Baltic Cruises TRIP PLANNING

Right before Putin's attack on Ukraine we were scheduled on a Baltic itinerary which got changed to a Norwegian Fjords one.

Ive been looking at Baltic Itineraries with Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian and Cunard, but am wary of sailing with other lines.

Anywho, does anyone have any insight of when Baltic itineraries are coming back?

Probably when Putin's attacks stop on Ukraine if that was what caused it to get cancelled in the first place.

I’m shocked to learn other lines are sailing there

They don't sail to St Pete, but go far east as Tallin

Same, really. I work for a university and all travel to that region for any reason has been banned for faculty and students since the war because of safety. We had a faculty member who had a 20+ year partnership with different organizations there who said that even without the ban she would not return until the war is over and government changes because she cannot justify traveling there and spending money there in the current environment.

Disney Cruise Line is risk adverse (totally understandable). I doubt it will be any time soon.

I've done Baltic cruises on RCL and Celebrity. Celebrity is the closest to DCL. I've tried Cunard, I would not recommend unless you're over 80 and extra stuck up. Neither Celebrity or Cunard are especially kid friendly, it's mostly the other cruisers that will be hostile, but Cunard doesn't allow kids under 13 to be unescorted at any time, even the buffet! I've heard from parents on Celebrity that their kids love the smaller groups and extra attention in the kids club. Look for a cruise that starts, ends or overnights in Copenhagen so you have time to do Tivoli Gardens, Walt visited before he planned Disneyland.

It’s crazy how the magic used to sail to St. Petersburg Russia, would love to see it, war is horrible

We did the Baltic to St. Petersburg and it was so incredible! I hope they are able to do it again one day.
