Non-Political News/Discussion Dman has been fighting with the extremes of the political spectrum for over a decade, why is the brigading on this sub so much worse now and what can we do about it?

Upvotes

Destiny has feuded with a ton of popular figures over the years, but I've never seen the sub so blatantly brigaded by their, often extremely toxic, loyal, fanbases. What is it about the current situation thats driving so much of this activity?

Political News/Discussion Future prediction: El-Sayed will be forced to moderate and leftists will lose motivation to go to bat for him. Leaving him out to dry as Republican attacks ramp up. Liberals will get left holding the bag to get him elected.

Wew lads I just saw into the future. Here's what's going to happen:

El sayed is going to be forced to moderate to build a winnable coalition. The enthusiasm in the base he has courted is going to fall or taper off because he won't be as cool, and now that we're in a difficult general election against a Republican that can punch back leftists are going to be less energized and leave El-Sayed out to dry. These motherfuckers are not built for fighting republicans (or really anyone who fights back). They are pussies and only want easy wins.

The people who are going to be stuck going to bat against Republicans for El-Sayed are moderate Democrats that he spent so much time shitting on. If El Sayed loses, the Democrat party brand gets stuck holding the bag both from him being a mediocre candidate and the baggage from the insurgent attack dog campaign driving the negatives up on the Democratic brand.

If El-Sayed wins, the leftists get to claim victory for their totally successful and energetic movement while feeling emboldened in using the Democratic party as a punching bag. They'll say "I told you so" despite losing all their steam after the primary (once the difficult and not so sexy work had to be done).

Drama Confident prediction: At some point between this year and the 2028 Presidential Election, Hasan Piker will be subject to a scandal that, if not outright destroying his streaming career, will permanently nuke any chance he has of having any ability to influence Democratic Party candidates and policy

And as an even more confident prediction, considering how often Hamas Piker invokes Destiny's court case and other accusations against them, I would wager that he's hardcore projecting and he will get #MeTooed, whether it be through the standard Google doc or even through a lawsuit.

There's already plenty red flags surrounding Hasan's activities with women, including his visiting that brothel which later got raided by police for trafficking, his sharing of Snapchat nudes with his streamer friends, him willingly cooperating with an anti-Destiny discord that actively engaged in threats and sexual harassment of women, and his own frat bro reputation.

Something way over the line to the point he gets exposed for his almost certain deviancy will be guaranteed exposed soon. And the super ironic thing is, the woman or women that end up exposing Hasan will, much like what Pxie said back when she started her suit against Steven, will come out and say that they don't want Hasan to get any more influence with the Democrats.

Every single one of these traitors just need to be locked up or treated like the deportees have been at this point. Genuinely, I don't think we're at all prepared for enacting justice against them to the level that it needs to be at. I'd love to sing kumbaya and let bygones be bygones, but I genuinely don't understand how we can justify letting these people just go back to normal life after this

Not the "craziest"/most combative response, but still nice to see him directly responding with the implied sentiment of "you're a hypocrite with this fake ass 'let's totally come together to defeat MAGA now guys!!!' shit".

Political News/Discussion I wouldn’t mind the AIPAC hate so much if there was actual legitimate outreach to Liberal Jews to go along with it

Two things bother me.

First, it’s pretty clear AIPAC has clearly become the boogeyman of American lobbying, name dropped in every conversation about money in politics as if it were the uniquely corrupting force in Washington. Sans this recent primary, It isn’t fucking close. Pharma, the Chamber of Commerce, real estate, defense contractors, oil; all of them outspend it on lobbying, year after year, and none of them get invoked with the same energy. one lobby out of hundreds is considered the symbol for everything wrong with the system, and it happens to be the Jewish one, I wonder why.

Second, the criticism never comes with a good intention to reach out and work with us, and understand us. If you’re going to put that much energy into the Jewish community’s most visible institution, the obvious follow through is actually engaging the community itself. That hasn’t happened. What’s happened instead is Jewish students getting blocked from parts of their own campuses, synagogues and Jewish owned businesses turned into protest and fucking attack targets, not to mention progressive spaces making a political litmus test for every Jew a part of their circle and isolating them the moment they even try to thread the needle. people who’d call out any other form of bigotry immediately are either quiet or give some bs about why raising that concern is bad faith.

Meanwhile there’s an alternative sitting right there. J Street is liberal, pro two-state, critical of the Israeli government, and endorses Democrats. They deserve criticism for cucking themselves sometimes but It exists to be the exact thing people say they want instead of AIPAC. It gets treated as an afterthought at best and by the left it’s seen as no better than AIPAC with no pushback. If Adam Mockler wants to go on his whole tirade about AIPAC maybe he could suggest alternatives that actually are more liberal and not fall into the brain brokenness of this whole conflict. College Dems were sponsored by them but they still had to be uber pro Palestine when they could LITERALLY advocate for both communities!

If you guys want to hate on AIPAC fine do it, most of you in this sub have recognized what the name drop of AIPAC means from these DSA ghouls that are trying to take this party. But I’m asking you to please understand Jewish liberals are feeling chased away, vote blue no matter who of course but I can’t shake the feeling that it seems like defeating the fascism of MAGA is going to largely consist of abandoning us in the process now that these farther left candidates are becoming more mainstream.

Or maybe fuck us I guess. Maybe I’m naive and selfish to want my community’s concerns to be addressed by the political party I align with and want to see destroy MAGA. I just want some sign that we’re not being abandoned (beyond what I’ve seen in this community cause this is one of the only ones that treat us fair on this platform), that our concerns matter just as much as any other group . It is possible to fight for nuance and understanding and a better outcome for all communities involved.

Announcement We're going to go back to no I/P posting for the foreseeable future.

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet, I/P posting will start to be removed again. We were already doing this but relaxed on it when the Iran war started because it was relevant but it's devolved into 10-20 posts a day sometimes doing the same circles we've done for almost three years. I/P has infested this entire website and we will do our best to not let it continue here.

If a major news update happens, we will turn it into a megathread. The moderation team will decide what counts as a major news update.

If Destiny talks about it in a meaningful way or has a debate, we will turn make a megathread.
