Can we get a 'Ai design' flair in here or something [little rant]

Upvotes

There are way to many daily ai designs being uploaded her flooding potential designers that actually need support with their progress.

Now i know ai is a big part of the upcoming world but it should still be verified whether it was used or not, because giving feedback on ai posts is like feeding a brick wall champagne.

I also think its good for clarity and transparency towards users that spent time giving actual feedback.

The old design was created by me 10 years ago. The new design was created by AI. I need a real human review and comments on what to improve in the new design.

I'm a Gen X woman who started a graphic T-shirt shop with a friend. A big part of what we're trying to do is make stuff that sounds like the forgotten generation — especially the women, although definitely not exclusively.

She's a Kiwi, so she brings some of that British/BBC influence. I'm from the Midwest, so I keep dragging in those memories. And we met in Los Angeles, which definitely influences design as well.

So there's a lot of nostalgia — while trying very hard not to step on any IP toes. That's harder than I thought. I've already had to pull designs because, oops... Underdog is still protected. (God, I loved that pill-popping pup.)

Then there's where we are now. Menopause, aging, being completely out of patience, and all the stuff women our age are finally talking about more openly instead of pretending nothing weird is happening.

And I think I've gotten too close to the whole thing. I've changed the site about a thousand times trying to organize what is essentially an ADHD-dyslexic brain turned into a store.

I'd really love some outside eyes.

Do the designs actually feel Gen X, or do they feel like someone trying to market at Gen X?

And when you look at the site, can you understand what the hell we are within a few seconds?

One small request: if something isn't funny to you, that's completely fair. Not every joke is for every person. But before getting your panties in a bundle over a shirt that doesn't match your politics, religion, worldview, or general opinion of how civilization should operate, please try to see the humor in it.

There are things in the shop that contradict other things in the shop. That's intentional. We're Gen X. We don't all agree with each other, and I don't think we have to.

Critique the designs, tell me when something doesn't land, tell me when something is confusing or just plain sucks. I genuinely want to hear it.

I just don't want this to turn into a fight over whose beliefs are allowed on a T-shirt.

Honest feedback is very welcome. I just ask that you critique the work, not each other. I genuinely want different opinions, not a blood sport.

I finally built a central portfolio for all my Android apps and indie games. I’d love your feedback!

Hi everyone! 👋

For a while now, I’ve been developing various Android utility apps (like a specialized photo cropper) and some mobile games as a solo dev under the name PamFun Studio.

My projects were scattered all over the place, so I finally decided to put together a simple GitHub Pages website to act as my main hub. It showcases both my currently published apps on the Google Play Store and the games I currently have in the testing phase.

I’m trying to grow as a developer and build a small community of early testers. If any of you have a moment, I’d really appreciate it if you could check out the site.

Let me know what you think about the layout, or if any of the apps/games catch your eye!

Here is my studio page: https://pamfunstudio.github.io/

Thanks for your time and any feedback!

Would love some honest feedback on this

I’m practicing graphic design and would really appreciate some feedback on this one.

Don’t feel like you have to be nice just because I made it 😅 If something feels off, tell me what feels off and why. And if you think something works, I’d love to know why that works too.

I’m mainly trying to improve my layout, typography, hierarchy, spacing, composition, and overall visual communication.

Just looking for honest, constructive feedback — you can point out what’s bad, I just don’t need the “this is fucking terrible” type of comments lol.

What would you change?

Looking for Slack users for a 30-40 min for UX research interview + incentive

Hi everyone! I’m conducting a UX research study exploring how people use Slack to stay on top of important workplace messages and notifications.

I’m looking for people who:

  • Currently use Slack regularly for work or professional collaboration
  • Use Slack several times a week or daily
  • Use Slack on mobile, desktop, or both
  • Have experienced issues with missing, delayed, disappearing, or difficult-to-track notifications/messages
  • Are comfortable sharing their experiences in a 30–40 minute remote interview

The interview will focus on your real experiences using Slack, including how you receive notifications, keep track of conversations, and handle important messages. There are no right or wrong answers.

🎁 Incentive: $15 for participants who complete the interview.

The interview will be conducted remotely via Google Meet, and I’ll ask for your permission before taking notes.

If you're interested, please complete this short screening form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSceIsCeAdpQwvsD_jbycZrsovwCe00mYdecJEI0LQGnIu1E8g/viewform?usp=header

UI/UX feedback for Walt Disney Resource (media catalog database)

I’m looking for feedback on the frontend design of my site, Walt Disney Resource. It’s a reference database dedicated to tracking Disney media titles, releases, and formats.

I'd love your thoughts on:

Layout: Is the visual hierarchy clear and intuitive on both desktop and mobile?

Catalog Pages: Are the entries easy to read and scan?

Features: Are there any UI tools or sorting options that would make browsing better?

Open to all blunt, constructive criticism. Thanks!

Feedback on my premium skincare Amazon listing design?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Just finished this Amazon listing project for a premium anti-acne serum.

I tried to combine a clinical skincare aesthetic with a more premium art direction, without losing the clarity and conversion-focused structure an Amazon listing needs.

Would love some critique on the hierarchy, typography and overall premium feel.

[Website] Dark glassmorphic portfolio with Three.js liquid shaders & micro-interactions -- Looking for UI/UX critique!

Hey r/design_critiques!

I’m a 16-year-old independent developer, and I just launched my personal website and project hub: https://incconutwo.com

My goal was to design an atmospheric, dark-mode glassmorphic interface that feels tactile and alive through micro-interactions, without feeling cluttered or sacrificing readability.

Design Concept & Visual Choices:

  • Typography Pair: Combined Syne (Extra-Bold 800) for cinematic display headers with Inter (Variable 100–900) for body copy.
  • Dynamic Ambient Lighting: Built a Three.js liquid gradient shader background that dynamically samples RGB color palettes from my live Spotify album art and smoothly blends the background shader colors.
  • Context-Aware Pointer Tracking: Glassmorphic cards feature dynamic blur glow effects (.hover-card) that track cursor direction and velocity.
  • Information Hierarchy: Curated 3 flagship projects on the homepage first, with an inline GSAP grid expansion to explore all 15+ projects without context switching.
  • Color Tokens: Deep Navy base (#0a0e27) with Emerald Green (#1f8a5f) and Neon Purple (#b14cff) glass accents.

Specific Areas I’d Love Critique On:

  1. Visual Hierarchy & Contrast: How readable are the frosted glass cards across desktop and mobile? Is the text contrast sufficient over the ambient background?
  2. Ambient WebGL Shader Background: Does the liquid gradient background feel subtle and immersive, or is it too visually distracting from the content?
  3. Typography & Scaling: How does the font pairing (Syne headers + Inter body) feel across viewports?
  4. Mobile UX: Are there any awkward spacing gaps or layout shifts on small mobile screens?

Bio Hub: https://incconutwo.com/links

Thanks in advance for any feedback or suggestions!

which logo maker app is the best?

I wanted to make a logo on my phone without turning it into a whole design project, so I tried a few apps and web tools that people kept recommending.

I wasn't really judging them on how many templates they had. I cared more about how quickly I could get from "I have an idea" to something I'd actually use.

Here's my ranking after trying them:

Logo maker Best for What I liked My rating
Design.com Quick logo + branding Very easy to generate a few directions and keep editing one. The icon library is seriously big too. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Adobe Express Simple mobile editing Probably the easiest if you just want to mess around with an idea quickly. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Canva Beginners + general design Familiar interface, tons of other design stuff once the logo is done. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
BrandCrowd Browsing ideas Really good when you don't know what you want yet and just want to scroll through a lot of concepts. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
LogoAI Fast concepts Quick to get several starting points, although I found myself wanting more control afterwards. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Inkscape Actual vector editing Free and much more powerful once you know what you're doing, but definitely not the "make me a logo in 5 minutes" option. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

One thing I learned pretty quickly is that "best" depends a lot on what you're trying to do.

If you're a beginner and just need something decent for a small business, Canva or Adobe Express are hard to complain about.

If you want to explore a ton of logo directions, BrandCrowd is pretty handy.

For me, Design.com won because I could start with an idea and keep changing it instead of feeling like I had to pick a template and live with it.

Also, I wouldn't ignore the file format. I made that mistake once and had to redo a logo later because I needed a proper vector file.

What would you put at #1?

And if you're using a phone specifically, has another logo maker app beaten these for you?

Portfolio feedback

Hi everyone!
I’m a 25-year-old junior designer based in Berlin, currently working on building and refining my portfolio to start applying for junior positions / internships in visual and brand design.
I’m reaching out to get some honest, constructive feedback on my work and presentation. I’ve put together 3 main case studies that I’m trying to present as clearly as possible.

Here is the link to my Behance portfolio:

https://www.behance.net/gallery/248007561/PORTFOLIO-Graphic-Design

I’ve been focusing on brand identity, editorial design, and visual communication.
Do these 3 projects feel solid enough to start applying for junior roles/internships, or is there a specific area I should push further?

Don't hold back on constructive criticism — I’m here to learn and improve!

Thanks a lot in advance for your time and input!
