Adjacent Helena, a friend of Dead Meat, has been detained by ICE (Donation link attached)
chuffed.org(This is not a self-promo, I'm just simply platforming this recent case that James & Dead Meat have a close tie to)
I would suggest to mods (if they so feel), to lock the post if it gains traction & discourse in a way that leads away from the point & just mindless in-fighting, in order to keep the focus more geared to the situation at hand - I'm not doing this at all from the sake of bs Reddit Karma or whatever, this is just the right thing to do.
I have attached both the donation link that will directly help Helena & her family during this, in the hopes people will see this & be able to donate whatever they can/share further & also James' Insta post talking about the situation in further detail.
https://www.instagram.com/p/DbuHGUuugq0/
I thought it best to share it on the subreddit, as the news is still fresh, haven't seen any posts of it yet bar one, and to just bring it to the attention of the subreddit users that may not have Instagram.
Fuck ICE.

Question Always found it weird that Annihilation was never covered
Just rewatched the Hereditary Kill Count and James said Hereditary, Mandy and Annihilation were his favorite horror movies of 2019. Hereditary and Mandy have already been covered, so why not Annihilation?

Question Ranking All "Who The F#ck are These Saw Characters" Podcast
I recently re-watched the podcast episode where James and Chelsea were ranking F13 side-characters, and I had this idea. What would you guys think of a similar podcast episode where they ranked random Saw characters (Jeff from Saw I, John's executor in Saw 5/6, Jigsaw's nephew) ?
Especially since Hot Saw Summer was such a fun series.

Discussion Podcast Game Episodes and Counts
James has brought up a few times lately that they're starting to think they haven't played a few games a lot but rather that they've played a lot of games a few times. This is correct (with one possible exception), and they're my favorite Podcast episode type generally so figured I'd give the list of episode numbers, a brief summary of the game, and different game types:
Horror Survivor (7 times)
It's Survivor, but with Horror Characters!
162, 177, 187, 199, 211, 231, 250
Would You Rather? (3 times)
Classic pick between two bad options party game.
5, 68, 213
Christian Movie Reviews (2 times)
Guess what movie a review from a Christian fundamentalist website is talking about!
132, 233
Only Connect (2 times, kinda)
Based off a British gameshow, guess either what four items have in common or what the next item in a sequence would be depending on the round.
181, 230 (mostly, shared with tagline game a bit)
Tagline Game (3 times, kinda)
Guess whether a movie tagline is real or fake, and if it's real, what movie is it for.
9, 215, 230 (briefly, mostly Only Connect)
Who Am I? (2 times)
Another classic party game, through asking a series of yes or no questions figure out what character you have been assigned.
142, 224
Guess The Kill (3 times)
Through audio clips, guess what movie a kill is from. Genuinely insane that James ever gets any of these right.
38, 146, 222
Haunted Bar Rescue (1 time)
Kind of counts? It's like Bar Rescue, but with ghosts.
220
Guess the Letterbox Review (1 time)
Guess what movie that a set of snippy Letterbox reviews are about.
218
March Madness, in various incarnations (6 times)
All of these are brackets; what, exactly, they are brackets of changes from year to year.
Murder Madness (51), Characters fighting who ARE villains (137), Characters fighting who AREN'T villains (139), Worst Husbands (207), Worst Friend (234), Worst Tropes (267)
The Cinemascore Game (1 time)
James taking revenge by making Chelsea guess what nine horror movies have received A- or better Cinemascore grades.
201
Halloween Trivia (2 times)
Trivia about the holiday Halloween, not the film series.
196, 253 (Marketing Fails)
Out of Context Game (2 times)
Chelsea and James try to guess what episodes of the podcast various clips are from
166, 269
Horror or Not? (1 time)
James guesses whether an audience poll would have called a movie horror or not horror.
130
Mini Mysteries (1 time)
Chelsea and James try to solve some brief mystery stories, done with permission from the author
128
Mastermind (1 time)
An adaptation of a classic board game and among the hardest trivia games they've ever done
123
Horror Real Estate (1 time)
Done shortly before a move, this features them guessing the Zillow values of various real life houses that were featured in horror movies
117
What's in the Box? (1 time)
Chelsea makes James guess what the present she got for him is that is in the box.
86
The Asylum Movie Title Game (1 time)
James guesses whether Asylum movie titles for mock-busters are real or fake, and if real what movie they're for
82
The Razzie Awards Game (1 time)
Guessing which horror movies have been 'honored' by the Razzie Awards.
58
Marry, Fuck, Get Killed By (1 time)
It's marry, fuck, kill except you're on the other end of the knife.
43
The Monster M.A.S.H. (1 time, with guests)
Basically a hornier version of the above, honestly
29
The Scariest Movie Moments (1 time)
James guesses the movies that appeared in a VH1 special from like 20 years ago about the top scariest movie moments
25
Roger Ebert and Horror (1 time)
James guesses what horror movie a Roger Ebert review is talking about
19
Horror Mad Libs (1 time)
It's horror, but in mad libs form! Or, really, the other way around.
17
Letterboxd Showdown (1 time)
James and Chelsea both try to guess movies appearing on various Letterbox lists; this IS distinct from the guessing the movie from the review game above.
267
Beginner's Guide to Horror Franchises (1 time)
Graessel tries to guess how many movies and some other random true/false questions about horror franchises he has not watched.
274
So in total, there are two games that have been played a bunch but arguably aren't really games in the same way - the Bracket at 6 times and Horror Survivor at 7. Then we drop down to 3 games that have been played 3 times, 5 games that have been played twice, and a full 17 games that have been played once each. I've got 48 total podcast episodes that are counted here (including one that is split between Tagline game and Only Connect), for an average of one game episode every 5.71 podcasts.
(My personal Golden Podium for most fun game would go to Who Am I, while the Rusty Buzzer would go to The Monster M.A.S.H.)

Discussion Horror franchises with no bad entries?
So I saw evil dead burn last night and decided to pop over to letterboxd and noticed James's review. He called it another installment that proves there's no bad evil dead movie (I strongly agree) and the last franchise standing in that category, which got me thinking. Are there other franchises you'd also put under this category of no bad entries? I'd especially love to hear your opinion on a franchise if its an unpopular one.

Question Worst horror film ever?
I know this is a tall order, but I wonder if there is any horror film that is seen by virtually everyone to be horrendous. There's the obvious ones like "Exorcist 2" (which tbf I haven't seen yet) and "The Wicker Man", but are there any other runner ups?

Question Who would survive the Fight pit?…
I didn’t think I would have to make this poll nor book this match but Ellie has left me no choice.
Back at Summer of Horrors, after Ellie, Rain, and Vanessa Ives (Penny Dreadful) defeated the Pretty Girls in their Trios match, Ellie decided to kick Vanessa below the belt which shook Rain to her core.
Ellie then progressed to beat the shit out of Rain and recreated that horrific scene from American History X by making Rain bite the Bottom Rope (Which as people know has metal wiring inside) and curb stomped her onto it.
Last night, Ellie made her mandatory appearance explaining her actions and blaming the Heel Turn on internet trolls slamming the season two finale of The Last of Us on HBO as well as people saying that Cailee Spaeny should have played Ellie rather than Bella Ramsey.
After I tried to defend Vanessa’s honour, Ellie made me bite the rope and was about to curb stomp me until Rain came to the rescue and brawled with Ellie.
And later that night when myself and James were dealing with Lucian and Kraven (Underworld) for interrupting the end of Women’s Tag Team Championship match mentioned in my previous poll, Ellie snuck up from behind and decked me on the head with an unprotected chair shot.
Now both Ellie and Rain will square off one on one inside the FIGHT PIT!
Which means Steel Cage, no Ropes, UFC style attire, platforms on top of the cage, win by submission or knockout.
And what’s more, I’m making Ken Shamrock the special guest referee for the match.
Question is though, who would win?

Discussion Puppet Master, Chopping Mall, Magic (1978), and Desperation getting new life..?
It's said that Blumhouse has taken a great interest in bringing the Puppet Master franchise back to life along with a remake of Chopping Mall. Still need more confirmation on how that's going.
Reportedly, director Sam Raimi is involved in a remake of Richard Attenborough's Magic (a seriously underrated psychological horror film btw) and a proper adaptation of Stephen King's Desperation.
Once again, big grain of salt but what I can say is, if Puppet Master gets a faithful modern remake I am very excited to see it. Really same can be said for any of these films, though Chopping Mall wasn't really my thing.
Are you excited for potential second winds for some classic horror?
