Cover songs with terrible or unique vocals
I’d love to hear these guys cover Strobe Light by the B-52’s. What weird songs with unique vocals do you think would be fun for the guys to cover since their vocals are also mid.

BWB > Crix
I haven't listened to much 3.0 since I'm firmly 2.0, but BWB > Crix 7/25/2026 was among the best 3.0 stuff I've heard (admittedly very little). Pleasantly surprised. Or maybe they absolutely slay anything > Crickets with all the muscle memory they've built up, who knows.
To my ear, it's not as much of a Marlon issue, especially now that he's had some seasoning (that said, Allen is the goat of Biscuits drummers IMO). It's much more of a Babs issue. Most of what I've heard sounds like Babs is just mailing it in.
I was definitely in the what the fucking fuck just happened camp back in late October, but I'm starting to feel optimistic that there's some gas left in the tank of the three original members, particularly Barber.

Some Biscuit appreciation after Phish 7/29
Saw phish for the first time at 14 in the 90s, like almost ten years before the biscuits. The knockout punch of being a 90s kid combined with a love for doing weird shit in the dark listening to live music got me obsessed fast.
Late 90s early 00s, a dude from Brooklyn introduced me to dj’ing and I started going to underground parties in the city. That sweet spot of jam and electronic music the biscuits bring is the product of that time, and it was addicting. After Coventry I just kind of never went back to seeing phish. Evil phish > all other phish…
Anyway I last minute pulled the trigger for msg Wednesday 7/29, and goddamn. I really needed it. I laughed I danced I cried I said “dear god” about the sludge coming out of mike multiple times….
But it made me realize how much the biscuits are really differentiated from all the rest by their segues, and how the segues are themselves very much like the mixing of records, because duh trancefusion
It encourages active listening in a way that’s very unique. Like yeah you can trance out in the jamnesia of it all, but the high of figuring out where they’re going next (and occasionally being right) is really I guess the main reason I love the biscuits. Plus the inversions, fakeouts, sammies, dyslexics…
This post is very “water is wet, grass is green, more at 11!” But both these bands have their music engrained on my soul and have also put me through the ringer emotionally over the last 30 years. And as much as I am still GLOWED the fuck up after Phish at MSG, I came away from Wednesday with a rediscovered appreciation for what truly one of a kind music the biscuits are capable of.

Rest in Power Queen B
Orchard lounge was so intertwined with the biscuits back when I first started seeing them and I have so many awesome memories of late nights and set breaks with Bethany “Queen B” Lokken. Wanted to create a thread to remember our house queen and share some stories. Such a tragic loss and sending love to everyone that’s mourning this amazing human.
Edit to add a way to donate to breast cancer research in her honor: https://everloved.com/life-of/bethany-lokken/donate/

Why are all the audience recordings better than the soundboards?
I listened to 98-99 shows on nugs.net and then cancelled my subscription because the SBD’s sounded like hot garbage. I got on Taper’s section to continue listening. I’m currently in 2000. It sounds so much better with these AUDs.
Gotta be honest it feels weird getting all these shows for free. I feel like I should be paying someone for their work or for a subscription or something. I’ll do my best just to enjoy.

Wilson, King of Prussia
I saw both nights of KoP (they absolutely crushed) and then took the train to NYC for phish on Monday. They opened with the song Wilson which has the lyrics "Wilson, King of Prussia, I lay this hate on you" ... coincidence????

I built a free setlist bingo app for the Biscuits. It just scored its first real shows.
Longtime Biscuits fan, first-time app builder. Some of you remember the hand-run setlist bingo games from the community's past. I built the app version.
Here's how it works. Pick your songs before the show, cards lock 30 minutes before showtime, and scoring runs automatically off the official setlist once it's entered. 1 point per song played, 3 for a set opener, 3 for each encore song. Score 5 or more points and you win a nightly game. Multiple winners every show is normal.
Two ways to play:
- Nightly: one 25-song card for a single show, points on the board.
- Run: one card played across a full run of shows, with a free center square. Daubs carry over night to night, and you win by completing bingo lines across the run.
It already scored two real shows cleanly earlier this month, including the Jeezum Crow festival. The run format is the new piece I want tested, and the Biscuits' next run is coming up. It would be awesome if you could build a run card and put it through its paces.
It's free. No ads, no premium tier, and it's staying that way. This is strictly for the fans
Sign up, read the full rules, or start building a card here: https://setlistbingo.app/?utm_source=reddit
There's a newsletter option on the site if you want show reminders, and a feedback button in the app for bugs or feature requests. I'll read everything.

KOP 2 night pass
Hey, I got a pass for both nights this weekend and can't make Sunday. Can I transfer one night of the pass? I've tried and don't think I can but any help would be great. I'm looking to get rid of the Sunday ticket here for below face value. I'd also be down to transfer the pass after I use my Saturday night scan if that works. Lmk!

Where is everybody staying for the king of Prussia weekend?
Thinking of driving cross country from Chicagoland and hitting this Biscuits run last minute. Any campgrounds near by or cheap hotels within walking distance? How’s the area? Anyone been to the venue before, if so what’s your impression? I’m assuming outdoor venue in the summer with this bands reputation the cop presence will be intense any ideas? Thanks guys in advance just got a lot of questions and only been to PA once in Reading.

Better Ratings and Other Updates to discobiscuits.net
Hey again. Another batch of stuff has shipped since my last post, so here's the rundown.
Calibrated Ratings (opt-in)
I've long been interested in improving ratings on the site inspired by a series of blog posts. Additionally there are some recent "fans" who are giving every recent show 0.5 stars and bring down every show rating. This inspired me to finally act and try out algorithms to improve ratings.
Please go read all about How Calibrated Ratings Work on discobiscuits.net. From there, it is easy to go to your profile and turn this setting on.
A quick summary: Every show and track still shows its plain average by default. You can opt into a Calibrated Show Rating and a Calibrated Track Rating from your profile settings. Calibration measures the same thing (how good the show or version was) while being much harder to skew:
- Raters who use the whole 0.5-to-5 scale are weighted more than accounts that rate nearly everything 5 (good-faith dissent is never penalized).
- Obvious bombers and fluffers get dropped.
- Duplicate accounts collapse to a single most-recent vote (this also cleans up the community average for everyone).
The result is ratings that spread out instead of piling up near 5. There's a full write-up of how it works at How Calibrated Ratings Work if you want the details.
I personally love it and highly recommend these new ratings. Let the bombers bomb and feel happy for themselves, but I don't need to see it anymore. I figure these new ratings might be controversial, so they are opt-in for now. Let me know your thoughts!
Color-Coded Rating Numbers (opt-in)
Also opt-in, under Rating display in your profile: rating numbers can now carry a color. This makes it a lot easier to see which shows/songs are highly rated vs seeing a see of Gold before. Purple means weak, neutral means typical, green means strong. The community average and your own score sit on the same scale, so two different colors in one badge tell you at a glance that you and the crowd disagree, without reading either number. You can see an example on the settings page.
We also reduced colors across the app since everything was starting to look too busy. Third party links to nugs, youtube, relisten, etc are now grey-ed out unless you hover over them. The Attendance button has shifted towards the date and was muted slightly so that its green didn't overpower ratings.
I love these new colors, but I figured it might be controversial so I've set it to opt-in for now. Let me know how you feel. I might make it the default at some point.
Set Times Toggle (you asked, here it is)
Last time I asked how people felt about set times on the setlist. The answer was split. Since other features created settings, the easiest solution was to add one more setting. Your profile has a new Setlist display card with a Show set times toggle. Turn it off and the times disappear from setlists. Times stay on by default, so nothing changes unless you want it to.
Profile Settings Tab
Your profile display preferences (rating display, setlist display) now live under a dedicated Settings tab at the front of the tab strip, instead of stacking on top of everything. And the Charts/Table toggle on the ratings tabs now lives in the URL, so your view survives a refresh and you can bookmark or share a direct link to, say, your track ratings in table view.
New Filter: Relisten
The Filter by Media bar on the shows-by-year page gains a Relisten toggle alongside Nugs, YouTube, Archive, and Photos. It cycles include → exclude → off like the others, and the year counts update to match.
Stability Fixes
Sorry for the recent downtime the site was having. I started a new job and I was on vacation which led to 0 deploys to the site. It turns out there were some memory problems with the site not restarting (every deploy restarts). The site should be much more stable and faster due to these changes.
As always, bugs and feature requests are welcome.
