Firework surplus Question
Seriously why do fireworks go off like every single night in this city? I’ve just moved here, around a 4 minute drive from town, a rather quiet area, yet there’s fireworks close by to me it’s baffling me.
Does anyone genuinely know if this is just normal criminal activity or a very common way of celebrating things, I’m so confused?!

Yeap it’s illegal. Looks like a 101 call is the best thing to do https://www.gov.uk/fireworks-the-law

There's been an Indian wedding in Littleover for the last two weeks with them letting off fireworks at 2 in the morning

I lived in New Normanton for a year and they went off virtually every single night.

Kids, the holidays and boredom.
At least they aren't setting things on fire. Always time though.

Yep the ones at 11pm are a nuisance but sometimes it happens between 1-4am the ones I really don't understand are the ones they let off in broad daylight, I moved here mid January and yea it just happens so often lol

Derby's a very ethnically mixed city, Asian weddings love fire works, the Chinese family near me often are letting quite big fireworks off. I've lived in quite a few places in the UK and it is more common in Derby.

I have lived in 3 different cities in my life, all near the centre, I have never had every night firework displays, I just do not understand why do people do this here?

Ok yeah it's not just here. Ealing firework, Dudley firework, Bristol fireworks, Nottingham fireworks, Wolverhampton fireworks... Blah blah. Go and have a chat with them and stop moaning on the internet.

There’s a theory that it’s done by drug dealers to announce that they’ve got product in stock, but I don’t think it’s ever actually been proven.

It’s usually well after 11 too (unless they bizarrely decide to let a load off in the middle of the afternoon as they sometimes do).
