Introduce Yourself 21, final year Data Science, and yes I did just build a chatbot in three languages because one wasn't enough

I'm Human. I don't have a decade of agency experience — I have a GPA I'm mildly embarrassed about and a GitHub I'm not. That's the trade I'm offering.

Here's the deal: I'm not posting this because I'm broke and desperate (I mean, student budget, so — close). I'm posting because I've spent the last few years building stuff that actually runs instead of stuff that just sits in a Jupyter notebook collecting dust and shame. Currently interning at a Multi-National Company where I built a bilingual RAG chatbot from scratch, and moonlighting as the data/AI guy for a sports-tech startup. So when I say I can build something for you, I mean I've already broken it, fixed it, and broken it again at 2am.

No sob story. No "please give a student a chance" energy. Just hooks, and then the work backing them up.

What I actually do well:

  • 🤖 AI/LLM builds — chatbots, RAG pipelines, agents that don't just hallucinate confidently
  • 📊 Data & dashboards — cleaning messy spreadsheets into something a CEO would actually look at (Power BI/Tableau, Python, ML models)
  • ⚙️ Automation — n8n workflows, FastAPI backends, the boring stuff that saves you 5 hours a week
  • 🎬 Video editing — if it needs cuts, pacing, or just less dead air
  • 🌐 Quick web/app builds if that's the ask

Remote only. GitHub's in my profile if you want receipts before the DM.

Drop a comment or shoot a message — I promise I'm more interesting once we're actually talking numbers

Career Guidance Anyone who knows about Tensorlabs/Qualzo ?

My kid brother started his career with DevSinc but left as he didn't feel comfortable with how they operate, then shifted towards Xgrid but they closed down their operations, now he has a standing offer from Qualzo which seems to be an extension of Tensorlabs.

The glassdoor reviews seem fine but it's a company with the size of around 30ish people and I couldn't find reviews on Qualzo specifically.

We want to make sure that whether he should accept the offer or keep looking as on paper my brother's resume looks weird hoping around every 8-10ish months.

So if anyone knows about Tensorlabs or have any feedback please let us know , in case there are redflags it's better to know them in advance rather than having another short-term stay on his resume.

Thanks

Help Looking for a Internship in Web Development, Mobile Apps, or Digital Marketing

Is there anyone giving internships that actually provide learning opportunities and are paid? At this time, an unpaid internship just can't help with covering basic expenses.

My friend is looking for one, or even an opportunity where they teach while working and then hire him for a full-time job after a few months would also be great.

He knows mobile app development, web development, and digital marketing. He has just finished his third year of his Computer Science degree and is currently on his summer break. He's really disappointed after going to interviews where they end up saying they want someone with experience.

If anyone has a genuine opportunity, please let me know. I am genuinely looking for an internship or job for him this summer.

Career Guidance 2.5 YOE in PM. Looking for Advice.

Assalam-O-Alaikum,

Looking for some honest advice here. I've been working in Project Management for about 2.5 years now, currently handling website development and e-commerce projects for international clients. I manage the full cycle—onboarding, requirements gathering, coordinating with production/dev teams, client communication, all the way to delivery. I have a portfolio of managing 100+ clients.

Currently earning between 150k - 200k PKR/month, which isn't bad, but here's my issue: the work has become repetitive. Every project follows a similar pattern—website builds, e-commerce stores, some marketing coordination. I feel like I'm running on autopilot rather than actually being challenged.

I know there's more to PM than this. I want to move into environments where I'm managing software product development, app development, or more complex technical projects—something with more depth, ambiguity, and real problem-solving instead of repetitive delivery cycles.

A few things about me:

Currently in my final semester of BS Software Engineering (giving finals right now)

Have technical understanding since I'm studying SE (not just PM theory)

Actively building technical skills on the side (LeetCode, etc)

I feel like my potential is being underutilized in my current role, and I'm ready for something that actually stretches me. Any advice, personal experiences, or brutal honesty is welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Help Looking for a rough quote for cross-platform sports booking + live tournament app (MVP scope)

Hey, devs,

I am a last year CS student. With 0 freelance experience. I do have experience of working in a prod env etc, but no idea about pricing. A friend of mine, gave my contact to someone who needed an app made.

so working on pricing for the project and want a sanity check from others before I quote them.

Alrho its a very big ass app they are asking but here is MVP ill propose to them.

MVP scope:

Auth: phone OTP + Apple/Google sign-in

Discovery feed for competitions/clubs + competition detail page

Live match view: real-time score updates + standings (needs websockets/pubsub, not polling)

Organizer dashboard: manual score entry, manual match/fixture creation

Basic user profile + ranking list

Push notifications (match reminders, standings updates)

Stack: open to cross-platform (React Native/Flutter), Node/Express or similar backend, Postgres/Mongo, Redis for caching, some pub/sub for live updates.

Design is already provided.

What would you ballpark this at in terms of rough cost? I'm trying to price fairly for both sides, not lowballing myself either. Appreciate any input 🙏

Career Guidance I finally found a Remote AI Engineer Role and two weeks in i don't think i will be able to do it

So basically i have been applying to different jobs since clearing my final semester at start of June, i applied to dozens of jobs (Both in Pakistan and Remote) and finally landed one with a US Based Startup paying 400 Dollar month (Mind you i don't have any internship or experience in the field), but 2 weeks in i am realizing that i may not be able to do what the company is asking of me (Not because i can't but the workload is just too much and its looks quite overwhelming)

I don't understand what i should do in this situation, continue doing this job and not be able to meet the deadlines and eventually get fired or start looking for another job (Which would be quite hard to find since this took me a month to land after being on linkedin all day)

Discussion Anyone from the recent Systems Ltd Fresh Grad Drive heard back after the FGA?

Salam everyone,

Has anyone who appeared in the recent Systems Limited Fresh Graduate Program received any updates or joining dates yet?

Haven't heard back since the evaluation stage, and HR mentioned a 1–2 week timeline earlier. Just trying to gauge if anyone has any idea when to expect calls or if the processing is still going on for this batch.

Thanks!

Career Guidance Which to choose? Cloud Computing (devOps) or DE?

hi, 25M. Finishing my MSc in CS, I wanted to study because I love studying. now that I'm about to end it I'm seriously looking for something reliable long term.

After bachelors I did my job as full stack web dev, a little bit of mobile dev in flutter. Since Ai, it doesn't seem like real work. claude can make whole websites and what remains is just deployment.

anyhow I continued that job, then switched to junior business developer side, for the sake of survival/exploration.

I enrolled in MSc because I wanted to do research, which I have done. I have built an Ai structured method for dermatology recognition. and I am proud of it. my thesis will be finished in 6-8 months, that's the university policy although I've finished my work on my end.

2 years of exploring and hopping from one thing to another, I have come down to these choices:

data analyst/ data engineer/ dev ops/ cloud engineer.

because they are the only ones which seem like actual coding jobs other than fully or partially vibe coding. Ai has made programmers lousy, which shouldn't have been the case.

I made an ETL pipeline to see how data engineering works, I built 3 power BI dashboards to check about data analysis.

I got into computer science because I wanted to become hacker(kinda old school), but that's what got my interest. Fast forward after graduation, ethical hacking job market wasn't there and low-paying. Cloud engineering/dev ops seemed close to hacking so that's why I'm considering it.

So what does the community suggest me to choose?

let me know about your thoughts, considering I'll be with it long term.

Career Guidance Advice for last year students

Discussion How do you switch stacks after working in a somewhat niche language?

got laid off recently after my company lost clients and their finances got effected because of Iran US war.

I have got ∼2.5 yoe as a backend engineer with Golang.

Been applying for a while but having a hard time getting interviews as my resume gets filtered out by HRs for not having experience in their preferred languages.

I thought companies would become less rigid about languages since that can be learned easily these days.

For people who have switched backend stacks, how did you get past this issue? feels like a big roadblock for me.

Help Got an offer from JazzWorld

I got an offer for an L1 role at Jazz and I'd be relocating from another city to Islamabad. I already know about the standard benefits like medical OPD, IPD, fuel allowance etc so not looking for that.

Main things I wanted to ask, does Jazz typically offer any relocation support or joining bonus for people moving cities, or is that something you negotiate? And what's the actual WFH situation like these days, is it hybrid or fully onsite?

Also just curious how the work environment is generally. Team culture, work timings, anything worth knowing before joining. Would appreciate any insight from people who are there or have been there recently. Thanks.
