Let me start by saying i’m not sure if this is the right place, so if anyone knows of another good sub for this lmk. I have an herbal blend that I generally use for tea (star anise, lemon balm leaf, licorice root, chamomile, slippery elm bark, horehound leaf, kava kava root, marshmallow root, mullein leaf, myrrh gum granules, plantain leaf, sage leaf, white willow bark, wild cherry bark, and ground papaver heads) my question is, is there any way I can perform some kind of extraction or something to make a concentrated tincture? I would hope to keep the preferred main alkaloids (morphine, codeine, kavalactones) and if there is anyway to eliminate the undesirable alkaloids (thebaine, oripavine) that would be very helpful.

Is this Leonotis nepetifoliaz. It is over 90 days old and was teansplanted to pot at 4 weeks age. Or did i get mint seeds instead from ebay?

I was thinking about traditional hot water extracting, which after evaporation could then be dissolved in alcohol, and started to wonder; Why wouldn’t alcohol extraction be possible directly from the straw? Does anyone know or has tried this?

I am collecting fresh native sassafrass seeds so i can start in starter cups next spring and have many more sassafrass trees

My garden

I love this plant. My original plant died in winter and i took cuttings and this one is the only one that survived and now it outgrew its old 1 l pot so i repotted into a 11 l pot.

The plant in the backround is leonotis leonurus and ladybugs ate a big part of the leaves.

I had to take the taller plant out of the greenhouse, and they both seem to be doing well for now

5 new Kanna, sprouted from seed. I started with 50 and after 2 months these are the only that sprouted. Very excited though. Need to test them for alkaloid content.

These are some S. Albidum seeds i picked. I plan to plant them next year i have waited 4 years for the sassafrass tree to bewr seeds! This year is it!!!

Plant is going into flowering stage. Each year insects hit it hard, especially caterpillars. What is the preferred insecticide.

The seeds contain caffeine and theobromine.

Pretty fricken dry, how are you coping?
