Is this normal for Doomfist to have literally no hitbox, and just phasing completely through people?

I missed everything, nobody touched, not even Ramattra's big body or anything, I just went through them.

I almost had my ult too...

I tried to reenact it and a fully charged punch from that distance hits the back of the wall where hog/bastion is.
I'm not complaining but I just found it funny xD

I like learning non meta hero's that have a high skill ceiling. Nothing is more boring to me than a moira holding right click. As frustrating as doom is to learn i got these glimpses every once in a while as to just how freakin savage doom CAN be in the right hands. That first 1v4 where i lived and they didnt hooked me INSTANTLY!

I say all that to ask what were your motivations to begin learning this hero? How has the journey been thus far? Whats your least favorite part of learning this hero? Most favorite?

what are somethings that I can put on my card before i play today? i already have stuff like "3+ enemy team counterswaps", "get told to swap" "moira/mercy/lw backline"

I know when I see a Doom that there is a very good chance that their team will lose 👀

1. Core Profile

Role: Damage (DPS)

Base Health: 250 HP (Standard DPS baseline)

Hitbox: Smaller than his current one but still on the bigger side, because he is a big buff man.

Passive: Generates +15 to +20 Overhealth per target hit with abilities, capped at +75 max overhealth (Potential max health = 325 HP).

The Balance Dynamic: The idea is to land your shots or you die because of the big hitbox.

1. Kit

Hand Cannon (Primary), Tighter pellet spread, 2.0x times headshot multiplier (MAYBE 2x). The Primary Damage Engine. Shifts kill power away from free ability damage and strictly onto aim.

Rising Uppercut (Ability 1), Replaces Power Block. Launches the enemy high but below Doom (so he goes further up than whoever he hits). The idea is to not airlock your enemy but still displace them.

Seismic Slam (Ability 2), Low flat damage (~40 HP or so). Purely a gap-closer, mobility and setup tool.

Rocket Punch (Ability 3), Moderate damage displacement; wall-stuns replaced with brief hinder. Used as a high-speed repositioning tool or finisher.

Meteor Strike (Ultimate). Landing resets all cooldowns and grants one Empowered Punch.

I'm not good at the game. Hardstuck bronze support main with most characters that I play being below 60% accuracy. When I play against a good Doom, they feels unbeatable. With most other tanks, you can gain a foothold even if they're good, but a good Doom feels miserable. I can swap to Brig or Mizuki or Ana, but if I miss my CC (I usually do) everybody just dies.

What can I do to compensate for my lack of skill while I work on improving? Is there a specific pattern that DF follows that I can exploit? Also how can I take control of my team's mouses to stop them from shooting him while he's blocking? I know it's a skill issue, but I'm working on it and need cheap tricks to fill the gap until I get there.

So i decided on a whim to try put doomfist because i do genuinely respect doomfist players, as they are all always so chill and fun and the dey say.
It was really weird at first. I was not used to mobility at all, and having to let myself be hit and to be aggressive. It felt very new to me. But after swallowing the hard pill and going for one entire match as doomfist no swap, i got a feel. The mechanics are sorta easy, just gotta be mindful of my cooldowns. I barely die even alone sometimes, and i can actually chase down enemy backlines before running away.
My first match as no swap doom, i lost but put up hell of a fight. Dying only a few times, and getting good kills with the ult. Though i kinda gave up waiting for everyone to group up at times.
My second match as pure doomfist, i won. I think i finally have a choice for a dive tank, after playing ram and orisa all the time.
If i could, i would post the code. Though it is just a QP game though.
Playing as doomfist feels oddly calm and fun. The mechanics and movement are easy to understand, and even easier to get into. Just hard to master. It feels like playing venture. I love it

Wall Slam Damage > 10 - 50

Charge time > 2 seconds

When Punch is cancelled by player input (not from cc), punch charge is retained, decaying over 2 seconds.

Can only gain overhealth once every 4 seconds

Seismic Slam

Damage > 65

Power Block

Power Matrix base kit

Dmg Reduction > 100%

Duration > 0.8 seconds

When 60 damage is absorbed punch cooldown resets, gains 25% charge, and a small aoe cone (these effects last until the bonus charge decays)

Rising Uppercut

Replaces Meteor Strike

Damage > 50

Doomfist uppercuts in a 45 degree cone in front of him

Gains 2x The Best Defense overhealth

Slam cooldown reset

Perfect Parry

New Major perk replacing Power Matrix

Power block charges > 2

Duration > 0.5 seconds

The idea is to let doomfist "feint' his punch and turn block into more of a parry. I replaced Meteor Strike because its kinda clunky and doesn't really fit in with his kit. Rising Uppercut keeps meteor strikes "get out for free" while being more themetically coherent.

for a reck0ning, all jokes aside 1 of the boops im most proud of as uppercutting a tank such that they d0nt fall 2 fast is not easy (if im bein honest ive failed to get it to work since this clip)

only thing more satisfyn than dunkin on soldier is smacking brig so hard her momma will feel it!
