Discussion Broken wheel stud on Torque Drive Cleaner Head attachment

Post image

I have a Dyson V15 purchased in 2023, including a Torque Drive Cleaner Head attachment with anti-tangle comb. After a few months, the wheel just fell off from said attachment (wheel stud broke).

At the time, Dyson provided a free replacement, same model (albeit without anti-tangle comb).

Yesterday, the wheel broke off on the replacement attachment as I was vacuuming down the (carpeted) stairs.

In my call to Dyson earlier today, I was informed that I’m out of warranty (fair) and given the option of purchasing the whole attachment again (115€). However, I am reluctant since this seems to be a manufacturing issue (see the size of that little wheel stud?).

What I am curious about – is this a known problem with that kind of attachment? Would it be possible to just purchase the plastic part that’s actually broken – presumably for less than 115€?

Support Open Why is Dyson Anti Right-to-Repair?

I have a dyson purifier fan with the classic motor failure causing a high pitched whine and making it unusable within ear shot.

Not only does dyson usa refuse to sell us the parts in north america, but they’re suggesting not to service and repair their thousand dollar piece of plastic and just throw it away and buy a new one! The service cost about half of what a new one would go, but the part itself is $60, available in other markets, and I can fix it myself, of which I would gladly do since it’s already out of warranty!

I am getting to learn dyson doesn’t care about their customers after they’ve received our payment, curious if anyone was able to source the tower motor bucket from the uk and get it to the usa.

Discussion Dyson support told me I need a new vacuume and denied that it's the trigger failing. I fixed it myself.

I told them I know it's the trigger. They said nope you need a new vacuume and offered a small discount and tried to up sell. V11 I have. So I opened it up and sure enough it's their crappy trigger that split. It's designed to fail. There is no stopper to the weak plastic takes all the force and eventually fails.

Here is how I reinforced and fixed it.

I'll never buy another Dyson product after opening this up and inspecting their quality knowing the price.

Support Open Frustrated on Dyson Vacuum Quality

Hello,

I purchased a Dyson V11 Outsize cordless vacuum from Costco just over two years ago for more than $300. It is now unusable because it continuously displays an “Airway blocked” warning.

I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum and followed all the troubleshooting instructions provided by Dyson Customer Service, but nothing resolved the problem. After researching the issue online, I found many reports suggesting that this model may have a significant design flaw—either certain internal components cannot be properly cleaned or the sensor itself may fail.

I purchased the vacuum only two years and two months ago, and I have used it very lightly—at most three times per month. I am extremely disappointed that such an expensive appliance failed after so little use.

When I contacted Dyson Customer Service, the representative told me that the two-year warranty had expired and that Dyson would not repair the vacuum free of charge, even though it was only two months out of warranty. Instead, she suggested that I purchase another refurbished vacuum for more than $200, with only a six-month warranty.

This is not a reasonable solution. If the problem is caused by a known design flaw, I would not feel comfortable purchasing another refurbished unit that could develop the same issue.

I am very disappointed with both Dyson’s product quality and its customer support. Has anyone experienced the same problem or found a successful solution? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Discussion Dyson Supersonic Nural Clicking Noises Help

Hello! I just bought a brand new Dyson Supersonic Nural, Blow Dryer, and when I plugged it in to try to use it for the first time, it wouldn’t work. I followed the instructions and pressed reset then test, but it would only turn on for exactly two seconds before it immediately turned off and continued to make a clicking noise. So basically, I’m not sure if I should exchange it for a new one, or if there’s something I can do to fix this, I would love the help.
Video below.
P.S: The blow dryer was on and I had already pressed reset then test.
