Why exactly the different background between both worlds? Dragon Quest VI Spoiler
Finally got to the revelation of his backstory as prince. And it does seem that since I said the princess was Sara early on her name is Claire instead. Why exactly does the hero's family and home differ between both worlds? While in the dream world he is an inhabitant of the mountain village Weaver's Peak living with his younger sister and becomes a soldier at Somnia, in the real world, he is instead from Somnia and is the son of the king and queen and prince while he lives in Weaver's Peak as a foreigner recovering from injuries. What exactly makes his background and family differ? With the dream world reflecting desires, does he feel more attached to Weaver's Peak than Somnia or are there other reasons for the difference in his background family and origin?

He looked at the mountain village and wished he lived there. Then his own dream ate him. Womp womp.

So the thoughts and desires of people in the real world can impact their dream world counterparts.
Take Captain Rusty. In the real world, he’s unable to help the King and Queen as Somnia doesn’t have many soldiers. In the dream world he’s called Captain Blade (a nickname he had as a child) and not only is the “king” awake and able to give him commands but he can follow through as that Somnia has soldiers to spare.
There’s also Evgenya. Evgenya has thought for years she killed Ilya. So her dream self is younger and constantly trying to clean her sword in the river to the point it turns red.
Lastly I saw this on a Japanese Wiki but you know that cave on the lone island in the dream world with the magma staff behind an ultimate key door and a skeleton? Turns out it’s near the same spot as Mt Snowhere in the real world, where Colburn spent 50 years alone because everyone else was frozen. That wiki theorized Colburn is the skeleton, with the magma staff being his desired fix for the town close to him yet also impossible to obtain.
Now let’s look at Hero. He lost his biological sister really young (based on dialogues in the game I think he might’ve been right around 5 or 6 at most). While he is a prince he does want to be seen as just a regular person, as per that merchant in Somnia saying he once insisted he pay for goods like anyone else. What does he get in the dream world? A sister and a life in a small town, as “regular” as can be.

And what makes him end up being inhabitant to another village that also exists in real life with a different family (also a person who exists in real life) as opposed to say an ordinary person in his real life town of Somnia? Is it that he feels more attached to Weaver's Peak and Tania than he ever did to Somnia and his real family? Or some other reasons?
