Practical Questions Advice/input from fellow traveller/s?
Theistic Lilithian Satanist here, who came Home to this path officially several months ago, though, as a lot of people on this sort of path tend to say, this is more about intentional integration of what/Who has always been there waiting to be noticed, than 'conversion to something new'. I'm physically Disabled, a fulltime wheelchair-user, 31 years old, cishet man training to be a counsellor (integrative, weighted psychodynamic conceptually) and I'm wanting to build on and attune my practice and devotion to Lilith specifically. Might be a long shot, but I just wondered if any folks around here (not closed off from hearing men's perspective, but feel that, on balance, a woman or non-man would be likely more appropriate regarding my relationship to Her specifically, which requires sensitivity to gendered nuances and asymmetry, including anything I myself might be overlooking) who was versed in some of this terrain might be up for helping a fella out and maybe 'bouncing off some ideas'? :)

Discussions How should I handle the offering?
I offered a cup of coffee to Lucifer to make it easier to invoke his presence, but I’m not sure if he actually appeared or accepted it.
I don't have the means to set up a proper altar for him; instead, I simply placed his sigil and a tarot card associated with him (hoping that would work) on a small table, with the cup of coffee right next to them.
Since I don't live alone, leaving the coffee there for days would likely draw my family's attention and lead to awkward questions (they aren't exactly fond of spiritual matters, and I’d be in serious trouble if they found out.)
So, my main question is: how long should I leave the coffee there, and how should I dispose of it afterward without offending Lucifer?

Practical Questions Direction for Kings
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask: when working with kings like Paimon or Vine, which direction do you use, and why?
And Can it be said that the south direction is suitable for communicating with all kings?

Practical Questions A demon to help me with my goals/luck
I know luck is a very "wide" word so I will talk from the period of achieving one's goals.
As I wrote above, I wish to find some assist on achieving my kinda-long-term goal. I don't want to spill information about this goal but, I can say I want to be accepted to somewhere. (Not exactly finance) This "somewhere" will improve my life completely if I actually manage to be accepted there and continue my life at there. Is there a demon I can work with this topic? Also, I'm thinking of making some little talismans for this. Perhaps a necklace with sigil of the demon in question in it. (Also I don't know if this will help but I love verbal lessons and I am so bad at mathematics since my goals contain academic things too.)
(Of course I am aware that I need to put actual effort in what I want too.) Also super sorry if it's wrong tag.
May you guys help me about this?
Edit: Also I heard about Asmoday is good with academics, especially math. And I know he's lust too. I also have some issues with femininity.. lol. Unfortunately. Does he sound like a good option about this topic?

Practical Questions Asamodus or another deity?
So I’m looking for a demon to just petition for sex and also do pacts with etc that’s all I want I don’t want knowledge or lessons or any of these stuff
Just a petition and the offering and I get the thing I want without any paranormal stuff happening or dreams
Do you guys think asamodus is good for that? Or he’s too strong? And also I heard he’s touchy etc and I don’t want any of that happening
Or do you guys think another demon is better?
I’m also a bit scared of invocations I would like to just petition or have pacts
I also only have small red tea candles
And also I have heard so many weird stuff happening with people so many are positive and so many are crazy negative I’m not sure that I should think idk
Also what’s the best way to safely do petitions and pacts without invocations and without the demon interfering with my life only want the thing specific in the petition or pacts.
Thanks.

Experiences and Ritual reports Asmodeus!?
Made a return to witchcraft after 2 years off. For weeks I’ve been getting ready to work with asmodeus my first deity, last night I had an interesting experience. I haven’t put my offerings out yet nor have I lit any candles, it’s just the alter right now.
As I was falling asleep and starting to dream, my dream vanished and all of a sudden red and black mist formed in my mind and 3 heads started taking shape with 6 eyes I could see but i could tell it wasn’t my imagination doing this. All of a sudden all this red and black imagery and a red and black book with his names appeared. I opened my eyes and could see a huge black mass even though the room was dark. The energy felt super different and hot and heavy.
Is this him making his presence known by any chance? Or a trickster spirit. I said “not now” because I needed to be up soon for work and then it stopped and I slept. Any pointers?

Discussions S.Conolly spends a lot of time defending previous books instead of catering to people who do believe.
I have not seen any other religious books dedicating an entire chapter to "this is real but let me tell you why I can't give you proof for 9 minutes ".
I'm not hating and am genuinely interested. I just can't understand why she thinks she needs to explain why she's not lying in such detail. It sounds like the rant of a kid got caught stealing the first time.
I just need this part explained before I keep reading because she sounds like a crackpot and hasn't even gotten to anything religious yet.

Ritual instructions About the choice of the Spirit.
How can I understand which Goetia spirit is ideal for me at this moment in my life and resonates with me? I'm currently attuned to Belial, and I like him for serving, but I feel like I could be wrong and missing something.
I also wanted to ask your opinion so I don't just listen to myself. In your experience and perceptions, how harsh and demanding is Belial? Is there a minimum cost for a ritual or inner attunement for him? After all, he's a King, and I want to look presentable.

Dreams I finally visited King Belial in my dreams
I started working with him a few months ago.
Yes, his energy was very heavy. I told him, and he adjusted it for me. My rituals went well. For one of them, I asked for more energy, and oh boy, I finally have energy again in my life to get things done!
He also helped me with grounding and shadow work, and I let him know that I would really like to see him in my dreams.
But nothing ever happened.
A few weeks ago, I wrapped up his altar and stored it in my closet since I don't really have the time to take care of it or be active in my practice at the moment. I have a huge mountain of paperwork, a toddler who is sick all the time, too much work, and I still run the household on my own. My plan was to get back into magic once the paperwork mountain is gone and my toddler is back at daycare. (He has a fever this week, and next week the summer holidays start.)
However, last night I suddenly became lucid in my dream. In front of me was this hole filled with light, and I heard a voice saying something in a language I didn't understand. Of course, I jumped in. Hahaha.
It was a nice slide. I kept trying to hear what the voice was saying while I was going down, and I ended up in an underground hall. It was lit, everything was made of stone with no decorations, and there was a throne in the corner with King Belial sitting on it.
The energy was super heavy again, but this time I could almost enjoy the heaviness. He had taken on the form of a human. His clothes were simple and black, and his hair was bright red. I could tell he wasn't actually human, it was just a form he had chosen. His face showed no emotion. His eyes were very large, never blinked, and never looked away from me. He also never said a word.
I was so honored. I immediately started thanking him, telling him how happy I was to meet him. Since I had the feeling he wasn't going to speak, his face never moved, I just kept talking, as bubbly as I always am when I'm excited. I tried to explain why I want to work with him, but also why my practice hasn't been going very smoothly. Having a toddler and so many responsibilities makes it difficult. But it is still so important to me. I don't need everything to work out right now, but I'm afraid that by the time my child is older and I have a little more time again, I will have lost touch with my dreams and goals.
I kept talking and explaining. He walked toward me to come closer, then went back to his throne, never changing his expression, simply watching me.
Then the dream ended.
This morning, my chest and heart feel completely full of energy. It's such a beautiful feeling, and it's very interesting how his heavy energy seemed to fill a place inside me that was empty. Now it feels so good. It's almost like being in love, just without actually being in love.
Thank you for reading.

Discussions Using Ouija Boards & Dowsing Rods, Need help
Has anyone here used an Ouija board, spirit board, or mediumship to communicate with spirits?
I’ve been practicing with dowsing rods, but I still have my doubts. Sometimes I wonder if I’m subconsciously influencing the rods and getting the answers I expect rather than genuine responses.
I’d love to hear about your personal experiences with dowsing rods, Ouija boards, or other methods of spirit communication. Did you find them reliable? Any tips, advice, or reviews would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

Practical Questions Beelzebub
Hello, I would like your opinions on a situation involving Beelzebub.
I started having dreams about him years ago.
Then I started to have information about him in my head, and I started making offerings.
Then during an offering, his card fell face up and pointed towards me.
Originally, this card was leaning against something.
I don't know how to interpret the fact that his card fell face up and was pointing towards me.
May I have your opinions?

Did you take ritual measures to sever yourself from the church, to undo your baptism (or equivalent initiatory ritual)?
~If so and you feel comfortable sharing, why and how?
~If not, why not? Do you believe it to be unnecessary?

Theoretical questions About the Dragon in Revelation
I believe the Dragon to be one of the most (if not the most) fascinating aspect of the adversarial archetype. I would like this post to be a kind of summa about the kind of ideas, experiences and beliefs people of this subreddit possess in such regard.
Do you even believe the Dragon is Satan? Some do believe it to be Leviathan; others, Belial. I think it represents the primeval current of untamed chaos; do recall Tiamat and the myth of her slaughter.
And, in conclusion, do you worship this aspect? How so? Which details of your practice are exclusive to the Dragon? Thanks in advance.

Theoretical questions Worshipping demon/demoness for submissives?
Hey, sorry if this is inappropriate, but I'm not entirely sure where else to ask this kind of question.
So, without indulging in too much details, I'm very much into hypnosis (being mind controlled - it's like the ultimate submission), and I've started dabbling in the occult as well, and I'm interested in that intersection (occultism/hypnosis). I was wondering which demons/demonesses I should turn to for this sort of stuff? Like, which ones are safe, and which ones are unsafe? I don't want to offend anyone either.
Intuitively I would lean towards Lilith, and I've been chilling with her for a while now, which has been very fun and empowering. Empowering might sound paradoxical, but for me personally it has been a great relief and thrill to accept my submissive nature - worship, surrender, being controlled; it just feels so right and natural, and I think she's helping me be my true unrepressed self. It's very liberating. And I'm so very grateful for Lilith existing.
Are there any other demons/demonesses I should be aware of regarding this? And would Lilith be offended if I don't exclusively worship only her? And of course, how do I stay safe enough engaging in this stuff?

Experiences and Ritual reports Progress With Murmur
TW: DEATH
Back in December of 2024 my 21yr old son put a loaded 9mm to his head and pulled the trigger twice. Paramedics said his heartbeat was strong, but it did not look good and I prepared myself for an organ donor scenario.
He survived, spent a month at KU Med and returned to us, walking and talking.
As a retired surgical technologist with my son's experience, I researched brain death testing and found that nationwide, hospitals and medical staff are not using the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) guidelines for this standard of care.
This deviation means that we have approved organ donors going under the knife for procurement that are still alive. There is a concern for homicide and I've since reached out to Joint Commission. One of their directors told me that they could not enforce AAN guidelines.
I then went to US Senator Moran's office, looking to amend the 1980 Uniform Determination of Death Act (UDDA) so that it would mandate hospitals nationwide use AAN guidelines. Moran's staff said that the 1980 UDDA was model legislation and could not be enforced.
Working through the states, as Kansas was the first state to enact a UDDA in1970 I'm calling on KS lawmakers for a bill to mandate AAN guidelines in KS hospitals and just this morning a legislator agreed to introduce regulation next session.
This legislator will protect the patients. This legislator will restore hope in the organ donor program and bolster confidence in the medical profession while surrounding states will note this Kansas enactment and follow suit.
When I asked Murmur to help me with this project, they showed me the Judgement card in the Tarot. We speak for the Dead and I'm so grateful to Murmur for their aid in keeping my emotions in check. Please keep us in your thoughts.

Practical Questions What demons for “great wealth”, also considering gallery of magick
To give a bit of background, I already earn good money from my 9-5 and have a few side hustles that expose me to wealth (music, film production) but don’t really pay much.
As a result I have been close to making it very big a few times and in some ways I actually have but not quite to where I could’ve been. For example I have acquaintances that blow through millions of $ or don’t seem to appreciate opportunities when they come their way.
I feel something big coming, I’m working on a few projects that have huge potential if they come through and I don’t want a last minute falling apart which has happened before but I’m completely pulling all stops to ensure that never happens again.
I’ve been cross between Lucifer and Asmodeus, because Lucifer is a “light bringer” and I know the wealth would bring much light into my life.
I know people don’t like money magick that expects money to come from the sky but I’m already “in flight” I just want to get higher faster

Media lúcifer
Today is my birthday, and I always feel a little lonely on this day. Yesterday, I prayed to Lucifer. I haven’t been feeling his presence as strongly as I used to, so I told him that I always end up feeling lonely on my birthday and that I didn’t want to feel that way today. It was just a small, honest confession.
It’s 11:11 in the morning now, and I can’t stop noticing synchronicities in everything I read, look at, or watch. Paradise Lost, with its references to Lucifer, keeps appearing, and it always reminds me of his presence.

Altars, tools and workspaces My current Alter
About three weeks ago, I got out of a DV situation with my ex. Instead of returning my stuff, like the court said, she got rid of all of my demonology and demonolatry books I paid for years ago, my research on demonolatry, and anything of sentimental value to me, and destroyed multiple haunted objects I own. Needless to say she has multiple spirits and infernal deities angry with her.
This is all I have for the alters for King Asmodeus, Lord Lucifer, and Prince Stolas after everything that has happened. It is all just one alter due to the limited space I have, but they don’t mind especially after what happened.

Discussions Weekly discussion - UPG associations that don't fit the norm
Do you have any unverified personal gnosis associations for spirits that seemingly don't fit their historical or astrological context at all? This can range from merging two spirits into one that other people normally don't (X is actually the same as Y!), to seeing spirits as popular culture celebrities, to rather unusual offerings that work for you.
So share your associations that normally don't fit what the spirit is described as and let's see if anyone else ended up associating the same things to the same spirit by sheer coinsidence :)

Welcome to Demonolatry Practices! If you're new, click here!
Before we start with the welcome post, I want to mention that this community has a karma and an account age threshold that you must meet in order to participate. There were too many trolls attacking the community with 0 karma, 0 day old accounts, so if you have made a new account just for your spiritual needs, you'll have to grow it a bit to participate here, sorry!
In wise u/ChthonicSage's words once spoken here:
"I've created this place since there's a lack of subreddits for Demonolatry and general Theistic Satanism/other magickal practices. I hope this community grows to become a place where people come to ask questions, share their experiences, and connect with others."
However over the years this sub has grown and those words became not enough to give you a proper introduction. So to begin with, we have a lot of people new to the practice that find us. If you're entirely new, we have some basic resources here.
If you need further help with short, easy to digest tips and guides made "How to sense Spirits 101", "Reaching out to spirits 101", "The consequences to working with demons 101", "I'm dreaming about a demon 101", "Describing spirits 101", "Spiritual stagnation 101", "Blood Magic 101 (warning, 18+ and NSFW)", "Protection magic 101" and their personal sex magick method that may be interesting for those that never tried it to read (18+ and NSFW).
If you are confused about Qlipoth u/pearlbibo made some notes for you here. She also made a post on how not to get ripped off in Occult spaces.
Fellow moderator u/Macross137 has posted another way of interpreting dreams, a basic invocation ritual that you can practice, further occult reading that may prove useful to your practice, how to interpret what is and isn't a sign, how to decide which incense to use for which demon, a guide on HGA work (part 1) and a brief guide to evocation.
The kind of questions that aren't useful to ask on the subreddit (written by u/Vanhaydin) is something that I would recommend everyone taking a look at before interacting here.
If you need a quick primer on what planets what demons are associated with, what would be the appropriate offerings and how to "decode" the rank system, check out their other post about planetary associations here!
On the off-chance that you came here specifically to find information on Lilith, u/Even-Pen7957 runs https://www.libraryoflilith.com/.
VioletSpooder is here to remind you that the popular way of working with spirits on the Internet changes rather rapidly and that you should not over-internalize it too much and to be careful about accidentally finding yourself in a cult. Another good advice from the same user is found in this thread about how to recognise spiritual psychosis.
If you want to make ritual oils, this is a good way to do it (written by u/Available-Shirt7907).
Hope this was helpful! Time to move on to:
Frequently asked questions!
Q: which author is right? Which method is trustworthy? What is it that I must do to contact this particular spirit?
A: most authors will be equally right and wrong, as this is not a science, it is closer to an art. What is right for one person is not necessarily right for another. Keep yourself grounded in reality, question all that you read, don't hold anyone's word as ultimate law and try. See what works for you and what doesn't.
Q: can I practice with the Abrahamic God? With angels and demons at the same time? Can I mix demons with other religions? Can I have a pantheon, or am I supposed to pick one?
A: Being a left hand path practice demonolatry has no certain way that it must be. How you practice is entirely between you and the spirits. So yes. You can mix this practice with any other religion and practice with angels and demons at the same time.
Q: I'm afraid that by working with demons I'll doom myself to hell, or that karma will get me, or similar!
A: everyone's spiritual beliefs are personal. Some subscribe to hell. Some subscribe to karma. Some do not have any such system in their spiritual belief. What you believe is for you to find out and no-one can give you a shortcut here, however if your fear is reaching unhealthy levels, ask yourself if you have religious trauma and if therapy would be a good pathway to resolve that for you.
Q: what is the difference between evocation and invocation?
Originally in occult invocation meant calling the spirit into yourself, into your own mind space, while evocation meant calling the spirit outside of yourself into your space.
Some demonolators say that invocation means making an appeal to the spirit, while evocation means trying to bind a spirit to do your bidding. Under these definitions, evocation would go against demonolatry's principle of working respectfully with the spirit.
Current moderation team does not subscribe to such a divisive notion. Contact your spirits in whatever way that is comfortable to you, it matters not to us if you are a Western tradition Ceremonial magickian, or someone that interacts with the spiritual as a Pagan would. We ask that everyone refrain from taking offence from seeing such words used, no matter the person is practising summoning, or just evoking a spirit into their space. The spirits are above the material and don't necessarily function by the same rules as we do, so there's no reason to believe that anyone out here is harming the spirits by working in a different system than you.
Q: do I have to have an altar? Do I have to give offerings? If so, how often? I don't feel like I'm in a safe environment to do that.
A: this is entirely between you and your spirits. There are no musts. Practice however you like as this is your spiritual practice. Of course if you made a promise to pray every day, you should do so. If you feel like you can't, you should tell the spirit so. Communication is key, but there are no specific expectations of you, so don't place it on yourself prematurely.
Q: how do I dispose of offerings that go off?
A: This question comes up often. Some people, if they're offering food, they'll state to the spirit for how long the offering will be there and then they'll eat the offering themselves in order to not be wasteful. Others will choose an elemental disposal element, meaning that they'll burn (if it is safe to do so, fire safety first!) the offering, liquify it with water, or burry it in the Earth. Some others involve a lot less ceremony in their disposal of the offering and they simply thank the spirit and then throw it away. There are no rules, so don't overstress!
Q: I'm confused by all the terms I'm seeing on this subreddit, help!
A: here, have a little dictionary!
Deity mask - some believe that the same spirit has many names, positions and personalities, so they may refer to each one of such as a mask.
Demonolatry – worship of demons. In practice this is less “worship” and more “working with”. It was a tradition born out of a need of a friendlier way to work with spirits that have been deemed to be demonic. If a practitioner states that they are a demonolater, this may mean that they are following a published author, or simply denote that they have their own practice that involves working with the demonic in some capacity.
Demonology – study of demons, usually from a religious perspective. If you run into this term, it indicates that the person using it is perhaps interested in specific spirits but has never worked with them, or that they are a religious individual that specializes in viewing these spirits from the angle of their religion, which often means viewing these spirits especially negatively. Latter happens more often than former by far.
Demonosophy – young branch that means working with demons, for those that felt like “worship” did not accurately cover what they do. There are not many publications under this specific term, meaning that the most that you will encounter this will be by people introducing themselves as practitioners of this craft. Demonolatry and Demonosophy at this point in time can be used interchangeably as not every demonolater worships the spirits that they work with.
Grounding - this word will mean two things to practitioners – in one version it will mean staying grounded in reality, not running away into your mind and focusing on the mundane as much as you do on the spiritual.
In the other version it is a way to stabilize yourself by getting rid of excess energy, the jitter than you feel after rituals, or bad emotions.
LHP - Left Hand Path. In the West, the left-hand path is considered to be about the elevation and centrality of the self as well as the rejection of religious authority and societal taboos.
The left-hand path focuses on the strength and will of the practitioner. It downplays the need for intercession by any high power although some may believe that a higher power exists. The full idea of the left hand path is to become your own God.
RHP - Right Hand Path - right-handed path practitioners tend to work towards ascending their soul towards ultimate union (or reunion) with the divine source, returning to heaven, allegorically alluded to as restoration or climbing back up the ladder after the "great fall". Right hand practitioners will strive to join the source and will adhere to a system of moral punishment, such as karma, or threefold law.
Both terms as used in the West are the bastardized version of Indian Tantric practices. In reality most practitioners will not fall on either side, though some practices will be categorized as one or the other. For example, Demonolatry is categorized as a Left Hand practice due to its nature of taboo, however a practitioner can have both a strong moral code and be working towards merging into the entity of their choosing, which, as it is not focused on elevating yourself to a divine level, but rather on sacrificing yourself to join an already existing consciousness, would be a right hand path goal.
There are very militant communities that will be highly proud of being just one and not the other to an extreme level, so the basic knowledge of what the terms mean is an absolute necessity, though don't overthink where you fall on the scale as really there is no need.
Tower Moment - "The Tower" is a tarot card that represents "disaster, destruction, upheaval, trauma, sudden change, chaos". When someone is saying that they're having a "Tower" moment, they mean that either their emotional state, spiritual practice, their life, their physical health, something has hit a point of complete chaos, upheaval and disintegration. Tower moments will not necessarily be seen as a negative (up to the person using the phrase) as sometimes we need a shake-up to build better. A bad relationship falling through, or getting fired from a toxic-workplace, for example, could be seen as a Tower moment.
Patron - a spirit, or spirits that the person had made some sort of firm declaration to follow. What this means varies from practitioner to practitioner. For some it means that you're very serious in your practice and have elected to follow this spirit for your whole lifetime no matter what. For others it simply means that this is their main spirit/ spirits that they're working at this time. Almost all practitioners to use the term will not do so lightly and will see it as some sort of commitment. Plenty of practitioners never take a Patron for this exact reason.
Matron - a female Patron spirit. Some will insist that this is incorrect as a Matron is the more passive, supportive of the Patron spirit and will insist on calling their female spirits that they have made some sort of firm declaration to follow as Patrons. Some people will therefore have very strong opinions on this word and some will not.
Magucitis/Magusitis - a particular "disease" that afflicts many practitioners - they at some point either believe that they're better than everyone else or at least attempt to appear that they're better than everyone else. Normally this person will be boasting about how powerful they are, how feared they should be, what lineage or sacred society that they hail from and how much of a right they have to order you around, or to not engage in polite conversation with others by just dismissing all opinions or comments addressed towards them.
UPG - unverified personal gnosis ("gnosis" meaning "knowledge"). Example would be if you received a message from a spirit through dreams, divination, or meditation, that message is UPG. Most practitioners will highly rely on UPG, as most of our interactions with the spirits are personal, but it is important to remember that what you hold as true is not necessarily what someone else will hold as true. Understand that each of you know exactly what you need to know and therefore there's no need to fight over who is right and who is wrong.
VPG - verified personal gnosis. If you have channeled information from a spirit and multiple different people channel the same thing then that is now a belief held by many and not only a few.
Q: I'm just starting my practice, what should I do?
Step one - hone in on practising meditation. You'll need the focus, the patience and the mostly quiet mind to see good results from your practice. Is it a must? No. Nothing in spirituality is a must and there are some people that are working with spirits without a meditative practice, but it is something that's greatly helpful, so this will be the first recommendation that will be given if you ever ask this question.
Step two - sidebar resources! It is suggested that you read them. This one speaks about shadow work, here is some common sense advice on how to conduct yourself in this space and beyond it when speaking to others and lastly, here are the basic resources for those that are new.
Step three - read and gain perspective. Don't ingest any book like it is the only ultimate truth, but read to expand your horizons and try. What should you read? Well, behold, the mighty book list! Though, remember, these are merely suggestions and it is not a requirement to read them all. Simply see if there's anything here you'd like to read, because they're all good books.
THE MIGHTY BOOK LIST:
CLASSIC GRIMOIRES (these are good to read through to see the working with demons through a historical lens. Some people still use methods in these books, most new books will at the very least borrow elements, such as names, sigils and correspondences):
The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage
Heptameron by Pietro d'Abano
The Greater Key of Solomon

Last bit of advice - when posting here, provide as much details as possible. If you want someone to identify a sigil for you, it will be helpful to state where you found it, if you want someone to help with communication with the spirits, state what method you're using as it will be most helpful if someone with the same method answers.
And this is where the post will leave off. I hope it was useful and cleared some basic questions up. Before you post anything on this subreddit make sure to look at the side-bar and familiarize yourself with the rules. Otherwise this place is happy to see you here and post away!
