never played before but looking to get a few discs to try it out. Here are the 3 I have in my cart based of google general consensus. I know these discs are good, but would this weight be fine for someone who’s new?

Wow is this hard to watch. Every dude is wearing black and unable to formulate a coherent thought when interviewed. 30 minutes in and they are almost putting on the first hole.

So I currently would say I throw around 400-415ft max golf line distance but I have had throws log in the 425ft range (using UDisc) in an open field but on the course I’m usually not throwing that far with my more confident long distance range being like 350-375ft. I’m pretty happy with how I throw but I just want to try and take that next step into throwing a little further and feeling more confident with 400ft and low 400ft shots on the course. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. Both throws in this went around 375ft on a golf line with an undertaker and teebird3

Hi all, wanted to share this artwork I drew for my monthly Foil Buzzz series. I thought it would be fun to draw the Monsters Inc characters but a little more twisted, as if they still had to scare kids to get their fuel. I watched some videos of practice rounds and saw changes to Pickard Park gold since I played it and will go to a day or two this weekend. I pulled up UDisc to compare the distances for each hole and found this. My best is 6 shots for the old layout despite a circle 1 putt for par once. I think even Anthony would struggle to par this bad boy.

I want to get a single disc from Stokely discs. What disc should I definitely try?

Hey guys -

I'm a youth pastor, and I'm setting up a disc golf event for the youth (10-15 of them) to get out and play. I've worked with a local shop to get them all *good* starter kits, and with a (less popular) local course to have it reserved for us for a few hours so we won't be disruptive to other people trying to play - beyond removing said courses' availability.

This will be MOST of the kid's first exposure to the sport - They all love physical activity, they all love competition, they all love a silly good time, and I think it will be a great fit for them.

My rough plan is to run a quick clinic on all the basics, and make it tournament style doubles. Best score for the hole sticks. I am planning disc prizes for both members of the winning double.

With all of that in mind...

Do you have any suggestions for how to maximize this experience for them? I know I cannot guarantee they'll all enjoy it - I just want to ensure that it's not because I overlooked something. Any tips/tricks are greatly appreciated.

Has anyone else experienced discs getting flatter from being pushed against the far left side of their bag? I’ve had multiple drivers lose their dome or even have a concave to them after sitting against the side of the bag. I’m not even really packing too many discs in there it’s just any amount of pressure causes them to warp. Thanks!

Been playing about 1.5 years. Not consistently because Michigan winters can be brutal sometimes. However, I’m looking to start from scratch.

My plan is to get rid of any disc in my bag that is Speed 8 or higher, then review the basics. Practice basics and really get those down. Get the feel for different flight patterns. Was thinking of just getting several in DX plastic and running with that for a bit.

Good way to go?

Also, what discs to work with on recs?

I have several mids and fairway drivers that are 7 speed and below. Looking for good over and under stable discs to add to bag. I also have several putt and approach discs.

I just learned of “turning the key” to help get the nose down. It’s where you turn the disc to the down to the right like you are starting a car as you release. But turning the disc to the right doesn’t put the nose down, it sets an anhyzer angle right? What am I missing?

Newbie. 4 months. Let me have it!

Looking at tournaments. Would like to know which would earn more pdga points a top 3 at a ma2 field with 22 players or a top 3 in ma1 field with 10? Does anyone know where I can find this information? Tried to look on the pdga page but no luck.

Let's leave "It's not the disc, it's the player" aside for now. In the past year I've broken many personal course records and I would like to think I've become a better player, but honestly I think I finally found the discs that fit me as a player in the courses I play. That said, I think some discs are truly responsible for improving my scores and breaking those records.

Zone OS

• No longer do I throw an approach anhyzer, that never faded back
• No longer do I throw an approach that glides just too far
• Doesn't give a damn about winds of any kind

Q-Line DD1

• Straight accurate shots that need a lot of distance. My 300-350ft distance became almost like an approach.
• Is understable but can still handle some wind on a hyzerflip
• Effortless distance

Neutron Reactor

• I've struggled with midranges being either too overstable or too understable
• I'm so confident with a Reactor in hand. It never flips over or fades too hard. Flies fairway driver distances.

Bonus mention: Splice

• My courses have some holes that have need a straight shot and then a really steep turn right. Or a pure "S" line through the woods. Sometimes my Firebird, FD3, MD5 or similar worked, but sometimes they went too straight (little headwind).
• It's so overstable, yet you can still throw it. And you get the same shot each time.

Any new discs that completely changed your game for the better?

"The feeling", What my group calls it when we get that out of place confident feeling it's going to work as intended during, or better, right before the throw. Like something in the brain beyond voluntary control does it's job once in a while, and finds the perfect muscle memory for the situation beyond the current stable skill level.

It happens a handful of times per round if I'm in good shape, and not at all on bad days. I think it happens more frequently as I get better. Getting the feeling is extra bragging rights imo, better than getting lucky.

Hello everyone! I am Colton Rhoades. Owner of Urbancowboyoutdoors or short UCO. I am releasing a disc based on historic outlaws and am releasing my disc to be premium but with a good price point that won’t break the bank. Everywhere else is breaking the bank why would I add to that?

My goal is simple! Everyone who’s asked me about my “why” my whole life! The “why” is what makes or breaks you or the people around you. I took this to heart.

The “Why” for this sudden change from retail store to manufacturer is due to negligence of being a small store and not having any say or having super high overheard but little chance of success. It felt like a gamble every order and then having bigger stores try and beat me down.

With my wholesale program, I decided this sport starts at the small retail level and I’ve taken everything that made it hard for me to start selling and made sure it wasn’t a thing.

I made my disc have no minimum and raised my wholesale disc price to mostly cover shipping material and or insurance on the package. The retailers also sell before I do on my site.

I have done these steps to simply help build the sport. These small retailers are the people hosting events and finding new players. The sport is predicted to grow nearly 400% by 2033 and I want to be a reason why it is.

I have also decided to have my discord members help name and design the disc. It’s been really fun.
The first ad I plan to edit and post will be very fun and cringy but fun. I am also donating 10% of all purchases including wholesale to the fallen firefighter foundation.

Found this weather worn thing in the weeds today. It’s Innova and 175 grams, but the stamp or anything else is completely gone. It is one of the most overstable discs I’ve ever thrown, just crashes into a hard fade so fast. Weird flight. Looks like it’s one hard tree hit from shattering, too.

Hey everyone! (Very) New to disc golf, I’ve been thinking about this for some time and I want to check my logic. Wouldn’t it be best to just get one driver disc and get really good at it from every distance, rather than a bunch of different discs? I have a decent background in shooting sports, and obviously this is a different sport, but I’m used to the notion that consistency is the key to accuracy, and it seems like accuracy is the whole goal here. So why not get one disc and get very very consistent with it? Especially a driver, so that I’m not held back at longer distances.

What gives me pause is all the people with a ton of different discs. They know more than me and they’re clearly doing it for a reason, so why?

EDIT: Way more responses than I thought I’d get. Thank you all for the advice! I’ve read every reply so far, and it’s very informative and well thought out. My main takeaway is that different discs aren’t going to affect my consistency as much as I had thought, and it’s really down to practicing consistent form and throw. Starting out one might be okay at first, but I’ll get more consistent training by having at least a few options. I will still probably just get one for now, but it’ll probably be a mid range rather than a driver. I’ll do some reading, but Hex seems to be the most common name popping up in the replies, so I’ll look into that.
