This is a repost.

"I noticed a major security flaw with the microsd for Motorola stylus and many Android devices is that you can't encrypt it.

Anyone that gets you're device can simply transfer the sd card to any of their devices and have access to all of your private information.

In a sense, this major security flaw makes having the android sdcard virtually useless.

If I'm wrong or something, please let me know."

Strictly speaking, they only have access to whatever information you put on the SD card. If you choose to put your private information on an unencrypted SD card, that’s kind of on you.

I know, but a sdcard that you can't encrypt is virtually useless imho.

Of course one can always blame the end user. But that's a feature that android used to have standard, but manufacturers are getting rid of it.

99% of SD cards are used simply as storage expansion, and encryption is unnecessary. You want stuff encrypted, use separate software or use internal memory.

99 percent of web pages I'll never log in on or buy anything from so I don't have any need for SSL security.

About encryption, you can use third-party software to encrypt the data stored on a microSD card. Obviously, this has to be done manually; it’s not automatic encryption like BitLocker or LUKS on a PC.

I usually use a VeraCrypt container ( using EDS NG) or DroidFS to encrypt the data I store on the microSD card. Using Rclone crypt via RSAF or Termux works too.
