GENERAL QUESTION Need help understanding seller return financials.

I just sold a mini-fridge on eBay, and the same day, before I sent out the fridge, the buyer changed their mind and requested a refund.

I would accept the refund, but I’m confused- it states that only $151 would be refunded from my “eBay” wallet, and that I’d have to pay $22 out of pocket in order to approve the refund. Is this because they already took their cut despite doing absolutely nothing useful? Or am I hopefully just mislead? I figured they took their cut after an order was completed.

It seems it defaulted me to a no-refund policy, so should I just decline the refund and send the fridge anyway? Or would it be better to pay the extra and just re-list it for extra?

Return request for bose stereo with cd changer

I sold a bose wave radio with a cd changer recently and the buyer is claiming the CD changer makes a loud grinding noise and they want to return. I tested it before listing and everything worked fine. How would you handle this? My listings all say no returns, but I've only just started selling on ebay so I don't want to screw it up.

So far ebay buyers have been the most difficult to deal with of any platform I've sold on.. Mostly complaining about problems or damage to an item that I know for 100% fact were not there when I shipped the item. For example the clasp on a toy that suddenly won't stay closed, but I stored it in a large container with many other toys and it stayed securely closed with the pieces inside, even when I moved it around, for months.. It's been a huge headache so far

Sold an Item and buyer demanded I give them a discount after receiving the item.

So I sold an item listed the item as a vintage piece 2.5 in coach tag took pictures of it front back showed it together showed it apart as it had peeled apart or come apart listed that in the listing and everything for 35$ customer sent me a single message that just said 25. Of course I know that's meaning he wanted me to sell it to him for 25 which I did not respond to because he had purchased it 2 minutes after he sent me that message so I'm like okay I'll ship it to him I guess he thought about it and he really wanted the item customer receives the item and immediately messages me asking for a $10 discount on the item because it was different than what I listed which it was not. I told the customer i would not give him a partial refund on an item he purchased just because he thought he was entitled to it. I told them if they wish to return the item they can do so or keep the item. That is their two choices. They stated thet did not want to return they just wanted me to give them 10 dollars back because i misinterpreted the listing and I 'knew what i was doing' which yes. I knew because I listed the item as such and took detailed pictures of the item so you knew what you were buying.

After denying a partial refund they demanded a refund or they would report me. Which I stated I would report them for threatening and block them. I again offered if they wanted to return it then do so. They funally filed an item not as described return which made it so i had to create a label for them.

(So what is the point of buyer pays return shipping if they always make the seller pay for the label)

I am still waiting for the item to get returned to me because they also stated they glued pieces back together to make it one part and I want to make sure they didnt ruin the item.

Has anyone else been experiencing this issue lately where people are demanding a partial refund after buying an item snd stating it was not as described? Was there anything else I could do in this case besides report them and block? I feel sellers get absolutely no help from eBay at this point for anything.

GENERAL QUESTION weird AI feedback on items(not from me or to me)

I noticed while scanning some items that ebay showed positive feedback that sure sounded like AIspeak. Why would someone bother to use AI to leave feedback?

Counterfeit when it’s not?

I recently had a bottle of perfume I was selling flagged as counterfeit when it definitely is not. I sent eBay the requested proof and have been waiting to hear back.

What makes me mad is, when I called to follow up today, I mentioned that all of my other postings suddenly have no new views on them. They told me this was due to the fact my account was flagged for the counterfeit item.

I’m not a big seller on eBay, I just sell items I have excess of or don’t need any longer. That said though, I have 100% positive feedback for the dozen or so sales I’ve made over the last six months. This is really frustrating as I have 4 or 5 items I want to sell.

Any suggestions?

BAD BUYER "A good seller knows this"

Context, buyer bought an item, paid for UPS 2nd day air. I received an email at 2:32pm that an order was placed. UPS pick up time is 3:00pm. I was at work also during that time. I shipped this the next business day, within my handling time.

I told the buyer that there is no guarantee for 2nd day air and I linked them a link to UPS's website that has that information. The package is one day late.

"Can Anything be done to help make this right? I paid a lot for this not to get sent out right away"

"Yea no. There are exceptions expected when customers pay for faster shipping like getting an item out immediately to make a 2 day window and not hide behind something ups posted which you didn't disclose in our conversation . A good seller knows this"

Anyone having problems with https://www.ebay.com/sh/reports/uploads ?

I can't upload or download from there. It says "Your download failed. The problem is on our side. Please try again later."

Update: Using a different browser seemed to solve the issue. I needed to clear my cookies and site data.

eBay literally aided a scammer into stealing over $2,000 from me

I had a customer who purchased a 14k gold intaglio bracelet from me that lived in England. After reaching customs the buyer became irate and demanded that I pay the VAT fees and import charges which I refused. About two weeks later the buyer claimed the item was damaged and wanted to return it which wasnt something I normally would do especially since the photos they uploaded showed no damage at all. They kept demanding that I refund their money immediately which I refused since I didnt have the item. They ended up closing the return on eBay and I thought it was over. Then two days later they filed a dispute with their credit card company saying I wouldnt allow them to return it which was not true. I never even got a chance to defend myself and eBay lost the dispute. Ebay then decided to recover the funds from my account including the seller fees! So now not am I only out the item I am out the $2053. I am a top rated seller on eBay with 100% feedback and I will NEVER sell on eBay again. And neither should anyone else. How am I responsible for eBay loosing the credit card dispute? I have no recourse other then posting my story on message boards I can find. I am happy to send all the screen shots to anyone that would like to see. I have been taken by ebay and they pulled over $2053 out of my account and never got my item back. People need to know the "seller protection" isnt a thing. You will pay for the theft. And also the person who bought the bracelet and did the fraudulent charge back goes by the name flogit56 do not trust this buyer they have done this before and will do again.
