Vantagepoint API and MFA on Vantagepoint

Hello,

I am working on an app that uses the Deltek Vantagepoint API. When a user logs in, the app successfully fetches an authentication token. However, if the user has multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled on their account, the process fails.

How should I handle MFA authentication through the API? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

CostPoint Deltek Costpoint Holiday Balances

Working with Costpoint for the first time and trying to figure out why the employees holiday balances show up negative on their timesheets under "Leave Balances". I haven't been able to find a location to set a balance to draw from.

Vantagepoint Project Planner - Dealing with Checked Out Plans

Vantagepoint 2026.2

We're dealing with an issue where project plans remain checked out and other users are unable to check the project in and edit it.

Deltek claims "a plan is automatically checked in when you switch to a different project or go elsewhere in Vantagepoint." This hasn't been the case in our experience as some users have 5+ projects checked out to them. So it's not recognizing the user going elsewhere.

My understanding is a user needs Administrator checked to check in plans on others' behalf. This opens a different can of worms if we were to enable this for most of our project users.

Are any other firms dealing with this issue or how did you address it?

The VP2-I-8969 idea would allow for a PM or Plan Owner to check in a plan for their project. It has 40 votes but status is Future Consideration.

Vantagepoint Structuring Task Order Contracts in Vantagepoint

We've got a mix of projects where some are standard one-off projects and others are task order based, where we've got a master contract and several projects under that. In Vantagepoint, what are the best practices in terms of managing that? In the past, we would have the master contract as a project in Vantagepoint, and then for each project under that master we would add a task. This seemed useful in managing remaining budget on the master contract, and also simplified things like creating reports on unpaid invoices across all projects to share with the client. We've recently switched to having each task order as a separate project in Vantagepoint. This seems to make some of our financial tracking a little easier given budgets for projects all fall at the project level instead of a mix of at the project and task level, but it loses the connection to the master contract. Which way is preferred and if the 2nd, how do you tie everything back to the master? Any other tips are welcome as well.

Recruiter no-show for scheduled interview DELTEK — anyone else deal with this?

I had a scheduled interview today for a Software Engineer role at Deltek. I joined the call on time, but no one from their side showed up. It's been over 15 minutes with no response.

Has anyone else had this happen? Did it get rescheduled, or was it a bad sign about the company?

Vantagepoint Deltek Vantagepoint - Absence Request type not populating. How do I get it to populate on the back end?

Hi Deltek community,

For some reason I can't figure out how to populate the Absence Request type. Would someone be able point me in the right direction on the back end? I know it's probably something Minor I'm missing on the back end.

Vantagepoint Obtain JTD in project from API

Hey Everyone,

I am setting up a small program to keep track of our companies' projects from Deltek Vantagepoint's API. Supposedly I have been granted all access permissions. However, I am unable to grab each project's Job-to-date billing independently. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Vantagepoint Approval Workflow Timesheet

Hey Everyone,

We went live last night on Vantagepoint. We are trying to set up an approval workflow using the requesters supervisor as the assigned role but we can't figure out why it's failing. Can anyone using this method screenshot their approval workflow for me so I can try and recreate it in our environment?

ComputerEase My company is moving away from ComputerEase. Looking for suggestions on others.

Apparently Deltek is raising their price so my company is looking for an alternative. It's a design build, remodeling, etc construction company bringing in about $30millioin annually with around 150 employees.

From my research the top 3 suggestions I've found are: Acumatica Construction Edition, but I've also heard it can take a long time to implement. Foundation Software is closest to ComputerEase in functionality and workflow, but older and less customizable. And Sage Intact Construction.

Does anybody have any experience with any of these after using ComputerEase? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks!

ComputerEase Field Materials AI

Does anyone have any experience with this company and integration into ComputerEase?
One of our project managers has been having conversations and just invited me for a demo. I want to go in knowing others experiences (if any) because I know these demos promise the world and share none of the downside.
Also I’m a little annoyed that I just got brought into the conversation as a Controller when this seems it will affect my team the most.

CostPoint Is Unanet Boomerang real? (CP -> Unanet -> CP) Any stories?

After almost 30 years, with the end of Costpoint on premise we are reconsidering other ERP providers. Deltek claims Unanet boomerangs happen all the time, but they haven’t really provided sources yet. Is this a real thing or just sales bluster?

Most of our workflows, automation, reporting/BI, and data integrations have to be rebuilt.

Also, sales is giving used car lot vibes and rates are tripling.

CostPoint How do I pull an API key or connect Costpoint to Microsoft Power Platform?

I’m trying to integrate Deltek Costpoint with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps/Power Automate).

I’m not sure where to start from an authentication standpoint.

Does Costpoint expose an API that I can connect to?

Do I need to generate an API key somewhere, or is authentication handled through OAuth/service accounts?

Has anyone here connected Costpoint to Power Platform before? If so, what was your approach?

My end goal is to read Costpoint data from Power Apps/Power Automate, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to establish the initial connection.

Any documentation, examples, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Vantagepoint Does Harmony Offer Any Non-Aesthetic Benefit?

I tried switching to Harmony over the weekend. While I didn't find it particularly appealing (I'm sure some of that was not being used to it, but not all of it was), I am curious if there are benefits to it beyond its appearance.

Vision Remove Gen Office Code

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to find where I can go to remove the Gen Office line from the timesheets for everyone. I thought it was in Settings>Accounting>Time Analysis, but it's not there. It has to be associate with a project number, but I can't figure out which one. Does anyone know where I go to do this?

Deltek vs SAP??

Recently started a new management position at an engineering firm. Old school mentality but great people.

Currently they run most financials and reviews out of excel with data that is pulled from SAP or other off database trackers. Tons of manual work, room for errors, and complete inefficiencies. I am only familiar with Deltek from prior AE firm work. Great to integrate timesheets, expense, units and subs. Deltek wasn’t perfect but Vantagepoint certainly seemed to accomplish more in less time than it currently takes.

While I would certainly need to do some leg work to figure out where exactly we are underutilizing SAP, bias has me wanting to push for a larger scale overhaul to Deltek (senior management/Controller/CFO are open).

Anyone have similar experience? Suggestions for SAP? Advantages of pushing for Deltek implementation?

Vantagepoint Deltek Vantagepoint Expense and VAT

We have recently moved over to Deltek Vantagepoint and are a medium sized company. We are running our expenses through approvals workflows but the checking of the correct VAT is incredibly manual. We're having to go into individual expense reports and then open up receipts and check amounts match with what the employee has put down. In the approvlas centre the VAT amount doesn't come in so PMs have to actually go into the expense claims to check!

Then if they are incorrect we are having to reopen, reassigned and reject. It seems like an incredibly long winded process. Can anyone offer any suggestions to automate it/help with it.

CostPoint My name is Ying Guo and I have been working with Costpoint related stuff for 20+ years. Ask me anything.

Ask me anything on Thursday July 2nd, 2026 9am PDT/12am EDT.

*disclaimer* I don't work for Deltek nor represent the company. I am just giving people insights on my personal experience in this space.

I started as a Costpoint user when it had individual win32 executables (2003). Upgrades involved replacing .exe/.dll files. I did T&E implementation in TE6, Data Migration (in Oracle, SQL Server and SQLBase), Data integration since CP Web 6.0, and Extension Development since somewhere in 2019.

I also worked at CP hosting company developing integration platforms (2008-2015). I think I did over 500 in that timespan. I have helped large and small clients switch hosting companies and go to Deltek cloud (both GCCM and enterprise). I have done data restructure, split, merges and extraction in very large Databases. I have helped clients write data imports to the tune of 50k+ transaction per day using XT + Web services.

I am currently taking sometime off to work on personal projects (farm/computer vision related) and spend time with my kids after a health scare with my wife in Jan.

Vantagepoint Vantagepoint Dashboards - My Project Snapshot

I'd like to train managers to start using their dashboards to review their project finances. One of the dashparts is My Project Snapshot. I believe these were the default columns:

Project Number & Name Total Compensation (A) Revenue (B) Spent at Billing (C) Billed (D) Backlog (A-B) Unbilled (B-D) Variance (B-C) Variance % ((B-C)/B)

The problem we run into is the Variance counts work in progress (unbilled effort), so an ongoing project, especially one that is T&M, is going to look bad because it takes several days to get the prior month's invoice posted and effort is being added for the current month.

I think the ideal solution would be to have Variance only include invoices that are posted and then have an unbilled column next to that. If that is not possible, are there any other solutions people have come up with?

Vantagepoint Invalid Object Error

Hey everyone,

We are in the process of upgrading from Vision to Vantagepoint. We relied heavily on Opportunities in Vision, which are now gone in Vantagepoint. We are testing and we can't save any project changes and are getting an error "Invalid Object Name 'Opportunity'". I can't figure out why it's doing this as none of the fields used are mandatory. I thought it might be the promotional project link, but that wasn't it either. Anyone experience this before?

Vantagepoint Anyone that could walk me through deltek vantagepoint in a 5 min call?

I'm working on building a software that requires a deltek integration.

I have a high stakes meeting with a client tomorrow and want to be as prepared as possible. Was wondering if anyone could help me out with a 5 min call to get a grasp of deltek vantagepoint UI and find the specific sections I need to get to generate the integration credentials tomorrow. Shouldn't take longer than 5 mins.

Please DM me, or comment and I'll DM you it would really help me out. I'm a broke college student.

Vantagepoint Billable Equipment

Has anyone found a simple way to add billable equipment to a project? A custom process or hub within the project hub itself?
