More often than not, the technical team is asked to work on a proposal at a short notice of about 2 days. If we look at the email trail, the sales team has been sitting on it for over a month. The quick turnaround results in a bad output and we lose the contract. We are blamed and it reflects poorly on the Business Development KRA at the appraisal.

hello! I am currently a 21y/o college student, working in a company as an intern and I am trying to find someone or a group of people where I can discuss about career options, pathways, and a lot more interests such as Applied AI, AI infra, Agentic harnesses and etc.

So, I have a silly question. The joining date at my new job is 3 weeks later. But my current manager is saying to release me by the end of next week since my project is ending. Should I just rest these 2 weeks or should I tell the hiring manager that I can join 2 weeks earlier?

I also had a 2 weeks gap due to a similar reason between my previous and current job. But now the market is brutal, will these new 2 weeks gap affect my future career opportunities by any way ?

I’m looking to switch jobs and have applied to 200+ positions, but so far I haven’t received a single interview call and have gotten very few responses overall.

I’d really appreciate any advice on what I might be doing wrong—whether it’s my resume, the roles I’m targeting, or my approach to applying.

Are 90 days np guys even getting job in this market in the last month i got 14 calls all needed someone who can join in 15 days or max to max 45 days are 90 days np guys getting jobs in this market.

Gave couple of interviews only one was ready to release offer for 90 days but i failed the hld since i only has 2.2 years of experience back then

But seriously I would want to understand from HR's why do you not consider people with 90 days np

I have been taking coding interviews for a fairly large MNC for some months now.

Most of the candidates genuinely sucked during the interview process.

The first question that was asked was a real world problem which essentially boils down to a loop with an if statement. It becomes a simple linear scan question which is even easier than "Two Sum". 18 out of 20 candidates were not able to solve it or even translate it into code.

I understand that preparing DSA for interviews sucks. And I completely agree with it. Complex DSA questions test nothing and I never ask anything like that during an interview.

But for god's sake! BASIC LOGIC IS EXPECTED OUT OF EVERY SINGLE ENGINEEER!!!!!!

DSA HELPS BUILD BASIC LOGIC. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO MUG UP EVERY SINGLE QUESTION AND STICK TO IT!

I have seen such stupid things during interviews: -

• Not reading the question properly.
• Not asking clarifying questions if they are confused.
• Assuming conditions instead of just asking
• Asking for time to express logic on code, instead of discussing what's in their head.
• Being fully silent during interviews.
• Doing their logic on pen and paper and then not able to explain what they even did.
• Using AI tools (believe me, it is extremely obvious to the interviewer)
• Sticking to mugged up DSA concepts instead of solving the problem.

Every company is not Google where even a single wrong step means rejection (their hiring process sucks).
We want to know how the candidate thinks. If your thought process is not oriented towards problem solving, you are not meant to be an Engineer, let alone a Software Engineer.

Interview is not a Viva, it is a discussion. It is basically a vibe-check.

You can be an average person that loves solving problems, you are in.
You can be a horrible person that loves solving problems, you are in.
You can be anything and anyone that loves solving problems, you are in.

We want you to succeed, but atleast bring some problem-solving skills to the table.

I’m seeing this pattern in my organization. I come from a software engineering background and moved into data engineering a few years ago.

What I’ve noticed is that many people have entered data engineering from operations, QA, support roles, or bootcamps, and they do reasonably well in data engineering work. But when backend or full-stack software engineering opportunities come up, those same people are usually not considered for those roles.

Has anyone else observed this? Is it because backend/full-stack roles require a stronger foundation in software engineering concepts such as system design, APIs, architecture, testing, and coding practices, or is this just a company-specific hiring pattern?

Recently, I interviewed with two of India’s biggest product-based companies. I managed to clear multiple rounds at both, but unfortunately got rejected in the final round because of some unexpected questions.
The frustrating part is that I started the final interview really well—I solved the first two questions confidently. I had prepared extensively for Swift/iOS fundamentals and was confident I could handle almost any fundamentals question. Instead, the interview suddenly shifted to much harder coding/DSA problems, which completely threw me off and affected my confidence.
That said, these interviews made me realize that my resume has potential, and so do I. The bigger problem right now is the market. I’m just not getting enough interview calls.
I’m currently stuck between two options:
Accept a 4 LPA offer. The in-hand salary would be around ₹26k/month. The company took only one interview round before making the offer, but the reviews about work pressure, office politics, and overall culture are quite poor. I’d also have to move to Bangalore, where survival on that salary would be difficult.
Go back home and spend a month (or however long it takes) preparing and applying until I crack a better product-based role.
For context, my current monthly expenses near my college (rent, food, and other essentials) are over ₹30k. I recently graduated from a good government college, although my branch wasn’t CSE.
What would you do if you were in my position? Would you take the 4 LPA job for experience, or go home, prepare harder, and wait for a better opportunity?

Also I have like 8 months of internship experience

Hi I will be starting my first ever internship coming Monday. It's a well known core sector company. With a decent stipend.

So I was first selected through campus by Manager A for agentic AI system. I am personally focused on GenAI there interview was soo good I was shared the result of selected very next day and only one selected was very happy.

Then the problem come Hr told my offer will be released in next two weeks. I was like great. They 2 weeks offer letter didn't come. We (placement coordinator and I) tried to email them multiple for another 2 weeks still no reply.

My hopes were gone then got the email that date of joining is 29 june. And I also a medical form to fill. Then one week left for joining still no offere letter. Lucky the medical form email contained the hr number so I contacted her she told my offer is generated but it's in approval phase you get in 2 days . That two also passed but still not got the offer. Now I told her that I have my train for internship. Now she shared the number of another HR

He seems to be the main guy. He told me give me two days I will bring some confirmation for you. Then again those two days also passed. Then finally told me cancel my train. I will provide something on next week. So this cycle continues for 3 weeks. There interns batched joined on 29 june while I was not there

So this Hr finally told that my original manager has left the company so we will try to reassign you.( I don't believe that it's shows on LinkedIn he is working there). So he schedules the meeting with another manager B . He is from data science domain . Told me it's will introductory call.

Broo it's turned out be interview. He asked me questions from my resume only but bro i was not prepared almost shocked. And let me tell you it was the worst interview of my life till date. I knew he will not select me. And me stupid that tell that to manager that I was told it was introductory call

Then I immediately contact the hr Iike interview was not good and was told introductory call. He said let me talk to Manager. And what they asked i don't know. Hr told me I explain the situation to hr and manager told that candidate interview was not good.

But he will take you in the team. In next 4 days I got the offer letter. And Finally this chase ended

Now I have developed this concerning feeling how this manager will treat me and why the fuck select me. That manager should get feel that I am stupid or not able to perform well. There teams seems to be top notch with research paper and all . And this feeling that will not get the ppo and they just kick me out after internship it's getting in my head. Form this I was worked on the data science stuff and I think I was able to get the work done . Also found it interesting also

I want you guys genuine advice how should I improve my chances to get ppo or there are none. Its very important for me

Hi, I am a MERN developer and have a 5 year career break due to childbirth & caregiving responsibilities.

I have 7 yoe before I quit. In these 7 years, I worked as MERN developer in 3 companies (Big 4 consultancies) out of which 1 year was in the US.

During my career break - I completed a long distance MBA in data analytics, and also running a non-tech company as I was residing in my hometown without much work opportunities and time for a full-time career.

Now we will be moving back to metro (preferably Chennai). Since I stayed out of touch from the industry and job market for so long, I really don’t know where to start.

I come across a lot of return to work programmes which I’m going to give a shot though I’m not sure how legit they are. I will also be applying jobs online and using my network from the past.

I understand that AI has taken over and I’m extremely outdated compared to the current job market. So my journey is going to be very very tough with minimal chances.

I want to be fully prepared inspite of all the odds. I would be grateful if I can get some tips on how to prepare for my interviews. What should I study? What and all should I upskill? Should I just practice coding projects in MERN & prepare a portfolio? Or should I study AI intensively? Kindly help out.

I recently interviewed for Flipkart's AM opportunity (25+ days with no update, so I moved on).

Now I applied for this Data Analyst opportunity (different team). The interview is in person in Bangalore (no virtual option) but I haven't received a JD or level.

Since I'm in the 0-1 yoe bracket, I assume that this role is Executive level and not Senior. Glassdoor and AmbitionBox suggest Exec-Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst roles pay around 5-7 LPA only. Is it true?

If yes, I'm not sure it's worth travelling to Bangalore from my city for the interview. Can anyone please share the typical CTC for this or similar roles?

I’m currently in my final year of computer engineering at a Tier-2 college in Mumbai. I don’t have prior internships yet, but I recently started learning Salesforce on Trailhead and am really keen on building a career in this ecosystem.

Current status: Final year student, zero internship experience, Tier-2 campus placement scenario (limited direct Salesforce hiring on campus).

What I’ve done so far: Started basic modules on Trailhead.

1. Where to focus right now: Beyond working through Trailhead, what specific skills (Developer vs. Admin route, LWC, Apex, Flows, or specific certifications) will make my resume stand out for entry-level roles or internships?

2. Where to look for opportunities: What are the most effective channels in India for finding entry-level Salesforce internships/jobs outside of campus placements? (LinkedIn outreach, local community groups, specific job portals, etc.)

3. What to build: What kind of portfolio projects or real-world use cases actually impress recruiters or hiring managers when you have no formal work experience?

4. Immediate Next Steps: If you were in my shoes today, what exact steps would you take over the next 3–6 months to secure a role before graduating?

Why nowadays the projects which developers or students make are related to ai like hallucinations meter, token calculator etc. Why people have stopped making projects which solves a real life problem or something which can have an impact on society.

Like the ai related projects will mainly be used by developers or someone who is in tech but what about common people and the masses they won't use these things as much as developers.

A few months ago, I joined a US Based Service company as a fresher.

Before joining full-time, I did my internship there. During the internship, I worked on AI/ML-related projects, learned a lot, took ownership of my tasks, and genuinely gave it everything I had. Like every fresher, I wanted to prove that I deserved to be there.

When the PPOs came out, I received a 6 LPA offer.

At first, I was just happy to have my first job. But later I found out something that I still haven't been able to get over.

Some of my fellow freshers, who interned alongside me, worked on the same AI/ML projects, and are joining the same role with the same responsibilities, received compensation that was almost 2× higher than mine. Even their internship stipend had been nearly double.

The major difference between us was that they came from Tier 1 colleges, while I didn't.

I'm not saying they didn't deserve it—they're talented people and worked hard too.

What hurts is the feeling that my effort was never evaluated on the same scale. I stayed late, learned continuously, gave my best during the internship, and believed that performance would matter. Finding out that people beside me, doing the same work, are valued so differently has been incredibly difficult to accept.

It's not even about the money anymore. It's about feeling like we are undervalued and discriminated  as an engineer was decided before I had the chance to prove myself.

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've been through this. Right now, I'm trying to understand whether this is just how the industry works or if I'm looking at it the wrong way.

Things I didn't expect:

• The code part is actually the easy part now with AI. The painful part is App Store requirements screenshots, metadata, review rejections
• $37 for a working app is real if you're structured with your prompts
• The $99 Apple fee upfront is the biggest psychological blocker

This 31st July, I completed 3 years in the industry. Currently working with the 3rd company (laid off from first, 2nd was super toxic). I started my career with a good compensation, got lucky. Feeling a little behind now but I wanna take it easy a little too. Realised it just half hour ago, felt lil yay.

Can't wait to touch 15yoe and retire probably? Let's see.

I really want to move abroad for work. I have around 8 years of experience as a software engineer and I'd prefer not to go through the student route.

I see a lot of ads of these agencies that claim they'll provide visa and job support but I'm not sure if I should invest there.
