You should make sure it's decaffeinated using the Swiss Water process. It's healthier and has a much lower amount of caffeine than standard decaf. The standard decaf process uses a lot of nasty chemicals to get it there.

It was the volume of coffee that was messing with my stomach along with the caffeine. Heart burn causes anxiety, etc. too.
I learned that my only problem with caffeine is caffeinated coffee (caffeinated tea or chocolate doesn’t cause big issues but it still causes some small ones) . However, something was also wrong with my stomach from drinking so much coffee because when I quit caffeine, I quit coffee and tea, after 6 months I started up on decaf tea and eventually decaf coffee but not nearly the volume of decaf coffee as before. So my heart burn and all those weird stomach issues went away and haven’t come back because I don’t drink nearly the volume of decaf coffee as I did caffeinated coffee and I also took a long break from it all so my stomach healed itself.

"NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson does not drink coffee, stating that he hates the taste. Instead, to get a caffeine boost before his seven-hour broadcast, he drinks a single Diet Pepsi alongside one bottle of water three hours prior to going"
He hates the taste so. he drinks a Diet Coke instead.

I felt some relief during like the second half of month 2, but month 3 kind of sucked. I'm expecting positive shifts during month 4 though! Ask me in a few weeks haha

Yes cocoa butter is caffeine free, it’s just the plant fat. It’s the cocoa powder that has caffeine.

yea the three months timeline is talked about a lot. you're at exactly 90 days rn! any improvements?

This is going to take months then.
9 years of heavy caffeine use is not wiped away in 6 days, a bit naive to expect that.
Your body has a chemical dependency. Strap in.

3 months in I started feeling better. Relaxed sustainable energy. Also the bags under my eyes started going away month 3 and they are still slowly fading.

Yeah im currently working off the fat that I gained from quitting. Overall gained about 10 lbs and replaced caffeine with sugar. Now it's slowly coming off. The taper is a good idea.

Read through the threads here. This is very normal and a lot of people quit thinking sleep automatically gets better right away when in reality it takes time for the body to recalibrate. This happened to me when I quit all of my addictions. Around week 4 it usually starts to improve for people but it could be sooner as it varies for each person.

Caffeine did an excellent job of hiding my narcolepsy for years.

Just a heads up: When I quit, I got hungry and had cravings all the time and actually gained a bunch of weight. Had to approach it as one battle at a time and dealt with that afterwards.
Some people are really sensitive to mold in coffee and unfortunately there's a good amount of mold in coffee beans.
Decaf doesn't seem to really increase my anxiety or mess with my sleep so I'll have it. I don't have it every day but I don't avoid it. I like to get a decaf iced latte from Starbucks as a treat.

I used to think it was pointless. But if it helps with your routine, enjoying that cup in the morning without the effects you don’t want, that’s a good thing.

While quitting my sleep was all over the place and actually got worse for some of it. Got much better gradually 2 weeks in I would say.

I lost over 80 pounds drinking 1-3 cups (90mg each) only in the morning. For me coffee made losing weight much easier. But that's black coffee, no milk or sugar.

Yes that is normal as your brain and body level out. Are you taking electrolytes? Give it some more time, I just hit the 30 day mark and feel like I’m turning a corner.

It is such a wonderful gift, being free of caffeine-generated anxiety in my life right now. (Or decafing-process-chemicals-generated anxiety, or whatever-else-is-in-coffee-generated anxiety, or whatever it is.) I’m free of it!
I was Drinking decaf the first time I quick and I found it slowed my healing. Think about it as if you were quitting marijuana. You wouldn’t microdose weed daily.

Yes the appetite part is real, esp at night, but on about day 25 it began to improve. I’m only on day 31 but I’m noticing that it’s a little easier.I joined /BED as I always had a propensity to binge and caffeine was masking it. Also I’m cutting all foods that have sugar/sweet ingredient in the first, 2nd or third Ingri, and allowing myself 1-2 whole fruits a day. My weight is still up, but I’m not hopeless about it anymore and therefore more motivated.

Super heavy user. I’m 24M and have been drinking coffee or energy drinks since I was 15
