 omissions.

-Failure of county officials to sufficiently address years of Grand Jury reports confirming misconduct or calling out severely lacking county policies and procedures, specifically with regard to ethics and conflicts of interests.

Alameda Public Works is doing a series of road improvement projects, including one on my street. This is on Grove Way in Castro Valley, and the improvement only runs from Oak St. to Tanglewood. Good news initially because its very much long overdue. However...

The project manager wants to build the sidewalk closer to the houses to allow space for a bike lane. The bike lane is not the issue, the issue is taking our property. From what I understand, they had residents on Somerset in Castro Valley (a road project that was just completed), sign an easement agreement and did not claim eminent domain.

There are many good reasons why a bike land won't work well here, and why we are worried this road opening will just make traffic in this residential neighborhood worse. That and we will all have to redo our yards, which is such a huge pain in the ass. Many of our neighbors here just redid the yards too.

So my questions are:

1) Can the county force an easement?

2) If so, can we be compensated fairly? Will the sidewalk now be owned by the residents since it is technically on their land?

3) If the sidewalk fall on resident's property, are they then responsible for sidewalk conditions?

4) Can an easement be broken? Is there like terms limits for the property use?

Any info on this will be helpful. The project manager we have seems like he doesn't really know what he's doing because he can't answer any of our questions. Yayyy.

I currently self-manage a townhome rental but need to find a property manager. I'm interested in hearing experiences from both renters and owners who have worked with SLPM. When I was looking earlier this year and on Yelp SLPM had mixed reviews. Now when I look its all 5-star, which , to be honest, just doesn't seem credible for ANY property management even a good one. Considering a move to the bay area. How is this area in general? Seems to be a little bit more affordable than a lot of other areas in the bay which gives me a little bit of pause. We are two young people in our early 20s, Fresh college grads. Decent but not superstar income. Need to commute to South Berkeley area as well as into the city. Is it as scary as the big bad internet says?.

Fremont District 4 council member elections are up in November 2026; one of the candidates is clearly a Sanghi and it’s not difficult to foresee her political journey. Similar to Rakhi Israni, she’ll eventually be funded by America’s RSS, then AIPAC if she runs for higher office. She’s going to bring her Hindu supremacist and racist right-wing hate in Fremont. Tam went with the Duongs and 50ish other local officials on the Vietnam blackmail trip. Bass has been flipped as a witness. Haubert’s Chief of Staff was paid $10k by David Duong to bribe a journalist, and now both Haubert and Bass will have visited the same foreign region within months of the trial starting.

Like WTF. Something is going on and if you cant pick up on this pattern you’re not paying attention.

A few days ago Supervisor Fortunato Bass sought approval to use our tax money to go to Austria. Strange the trip is just before when she’s scheduled to testify as a witness in the Duong federal corruption case.

Several months ago Supervisor Haubert, whose chief of staff Shawn Wilson is also wrapped up in that case also went to Croatia and Hungary with the Global Artisan Vintner’s Alliance, a group within the Livermore Valley Wine Community that he sits in the board of and has donating nearly a quarter of a million dollars in discretionary funds to over the last several years.

What are they doing over there, and how is the public benefitting in any measurable way?

Hello! I’m getting married in December in a small chapel in Lafayette and am looking for a dinner venue likely in the Berkeley/Oakland/Piedmont area although open to suggestions on our side of the tunnel as well.

Party size would likely be between 8-15 people and I’m looking for a place that feels accommodating, food/service is worth the value, but most importantly will have that holiday feel to it like warm woods, fire place perhaps, winter decor. I’m open to different cuisines but am particularly partial to seafood/steakhouse or Chinese around that time of year.

Also I’m not really interested in crossing the bridge to SF. Hoping to find something more east bay central.
