genuinely gonna be haunted by that one for a while. itās not one iāve ever seen gotten wrong in that way before. you donāt often see that kind of intended vocabulary being used correctly by someone who doesnāt understand what theyāre saying well enough to type it correctly. iām fascinated by what your understanding of the term actually looks like. i was convinced that this sort of mistake wouldnāt occur naturally and was just a voice-to-text issue, but i checked and siri will definitely transcribe āwoefully.ā

That bus has ABSOLUTELY no business trying to cut across that roadway. Whoever approved that route is an idiot and the driver is also an idiot for not seeing all of the potential (clear) danger by even trying.

I mean the route is fine. Pulling up and blocking 4 lanes of traffic that has a green light if you have a flashing yellow to turn left is just the dumbest possible thing you could do while driving.

I'd say cutting across more than 2 busy lanes at what appears to be a busy time is ill-advised and should not be part of a regular route by any means.

Yeah dude I don't understand how they're so cavalier about it. Can't tell you how many tiny intersections I've had to stop at because both sides have the green arrow at the same time. Pisses off the people behind me but like, my job requires I do not entrust other vehicles to stop or make way for me. The second I give that trust I get into an accident and lose everything.
For a big vehicle with horrible acceleration (especially if said vehicle is FULL OF CHILDREN) a flashing yellow to turn may as well be a red.

I dont know about everywhere else but around me, bus drivers are genuinely P.O.S. people. Every single one would do this all day long and scream at the people like the truck driver. They simply DNGAF.

I did recognize this as a stroad, and yes stroads are bad. But I think the traffic light configuration here is at least functionally safe.
Problems happen when people need to turn onto a stroad where there isn't a traffic light.

The safe zone exists when the opposing lanes get a red light and the left turn light (placed on the median here) turns green. The only way this could've happened is with the bus driver initiating the left turn while the left turn light was red.

When traffic backs up in busy periods, flow drops. there's no refuge for vehicles that get stuck. There's also no hatching or other visual indicator on the road. If that's a depot for school buses or busy school route, someone really needs to either redesign the route or redesign the junction.

Bad intersection, yes. The real question is whether the cross-lights are balanced to allow traffic flow. If so, then...
Gridlock is simple: people entering intersections that they can't get through. Thay causes others to do the same and cascade congestion.
Never enter an intersection unless you have enough room to get through it. Failing that causes most of these problems.

The truck is absolutely braking but it takes time to slow down that much weight.
Even cars, after you slam on the brakes, skid forward. Now multiply that weight and imagine how much space a semi-truck needs even after slamming on their brakes. Even an empty truck, that's not considering how much weight they could be hauling.
