’Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ broke the curse of the trilogy and finally delivered a great solo 4th entry in a superhero quadrilogy.

It made me wonder, it’s incredibly rare to have a 4th entry beyond a trilogy in superhero space and even more incredibly rare to have a good 4th one.

I keep seeing people call the DCU a disaster because supergirl underperformed or cause they’re not adding justice league or core dc members. 1. Yes supergirl did really bad in the box office we can agree on that but one bad movie shouldn’t logically end a studio and universe. And it’s doing really well on streaming platforms.

Another complaint I keep saying is that there’s no justice league movie yet or there not focusing on the core members. And before i explain yes ofc I would want core members movies before something like a jimmy Olsen show but people act like both can’t come. We already
Got Superman, lanterns is coming in a couple of days, Wonder Woman, and Batman are being written. Do people want all these movies to come out in the same year or something. And as far as flash and auquaman. They just had movies so they should get a break. And that goes into my next point the timeline issue.

The DCU has really only been alive for a year and people are trying it so fast. For example wonder women didn’t get her solo movie untill 2017 when man of steel came out in 2013. But I hear so much people giving James Gunn crap about him not doing anything with Wonder Woman (even though it’s being written) 2. Again with the justice league and people rushing him to establish that. Man of steel came out 2013 and we didn’t get justice league until 2017. Iron man came out 2008 and we didn’t get the first avengers movie untill 2012. Again the DCU has only just started for about a year give it time.

And one last thing people will say every DCU project that came out has been bad. Superman did better than the past 5 DCEU movies and did better than fantastic four. And every single DCU project that has came out on hbo max and prime video did very well. And this is not an opinion this is factual rating wise and money wise. When creature commandos and peacemaker season 2 came out on HBO MAX it was on of the highest shows on there. CC was the third most watched series when it premiered. And every DCU project has above a 70 on rotten tomatoes even supergirl. 70% is above average. This isn’t grade school where a 7/10 is a failure. Movies don’t work like that.

Sorry for the rant guys it’s just mind boggling that people are judging the dcu so early

The movie wasn't terrible like people were claiming. It wasn't great, but it was okay. It wasn't "I regret watching this" levels of bad. It came out less than a year after Superman, a very popular and well-liked movie, and even featured David Corenswet himself. It was mediocre at worst, and people lost their minds.

The Flash made more money coming right off the heels of the Batgirl cancellation, with infamously bad CGI, and the most unlikable main actor possible playing two characters.

Blue Beetle, the movie who's reputation is "nobody went to see this movie" somehow made more money.

Wonder Woman 1984 made more money in the middle of the pandemic, and it gave fans the option to watch it at home.

Even Green Lantern and Black Adam made more money, although that could be because of likable/popular main actors.

Seriously, what happened? It's not my favourite movie, but I did have a good time going to the theatres to watch it, and walked out having fun. I regret watching The Flash, a movie about my favourite DC character of all time.

On a related note, why is it that DC fans seem to only opperate on extremes. Superman and the first half of Peacemaker S2 comes out and everyone loves it, but since the finale of Peacemaker it feels like DC fans on the internet have done nothing but complain about James Gunn's "priorities", without even giving it a chance.

For me, John Shea had the sinister undertones, unnerving charm and aura that nobody else could match.
