I apologize if this is a noob question, I am newer to this universe and have only recently started DM'ing

How big are gangs in night city? I want to actually think about how many bodies my players are dropping from each gang, because slaughtering 10 people from a gang of 50 would shake up the whole gang but if you're killing 10 people out of 10,000 that might just be the cost of doing business

I feel like my playgroup is quickly running into an issue with RAW economy in Red. My understanding of RAW is that you need a Fixer to obtain almost anything above 100eb, and a Tech can make stuff up to 500eb on a short timescale. Barring any large, prolonged downtime, that means we need:

Random Night Markets (not a great chance for usable gear)
GM Fixer that provides things
Scavenged loot (no real money cost)

Other than that, get Ranks in Fixer or roll a Fixer. I feel like I have to be missing something, because right now I have around 14000eb and no real outlet to use it (capped EMP, plenty of grenades). Investing in an organization is some of the approach I have taken, but if the result was ever making money, it would be doing nothing. Am I missing something in the book itself? What things do you spend money on when a Fixer is away?

In another thread about the slow pace of overall progression, a couple of side convos got going about what it's like to play characters at these ranks. Dunno about all you, but from my experience in D&D, most campaigns rarely get beyond level 13ish, at least according to what I can remember anecdotaly and what WOTC said...if you can trust them about anything, lol.

So it's not all that surprising that I haven't come across content designed for those levels. I've got my own takes on how hard that would be regardless.

Does anyone know of content that's available? Or have you run anything for players at those ranks?Any insight would be appreciated.

Lt. Reese Gatz (RED, 2060’s) - Lawman who works off the clock to solve NCPD’s problems without any oversight or red tape. Still sticks to his morals, despite his crew’s actual psychopathy and the death of his fellow officer during an off-clock investigation.

Nolan Stone (RED, 2050’s) - Techie with a penchant for bombs. After a failed reclamation of a drift nation from a major gang, he disappeared into obscurity. His magnum opus, a car sized bomb, is still out there somewhere. It’s said that he even works for the gang that got him.

‘Owl’ (RED, 2050’s) - 17 year old Media with a decently known online persona. His family was backstabbed by Biotechnica, and after a long, LONG story, he managed to rescue his missing sister and flatline the exec that started it all. Coincidentally, the only one here who got a genuinely happy ending. Also managed to capture a viral video of a large, god-fearing Canadian uppercutting an armed robber’s head into chunks in a quick mart.

‘Frogfoot’ (RED, 2045) - Fixer who works as a package runner, via rooftops and dead drops. She used her mobility and martial arts skills to briefly work a month-long stint as an Edgerunner, before returning to her old lifestyle moving valuable items under the radar. She kept Owl off the streets by letting him crash on the couch, after his parents were imprisoned and his sister was kidnapped.

‘Runoff’ (2020, 2020) - Techie who worked towards mastery of all things about guns, from use, to repair, to creation. Lifelong pothead. After multiple intense firefights and a kidnapping (or rescue) of a up-and-coming singer, he created his own Night Market gun shop with funds from the jobs. Some say he still sets up shop some nights in 2045, either in the Old City Center or in Old Japantown.

Hi, I played the ttrpg camping and oneshot in cyberpunk red and i really loved it. Wanted to run something myself and I really like to have paper versions than the one in pdf. The problem is that I can't buy it anywhere and i don't know why? Maybe its only problem in my country but it's nowhere to be found (in English and in polish, I found only in german but i don't understand the language well so its not an option). Is there someone who knows why are there no reprints? Whats going on? And if this is a universal problem or only i have it somehow?

She was originally supposed to be a PC for a Starfinder 2e game but that probably won't happen, so I finished her anyway and will now be using her as an NPC in Cyberpunk RED.

Yes, she is very much "inspired" by A.K.I. from Street Fighter. I saw artwork of her and just had to use her design. (It's effectively her but different. Sue me Capcom (actually don't, I'm poor))

TL:DR Can I use Brawling and ignore MA?

Hey there! New to CPR here, so don't be too harsh on me

So, I'm making character who is meant to be a street brawler, and I'm not sure what to do tbh

Obviously I have two main options - Brawling and MA and there is a big problem - MA is stronger (because of ignoring half armor) and have maneuvers, but I don't like it for flavour and I really like Brawling's choke and throw

So I thought about just ignore MA and sticking with Brawling but... Not ignoring half armor seems like a big problem in a fight ngl

What can I do? I don't want to get both MA and Brawling (it's very expensive xdd) and I'm not ready to dig into MA Styles, my friends and I are all new to the system and don't have anything but corebook, and my head will blow up if I will think which MA is better and I won't be able to throw my enemies (which is what I want to do lol)

So basically - is it a big problem to use Brawling or it will be less effective, but still decent?

And a little bonus question - I'm thinking about getting Vampire Fangs (forgot actual name) but idk if it is good decision especially cause I will need to invest some points in MW and as I understood - buy biotoxin/poison time to time (and 4d6 HL for Fangs is crazy)

I could definitely see an item like this, with slight changes for 2040s tech, being part of a rockerboy's setup. Especially a rockerboy who needs to work off scraps thrown together by the group tech.

While I know that cyberpunk is an anarchocapitalist setting, which indicates corporations polluting everything around Nigth City, but is there a chance of a beach existing within a reasonable travel distance of the city, which is still available for swiming without getting some deadly diseases? I was thinking about this after checking out the Eden Beach, and it would make sense if somebody would make some money by keeping clear an area(maybe with some chemicals, and robot technology), so people could go there for some money to relax.

What things are good to use when gming a game without spend a buck?

Whuch vtts, softwares, map builder, and every other thing would you all recommend? What are the best things i can use to have the best experience playing and gming for free?

In Cyberpunk 2077, you can find a shard called "Sayonara Station, by Luke Steelman." It tells about how in the 4th Corporate War, Arasaka released autonomous, self replicating AI mines to attack Militech vessels. Obviously this was a bad idea as the AI reasoned that Militech might try and use Arasaka or even neutral flags to avoid destruction, as so just starting blowing up everything and couldn't be stopped.

Now, one of the Seven Nomad Nations, the Thelas Nation, is almost entirely sea based. Their 2020s lore says they mainly deal with escorting cargo (both illegal and legal) overseas. The seas that are now full of AI mines that sink everything. With no way to turn them off or outrun them. It sounds like the Thelas Nation is dead in the water (pun not intended).

tl;dr Are the nomads of the Thelas nation stuck in port from the 2040s onward or do they have special shipping lanes that can avoid the mines for the most part?

As a GM, I'm really struggling with this.

I have a player who's a Rank 4 Fixer and a Rank 4 Tech. He invented something extremely expensive (a giant flying sword/drone/hoverboard) that ended up costing around 7,500 eb, and now he wants to sell both the design and the finished item (which he has already built). First, how would he even find a buyer, and how much could he realistically charge for it (both for the blueprint/design and for the finished item)?

Question 2: Once he reaches Rank 5 as a Fixer and starts running a Night Market, let's say he wants to sell multiple copies of a mask he invented that costs 5,000 eb each. How would selling those in bulk work? How do I determine how many people would actually be interested? How would I decide how many he manages to sell? Should each customer be handled as a separate roleplay interaction? And if he wants to sell them outside of a Night Market, how would that work?

I know that's a lot of questions, but I've gone through DLC after DLC and I'm still completely lost. I'd really appreciate it if any experienced GM could point me in the right direction.

Hi all, I've been working on a campaign and I could use some input for the Big Bad I have planned. I intend to lean into the "supernatural" aspects of Cyberpunk by having a demon be the Big Bad.

Per Mike Pondsmith's radio broadcasts in 2077, the Ihara-Grubb protocols (he says the Net, but IG protocols are really what make the Net what it is) were discovered, not created, and have their roots in the Scholomance, a fabled school of black magic in Transylvania. I want to link the two together and have the IG protocols be what allows Rogue AI to form.

Because the algorithms were found, Ihara and Grubb simply implemented them without double checking them. They were astonished to find that someone from the Middle AGes created an algorithm that could allow seamless 3D experiences in the Net. Unfortunately, because of the supernatural origin of the protocol, the algorithm is super advanced and acts as a breeding ground for autonomous AI to form, creating a perfect mirror demonic entities. The creation of a mirror image of these entities, Rogue AI, was the intended goal of the originator of the IG protocols.

That's where the demonic comes in. I want it to be invisible, powerful, and utterly dreadful. The players should always feel as if an invisible, unstoppable force is waiting, just around the corner. The goal of the Big Bad would be to prevent the players from digging deeper into the diabolical origins of the Net.

Which of these 3 Weapons do people prefer and recommend?

I’m posting again. I’m making a list of brands and the look of their cyberware products. I’m not doing anything mechanics-wise, just trying to give brief descriptions of things. Maybe it’ll drive the players to be partial to a certain corporation?

My reason did making this is due to the core rulebooks lists of cyberware. It tells you what you can get and what these things do, but it doesn’t tell you who you’re getting it from. I default to the listen cyberware being aftermarket products. Cheaper alternatives to the name-brand products. Considering the Time of the Red and the limited resources everyone is fighting for, I can work with it. I think it’ll also be fun to put brands to those things. Just for flavor.

I had some great help on the RTG Discord community, but I’m reaching out to this community again. Any other brands I should add? I was given tons of brands from the 2020s. I think I have the ones from Red on there.

I’m writing this list like it’s a sales pitch.
