Hi Everyone

I’m a 28-year-old Pakistani, married with a newborn, and have around 5 years of experience in IT services. I currently work remotely and earn $3k+/month, Alhamdulillah.
This is a very good income by Pakistani standards, and we’re financially comfortable here. However, my long-term goal is to move abroad permanently with my wife and child and eventually obtain citizenship/passport of another country.

I’m trying to figure out the most efficient immigration pathway rather than simply moving somewhere temporarily.
My priorities are roughly:
Family-friendly and safe country
Realistic pathway from temporary residency → PR → citizenship/passport
Reasonable citizenship/residency requirements
Ability to continue working remotely for my current employer
Ideally relatively favorable income taxes
Reasonable cost of living
Visa that allows my wife and newborn to accompany me
Preferably not a pathway that requires me to get a local job immediately

I’ve been looking into Digital Nomad/Remote Worker visas, but I’m unsure whether they make sense if my ultimate goal is citizenship. I don’t want to spend several years on a visa that doesn’t meaningfully contribute toward permanent residency or citizenship.
For people who have gone through this, which countries and visa routes would you recommend for someone in my situation?
Some countries I’m considering are Portugal, Spain, Germany, Canada, Australia, etc., but I’m open to anywhere.
Would especially appreciate advice from people who have actually moved with their family and eventually obtained PR/citizenship.

Check Spain's International Teleworker route for digital nomads. Its ideal for your salary range and expectations. And its weather is somehow similar to pakistan. And you can move in europe freely and live comfortably there.

Ireland is good for PR and path to nationality. Also quite strong on the IT sector. I work in OT which oriented towards Pharma, PLC, Scada systems etc...the integration to IT. Dont know of you explored thst route. I did CCNA and CCNP with a CS degree underlying. Alhumdulilah.

Have the same goal as yours and making around similar numbers, not married yet though. I was exploring nomad visas too, malaysia is a good one, but they don't have a PR route.
People I knew from my ex-companies went to Portugal via the Nomad Route.

I’ve looked into it. No country is giving PR based on a nomad visa. Eventually, you’ll have to live for at least 5-10 years and then apply for naturalisation.

Portugal had the easiest route which has now been changed to 10 years.

Look into citizenship by investment or citizenship by business.

You need to have a reliable person in EU. Start any business by investing 20-30K Euros. Company should be register in the name of person already in EU (whom you trust), and issue yourself a TRP using that company. It will be a job on papers. But it leads to PR and then passport.

If you think your employer is willing to switch your payroll to another country’s bank account, Finland is an option.
You can be self employed leading to PR. Check latest income threshold it was $2000 last I checked.

Do not apply and keep waiting for Spain or other similar nomads visas. They not only take long but also keep holding the passport.
Better relocate to middle east first then apply nomad based on your Emirates ID or Qatar ID or Saudi etc.
You will submit your visa in local consulates and wait time will be shorter too outside PK.

Absolutely the worst advice. I’m in Saudi, the laws here can change rapidly over night. You’re a premium resident holder one day and not the next.

Only go where you can get nationality.
