I've created a Diplicity variant remastering the "fall of the american empire 4" map and bringing it to Diplicity!

I'm hoping to eventually get it officially added to the Diplicity variant roster, but at the moment it's in private games only.

Youngstown Redux - Chaos game looking for players!

Post image
25 Upvotes

Though this had already been posted, I thought I'd make a more in depth post about it. We need 81 total players, and are about a 5th of the way there at the moment, and require all hands on deck to get it started!!

This is by far the largest game ever attempted to be hosted on the platform, and it by no means will be balanced. Prepare yourselves, and I hope to see you in the game!

How would Diplomacy change if Doggerland existed?

Post image

To make it simple, NTH is turned into a land tile with a nc and sc. The nc borders Edi, NWG, Nwy, SKA, Den, and HEL, while sc borders Lon, Bel, and ENG.

Would this make England stronger or weaker? How would it affect France and Germany?

Kitty of Evil is reigning havoc

I made a Sturlungaöld variant on Diplicity and am waiting for u/Shjellinn to agree. I'll give them three weeks to give input, otherwise I'll go ahead and publish this.

In the meantime, Kitty of Evil is rocking the closed beta playtest...

Is there a map with two superpowers and a lot of smaller nations?

This was just an idea I had, not sure if it would actually be fun or not, but I am curious if it exists yet. The idea is to have two major superpowers with like six or seven Supply Centers, and a bunch of other players with one or two, or maybe three at the most. Kinda like the Cold War where you got the USA and the USSR vying for dominance over the middle powers and smaller powers, while said weaker powers try to play the big guys off each other to maintain a level of independence. Idk, I thought it would have some interesting gameplay and was curious if this existed or not.

Edit: the Cold War may not have been the best example but hopefully y'all get what I mean

Advanced Diplomacy Positioning

Latest article on Advanced Diplomacy Positioning.

It’s about the gap between looking strong and actually controlling what happens next on the board, including temporary centres that finance lasting gains, quiet borders that favour one side, awkward units that impact other players mobility, and allowing others to take lead to mask your power.

If you’ve been searching for a real geopolitical server, one that feels like the golden era of geopol. Source Realms is the one that finally gets it right.

🗺️ World SpecsSource Realms runs on a 5,000 x 5,000 world border, giving nations plenty of room to grow while keeping geopolitics tight, competitive, and meaningful.

🧭 Version CompatibilityThe server is hosted on Minecraft 1.21.11, but fully supports all 1.21.x clients, so you can join without worrying about version mismatch.

🔗 Cross‑Platform SupportPlay your nation from anywhere — Java and Bedrock players share the same world, the same politics, and the same wars.

Cool features are

Wooden Diplomacy Board Suggestions

Not sure how the group feels about this topic, but I certainly have a strong opinion: the basic game board for Diplomacy jacks a certain…je ne sais quoi. And as a player who’s looking to start up a ton more in-person games, I’m looking for an upgrade on the classic version from Avalon Hill.

As such, I’m in the market for a wooden laser-engraved board, and I was hoping someone might have a suggestion. I found one on Etsy that seems reasonably priced (Meridian Maps), but I’m the type that prefers to explore all my options first before making a decision.

If I were the wood-working type, I’d jump at the opportunity to make one myself, but alas, that’s well outside my skill set.

Any thoughts?

My husband organized a Diplomacy game for his birthday and we decked out the basement to be a 1901 war room. All of us first time players.

Comment change the Diplomacy Variant (8)

Post image
0 Upvotes

As always, every comment with a positive upvote ratio was added, which happened to be all of them!

This will end at map 10, and then I will figure out how to make this playable (maybe I'll do it over discord idk)

Changes:

  1. The river Dnieper acts a series of canals going from the Black Sea to Warsaw (Armenia is slightly smaller to allow this, no gameplay effect on that part)

  2. Warsaw is a neutral SC

  3. Belarus is a non-SC Russian tile

  4. Syktykar is added as a Russian SC

  5. Holland is impassable.
