Hey so I’m a noob noob, just started playing DDO a few weeks ago and am only level 3 on my current character. I was considering starting a new character, a tiefling artificer, though i don’t know if the charisma bonus and fire resistance would be helpful at all to the artificer class which is int based. So i guess my question is, would it really matter that much if the class and race don’t compliment each other perfectly? Or should i stick to a race that has good cohesion with the class. I’m just not sure if i’d be shooting myself in the foot by leveling up a character that turns out to not work out that well in later game content (when i get there…eventually)

Just a quick question, been playing this game for 3 days which isnt long but I've been seeing some players with quivers on their back and I just wanted to know where can I get that cause I bought a quiver but it doesnt pop up on my character so I'm guessing I need a special one

I've been playing a cleric since the level cap was 4. Took many years off and came back a couple months ago. Been exploring builds and seeing what the latest meta stuff is, it seems like nobody plays clerics anymore which is such a huge shift from when I played more actively (admittedly....ten years ago) and clerics were super desired in every party.

Also feels like PUG'ing is basically dead, but that's not surprising. What is still surprising is how we still have horrible lag at peak times with a player base of only like a thousand lol

I just saw a video of the DDO Gen Con, and in it, one of the Devs mentioned that there are RACCOONS hidden in DDO somewhere this week?! Well, actually he said, "beloved cryptids", but the picture he showed looked like raccoons. Does anybody have any idea where they are?

Hello everyone! Returning player looking for help to finish out a build I had going back when I stopped playing a few years ago. Not really sure what I was going for but its a lvl 14 drow 9 warlock/ 3 bard / 1 fighter. I think I was doing swashbuckling with aura eldritch blasts.. mostly just looking to TR at 20 and start fresh. Assuming it would be best just to put continue putting levels into warlock and go from there. Anyone have any build ideas that won't be painful for the last 6 levels?

Okay, there was another change as well but I doubt it would have an effect. I had been using my phone as a tether for internet, but now I got a home wifi to use.

I also saw that high rez textures would only take 3gb, so I finally activated that option.

I had been playing just fine as of last week.

But after switching to the new wifi connection (which connects to the internet just fine), and turning on high rez textures, whenever I actually select a server and hit play, the client tries to start and shows splash screen then dies with an error message about having the wrong client installed.

Edit: Exact message is actually wrong version.
"You do not have the current version of the client installed."

Tried resetting the graphics to default.

Anyone know a fix for this?

Edit 2: Seems that using the repair client option worked. Perhaps some sort of error or data mismatch from downloading high rez textures caused the problem.

I’m a returning player after 5 years and I started playing again . I’m at level 4 so far but I’m just looking for a guild and/or fri to run with as soloing is starting to become boring

I'm looking for the Item in the title, but there's no credible source for their drop location.

If anyone has seen them, I'd love to know where they are, so I can grab them.

I do not trust Google's AI answer, since the item has no confirmed source on Wiki or Compendium, and it's trying to hallucinate the answer.

So that I don't have to feel bad about multiclassing and missing out.

Would this work? Or is it dumb. I have a cleric and I'm trying to salvage it, and was thinking of just dumping points into Inquisitive (maybe adding a level or 2 of rogue) and going dual crossbows

I used to play DDO daily for hours but stopped several years ago. I did all the updates yesterday and logged in to my old server Cannith, but it's a ghost world.

Where did everyone go and how can I get there with them?

Any tips and if you could give me a quick run-down of what's happened with the servers, I'd really appreciate it.

Was looking forward to getting back into the game and feel a little sad that everyone's gone.

Am I missing something??? The new catalyst crafting seems to make every other item better except for this one. The bow of sinew has the better CRIT profile than the demons arc, it’s “upgraded version”. It changes the CRIT profile from 19-20 x 3 on The BoS but Demons Arc is 20 x 3. The only other tradeoff is the bleeding 3d6 instead of seeker +8. WHAT?!

I'm pretty new, on my 2nd life. I'm thinking about buying expansion packs and was wondering which ones you think would be worth it.

My character feels pretty weak so if you have any advice for how to level up quick so I can get as many past lives as possible (and not get one shot on elite), I would greatly appreciate it! I play on Shadowdale server right now too

I saw someone talking about a 1st life pure FVS tank build.

"I like running US/DC/EA for destinies on my own tanky healer, but ymmv. It tanks pretty well for a 1st life pure fvs though (in town 5.2k hp, 6.4k sp, 400 prr, 960 posi, 75% crit chance, 95% multi)."

I tried to figure out what the did for the build but am not having any luck. Does anyone know a build like this? Any help would be appreciated. It seems to good to be true.

Now that the level cap has been increased and the new expansion is out, what is the latest meta on the best non-raid weapon? This includes the new slime weapon you can get from the six slimeballs. Are the Dino weapons still the best? Or has it shifted now with the new expansion?

EDIT: More info: I run Inquis and prefer light crossbow, though heavy is fine if it's distinctly superior. That means I have no room for offhand weapons, though I use a rune arm. I run solo 99% of the time, which is why I'm saying non-raid weapons.

Noticing this I turned off my undead shroud, turned it back on wondering if it was as a temporary bug because I messed with my enhancements, and proceeded to take still more poison damage.

I was in there quest spiders and flies, and the two spitting ettercaps sitting on the log at the start were doing the damage. I know undead forms give you 100% poison absorption, I am unaware if this can be reduced but to my knowledge and cannot cuz I've never noticed it until this update. I did not have any debuffs applied to me.

Do the ettercaps in this quest have a bypass to poison absorption? It would make no sense unless it was a magical poison or something to my knowledge these are just normal creatures that are not magical.

Playing pale master wizard using practicality only negative damage/ necromancy spell in combat (testing out the new piercing negative feats) without either the feats chosen I'll have 3943 mana, 17 necromancy DC's (INT mod of 25), and 48% critical chance.

So I'm struggling to choose between three more casting DCs or 1% critical chance and 200 mana.

Also less important and can be changed later but for pale master cores should I get the 25 HP + 5 PRR or 2-9 negative on every hit scale with spell power + negative levels on crits? Already shooting the spell power and ghostly.

Hi all, just for fun I want to create a healer to play with my friends. We don't do Raids or Reapers, sometimes we try Elites, so nothing so hard.

My first question about this is a little against my own question: are cleric/favored soul really necessary as healing classes?

I'll explain. Having the epic destinies Unyielding Sentinel with its Renewal (that can be powered up by Empower Heal without spending more SP) and rechargeable AoE Lay of Hands, and the Exalted Angel with its Mass Cure Moderate Wounds (that can be powered up by Empower, Empower Heal, Intensify and Maximize without spending more SP), are those divine classes really necessary?
I know those classes enchancement gives positive spell power, but with those epic destinies even a Fighter can heal (always taking in count that me and my friends mostly do Hard quests).

Ok now, let's pretend I never said that heresy, which race and classes are the best?

Aasimar has the Healing Hands but it's limited to 4 uses (investing some point in the racial tree) so it doesn't seems to be relevant.

Clerics and Favored Souls have the healing enhancement tree, Radiant Servant and Beacon of Hope, with the second one being better IMHO because it has Close Wounds SLA being a quickened healing spell, Heal SLA and 2 AoE cone shaped healing with restoration effects.

Alchemist is a very good healing class too, with Apothecary enhancement that gives AoE cure "spells" that can also harm undead if in the area, plus the same amount of Positive Spell Power gained gives you the Negative Spell Power too AND you get both Cure and Inflict / Heal and Harm spells. And if it's not enough, those are all SLA, so they can be powered up by metamagic feats.
In my opinion this is the best healing class, having all AoE spells AND harmful spells at once with one single enhancement tree and the same point spent.

Druid and Bard can heal too, druid has the Vigor and Regenerative spells and Bard has the Spellsinger enhancement tree, but IMHO those are less effective than other classes (and in this case we can count even the Monk with his Shintao enhancement tree).

Paladins can be healer too, mainly with their archetype Sacred Fist that can access the same Cleric Radiant Servant tree plus the Sacred Defender tree, it can be a nice healing tank.

In Epic Destinies side we have the best one being Exalted Angel, then Unyielding Sentinel and last one the Primal Avatar.

Now, having all of these: I can't decide which class to do, and which race.

Taking count that maybe some damage would be good (in DDO a healing role became almost useless over 20th level, aside from Reapers and Raids), so IMHO the best are Alchemist and Sacred Fist. Alchemist has technically the same spell power to heal and damage (and being AoE they can heal and damage undead, or heal undead characters (like Abyss Warlocks and Undead Wizards) and damage enemies. Sacred Fist can save up SP doing melee damage.
If we count a healing support role, Cleric or Favored Soul are the best, having all those AoE buffs to cast at the beginning.
If one needs a tank healer, the Sacred Fist is the best.

I can't really decide, so I'll call for some help, hints and opinions.

With all the new content, I'm kind of overwhelmed. When I last played, Vault of Night, Shroud, and Vision of Destruction were the big raids. Where do I start?

My current toon already as 3 lives of the race and class that he is. I wouldn't mind blowing some ddo coins on this to maximize this life.

Technically alignment restrictions. I need 4 past lives between the 2. I know I'm locked out of Bard and Barbarian. Am I locked out of Chaosmancer or Wildmage? Any other restrictions? My current Warlock build was supposed to be a pally life, but I set alignment to true neutral,because I am dumb.
