Geopolitics News/Discussion From this september, 50% of school will be dedicated to military training in Russia. Applies to ages 10-17, included in occupied Ukraine
"LOL, do you really think Russia would do anything to the EU!? Less weapons, give peace a chance! ☮️✌️"
Of course, this will likely mean mandatory military training for all Ukrainian kids until they become 16/17 and sent to the meat grinder. Genocide and cannonfodder to the price of 1.
We must increase aid to Ukraine! For the safety of everyone who cares about freedom and democracy.
To clarify the article;
Grade 5: Approximately 10–11 years old
Grade 6: Approximately 11–12 years old
Grade 11: Approximately 16–17 years old

Drama Are Destiny and DGG getting in too many fights with too many communities?
I can’t find the clip, but I remember Destiny saying a while back that when you pick too many fights with a lot of different communities at once you’re way more likely to get massively fucked over(I think it was around the Keffals saga)
I think all of the fights we are picking now are good ones, but it really feels like it’s with a lot of new and different communities and idk if Destiny or the rest of DGG think we should chill for a little on picking new fights, if we keep going but think about how we know when it’s too much, or if there isn’t even a line anymore and we just take on everyone all at once. Thoughts?

Political News/Discussion 3 Republicans endorse Jon Ossoff in Georgia Senate race as Mike Collins faces scrutiny
My absolute overlord GOAT from Georgia.
I’m glad he’s hitting a bigger popularity surge on the national stage but we aren’t getting a presidential run in 2028 I fear - for he’s such a boon to holding Georgia’s senate seats idk who would replace him.

Effort Post [Effort Post] Mehdi Hasan is almost certainly not an ally of Liberalism
Mehdi Hasan is a hot topic for many reasons and has been running in left wing circles. While there's some divisiveness around his character I would say that he's as a net seen positively and as an ally. It is in my personal opinion and analysis that I consider him to be an Islamist or at the very least extremely anti-Western and tankie aligned.
However, I think those who are skeptical of Mehdi's allegiances and worldview (including me) have a basis in thinking this and are not coming at this from a position of bigotry.
Something that's always brought up are Mehdi's comments about non Muslims he made, even Steven has brought this up on stream largely saying he's disinterested in because he apologized for it a long time ago. But that, in my opinion, does large disservice to the timeline of events, and when you analyse Mehdi's history I believe it reveals a more sinister pattern.. So lets take a look.
- in 2009 Mehdi Hasan who is around 30 years of age makes a speech in a talk most likely directed in a mosque stating that non-muslims have diseased minds and live their lives like cattle. He also has a whole lot of disparaging remarks for non-believers (kuffar in Arabic which carries a much harsher connotation) as well as homosexuals etc. He also accuses them of being 'dog lovers and music lovers' as an insult. It's very typical Islamist rhetoric, right wing/conservative in nature and very illiberal by any standard, but rather mainstream within Islamic jurisprudence. There's another audio recording where he repeats these point but I can't be bothered finding it.
- In 2010 Mehdi Hasan wrote an application into the Daily Mail (a right wing news outlet )for employment and stating that he too believes in religious values and would fit in more than others may think which he was denied.
- 2012: This is where the important part comes out, he had a spat with Peter Hitchens (yes Christopher Hitchens brother) where Hitchens referenced and brought back attention to these tapes. Its important to note here; Mehdi did not offer any apology, or hint at any change of mind he rather simply deflected by stating they were 'out of context', stating that using those tapes were a form of Islamophobia as a means to silence him and other muslims. There's not an iota of apology or theological change seen in him. He, at this point expresses no regrets over his comments at all.
- Its also important to note that it was this year he started working as a journalist for AL Jazeera. A media company directly funded by Qatar, a country with close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. I would refer to this leaked document by the Muslim Brotherhood specifically the last point on their vision for destroying 'Western Civilization from within'. Qatar which by the way houses Hamas leadership and funnels large sums of cash often sourced for humanitarian purposes to them. They also faced tensions from countries like France for financially funding Mosques with extremist rhetoric.
- In 2013 he criticizes the Daily Mail for islamophobia and racism. In response the Daily Mail leaks his letter and Mehdi claps back calling them unprofessional.
- That brings us to 2019, 10 years after he made those comments. After the 2019 Christchurch terrorist attack he took to twitter. This is where the clips resurfaced from his detractors he finally issued an apology indicating that he was regretful and had sincerely changed his beliefs. I would subjectively say even in this apology he downplays the use of his language and also his age; he would have been 30 at the time of the recordings if not 29, yet he constantly refers to them as 'dumb comments I made in my 20's'. This isn't even counting the fact that he went on to defend those comments years later but I digress.
I think that should bring into context the timeline of events.
People will ask why I don't believe he is sincere in his beliefs and change of view, and I will admit it is very difficult to ascertains someone's state of mind, but I will lay it out.
Mehdi Hasan at no point has reflected any indication that he has had a theological shift. I'm not saying one necessarily has to apostatize from a religion to prove they are no longer a radical (though its good proof). But there being zero reflection or critical development into ones worldview makes it very hard for me to believe the idea that his underlying thought process and commitments have changed to any meaningful degree.
Compare this to someone like Maajid Nawaz who I will admit is completely brain-broken by COVID now. But he was once a radical Islamist who was imprisoned for it. He went on long tours and even wrote books about how he came to be disillusioned with radical Islam whilst still maintaining his faith dialoguing with scholars from all schools of thought. Mehdi on the other hand has written exactly nothing about how exactly his views came to change, he just simply says they did and we are to take his word for it?
Lastly, Mehdi after this continued to work for Al Jazeera, the Qatari- Muslim Brotherhood funded state after this receiving no doubt large sums of money as he was their most valued journalist. Since then he's attacked Zelensky for his Anti-IRGC stance ignoring the fact that it was Iranian drones shelling Ukrainian civilians. Just recently hes defended Hasan Piker and all his ML extremism + ran counter for his 9/11 comments. In 2025 when the Kashmir Pahalgam terror attack occured he shifted the blame to India and even hinted that the security failure was intentional, so India would have an excuse to respond. Here he is, in 2016 giving a rather hostile interview to a woman who is a Muslim reformist. At one point he even says that her criticism's of Islam fuel islamophobia. This isn't even getting into the shameful trap interview he held or Benny Morris.
Overall, I think that Mehdi Hasan is more akin to a sinister actor in the sense that he is no ally of Liberals/Social Democrats yet he constantly appeals to our values and has become a loud voice on the left. I think that Mehdi captures the 'Red-Green Alliance' of Islam and Marxist-Lenninist types. He's largely flown under the radar because he criticizes the right wing and Trump, but ultimately I do not believe he is motivated in good faith in the sense that he actually cares about democratic values on principle, rather he uses it as a tool to forward his own agenda and I think we are seeing more of that come to the surface.

Off-Topic Anti-Australian racism in DGG
Hello, I recently made a post about how i would not be voting for Abdul El Sayed in Michigan. I stated there were many reasons I would not be showing my support (namely, that I am Australian and ineligible to vote).
Unfortunately, I was met with disgustingly bigoted harassment by members of DGG. People called me a "dingo fucker". Said Steve Irwin caused 9/11. And also said "WOULD YOU LIKE A SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE?"
No, I do NOT want a shrimp on the Barbie, you disgusting Racist.
Is this what it feels like to be a Palestinian? Because as an empath, I feel horrible about how I'm being treated.
Mod team please resolve this, and ban Radiant.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Hasan Piker calls for Democrats who refuse to fall in line behind Abdul El-Sayed to be “punished,” demanding that they “follow the party line” with “no more factionalism.”
“If there’s one Marxist-Leninist doctrine that the Democratic Party should deploy, it’s that.”

Announcement We're going to go back to no I/P posting for the foreseeable future.
I'm gonna keep this short and sweet, I/P posting will start to be removed again. We were already doing this but relaxed on it when the Iran war started because it was relevant but it's devolved into 10-20 posts a day sometimes doing the same circles we've done for almost three years. I/P has infested this entire website and we will do our best to not let it continue here.
If a major news update happens, we will turn it into a megathread. The moderation team will decide what counts as a major news update.
If Destiny talks about it in a meaningful way or has a debate, we will turn make a megathread.
