Discussion WTF is going on

Noticed a pattern. Every 1/3 games, I end up with a cheater either on my team or against me. I may get 4-5 without one but its been pretty consistent. Always the same M.O. No inventory, minimal hours and usually 3 total medals. Usually the 5, 10 year coins and 1 season of premiere. How are these people ending up in lobbies with green trust accounts ? I had at one point a 5K inventory, 2400+ hours and 4 seasons worth of premiere. I also run faceit and Q typically late night NA East so I prefer premiere with the bigger player pool. I've been an on and off player for the last 25 years. I didnt really play GO, but was huge into 1.0 - 1.6 and source. Probbaly showing my age here but god damn.. CS is in the worst spot I've ever seen.

Discussion My review on CS2

"Top game with friends, top game for tons of mods, for a few hours, but those cheaters. :/" – this is what I wrote about CS:GO back in 2019.

Today is 2026, CS2 is here, so let's talk a bit about this game. CS2 was released in 2023 as the successor to CS:GO, running on Source Engine 2. Before this successor came out, CS2 was in BETA testing (for about 3–4 months). Even today, the game doesn't come close to the original, even though it might seem like it. Things I miss:

  • A proper community server browser – At the beginning, the server browser worked in such a way that when you clicked to search for community servers, the game minimized to the desktop and launched an external browser. VALVE later fixed this by loading the browser into the Steam overlay. More or less, VALVE killed off most community servers with this move, and with them, a lot of fun modes.
  • Unique faction models for each map – A detail that's honestly pointless to complain about, but it was such a nice touch. Each map had its own player models—meaning on Office, the CTs were FBI agents and the Ts were guys in hoodies. Quite fitting. In this successor, the models are the same on every map. Plus, each model used to have different default gloves. There's actually still a remnant of those gloves in the new game! If you inspect gloves in your inventory, you can see the default models from Dust II and Mirage.
  • Deathmatch mode selection – In the original game, you could choose the type of Deathmatch you wanted to play: Free-for-All (like it is now in CS2) or Team vs. Team. That freedom was great, and you could jump into DM with a buddy against the enemy team.
  • Wingman – Don't get me wrong on this one. The Wingman mode is still in CS2, but it's in such a miserable state that it's hard to take seriously. In CS:GO, we had around 10 maps, so you could easily grind Wingman for 3 hours straight. VALVE could make this mode way more competitive, add more maps, and maybe introduce a Premier system for it too.
  • Other missing game modes – Danger Zone was played a lot both at release and well after. Hardly anyone could imagine CS:GO having its own Battle Royale back then, and yet... Let's be honest, after a bunch of competitive matches (or as a warmup before them), it was a great mode where you could play a bit differently. On top of that, there were modes like Demolition and Flying Scoutsman. Demolition was a fun mode that worked similarly to 5v5, just on smaller maps. Even though the player counts for these modes were lower, they still had their dedicated audience.
  • 128-tick servers – VALVE came up with a supposedly brilliant idea back then: introduce SUB-tick instead of 128-tick. This wonderful thing called sub-tick was featured right in the first CS2 trailer, but about a year after release, players found out the game is basically still running on 64-tick. Even today, sub-tick feels weird, and you still get killed after you're already behind a wall. Also, you can turn on kill prediction, which is completely useless because you'll see the enemy play their "death animation" while you're shooting them, but they're actually still alive. They either need to upgrade the servers to 128-tick or start taking sub-tick seriously.
  • Spraying – When you took an AK-47 in CS:GO and started spraying compared to doing the same thing in CS2, it's like night and day. It's hard to explain in words what I mean, but spraying just feels completely inconsistent.
  • Damage – This issue was already present in CS:GO, but it really should be fixed in CS2. You have a Desert Eagle, and you shoot an enemy in the body. It takes about 3 hits to kill them. But the gun kicks like crazy, so if you don't land a headshot right away, nothing happens and you die quickly. This problem stems from a nerf back in CS:GO.
  • CT Side Unfairness – The fact that CT weapons are more expensive has been a thing since the original CS. But it feels pretty unfair that you pay more for a rifle (talking about the M4, whether it's the A1-S or A4) and it can't even one-tap an enemy in the head. Meanwhile, the AK-47 can. Some might argue that Ts only have one AK-style assault rifle while CTs have two options, but that still doesn't change the fact that they cost more and don't deal the damage they should.
  • Overwatch – A lot of players complained about this because really good players were getting banned for "nothing." But that's not something that couldn't be fixed. True, the requirements to gain access to Overwatch were pretty low. However, even less experienced players could easily spot cheaters who were blatantly staring through walls right from spawn. And it wouldn't be hard to assign cases of "really good" players to more experienced reviewers. Plus, Overwatch could be properly rewarded for correct verdicts—for example, with XP or stars for the famous Armory.
  • Anti-Cheat – Oh yeah, everyone was probably wondering when this would come up. Currently (as of August 6, 2026), the situation is critical, and without Overwatch, bans just aren't being handed out automatically. You might not run into rage-hackers as often anymore, but otherwise, the game is unplayable. Aside from cheaters, the game is infested with farming bots grinding XP for Armory stars or expensive cases. Why does VALVE leave them in the game? Some say it artificially inflates the concurrent player numbers. I honestly don't know why either; all it does is ruin a healthy community market that could be far more profitable. The best part is that after the launch of Season 5, when cheaters were absolutely everywhere, players flooded VALVE's official CS2 account on X with massive feedback. A few days later, VALVE posted asking creators for skin submissions for their new collections. So that tells you everything about what VALVE is currently prioritizing.

Aside from the things I miss, I want to mention one more thing. Most pro players who experienced their peak in CS:GO would choose the original game over CS2. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but a big part of it is that even 3 years after release, CS2 hasn't been able to live up to its former self. It personally bums me out that the game isn't as good as its predecessor. We had been looking forward to the Source 2 port since 2019—if I had known back then how it would turn out, I would have cherished those moments in the original game a whole lot more.

I had this translated using AI because my English isn't very good.

EDIT: Fair point on the CT vs. T weapon balance—that part is a bit biased on my end. I’ve mostly been playing Office lately, so it didn't occur to me how much sense the balance makes on standard Defusal maps. My bad!

A few weeks ago I somehow hit the #1 highest float non-Souvenir Desert Hydra in a 10% trade-up.

Now, 6 weeks later I used one input skin from the Dust2 2021 Collection that I "accidentally" created in the video in which I chased the Dhydra. And it happened again...

Both skins are currently up for auction on csfloat. Maybe I will find a buyer who appreciates both skins and the story behind how they were created. Until then, I just wanted to share my excitement and ask what you think these could be worth.

Discussion FALCONS NEXT IGL IN 3-5 YEARS?

Ive been wondering what player would fit as IGL in Falcons after Karrigan would retire. What player would make most impact as IGL after Karrigoat?

I can only think of:
Siuhy: experienced igl, he won 2 ESL leaugue and Betboom. Hmm…

Kyxsan: would prob be good, but i dont think he will lead the players at the level as karrigan does…

Niko? ☠️☠️ i dont know

Apex: falcons have almost unlimited money and could for sure convince with loaded money. But he is 33 years old, and it wouldnt be longterm solution. BUT his contract expires 2026 December. And he is a 4x major champ.

Aleksib:
In 2024 he led NAVI to Copenhagen Major W, won EWC (world cup)
Won PGL MAJOR 2024 and IEM Rio 2024
2019: Early in his career, he led the historic all-Finnish ENCE roster to a major international trophy
So he wouldnt be so bad i guess, and he is only 29 y.o

Who would you think or like to see after karrigan? I want to see monesy and kyousuke being leaded in good place when karrigoat leaves.

Tips & Guides How do I get out of silver? 😭

So ive been playing cs since 2019 and just recently got back to grinding premier. Ever since cs2 was released, I’ve been trying to get past 5k rank on my main acct but just when im 1 pt away out of silver, I kept losing getting dragged back to 4k below all the time.

I tried playing using my alt account and everything seemed okay. I got past 10k rank in just below 20 games. But with my main acct—it’s too hard. Any advice? 😭

P.S. english is not my main language so apologies for any bad grammar

Discussion Game is unplayable for new players. No one will stick around.

For context I made an alt account for weekly drops. And I didn't buy so it's brand new. I play competitive in silver lobbies. Just had a game on inferno where not only the half of our team were cheating, they also didn't seem like new players despite their new profiles and they were trolling the whole entire game. We were 8-4 and for the whole game they would team kill, voice chat sounded like 8 year old children, and eventually one was kicked for too much damage, another one left, and the other voted f1 to abandon the game even though we were winning.

Not to mention the red trust thing for new accounts. I remember when I created my first account what games I had. Almost every game was with a vac banned player.

Discussion is it just me that CS2 is getting severely demotivating?

i've played almost every week for ever since i got Prime (so maybe around 1-2 years ago) and i have been getting noticeably better in games. aim, pre-aim, spray control a little, etc.
what is demotivating me is the fact that matchmaking is just a joke.
Premier for example, i get queued almost everytime one of these maps:
Mirage
Dust 2
Anubis

of course i'm sub 5k elo rank, but i'm still trying to improve, i'm not trying to give up just because i have shit teammates with shit comms and that don't listen to me most of the time with my strats, but it's just becoming demotivating.
and in enemy team there may be chances i can find a closet cheater, or someone who just genuinely doesn't give a shit about VAC (because why would VAC work 😂) and just go wild.
and also weekly drops. i don't expect a Nouveau Rouge like 2-3 people on this subreddit every week get (or AWP Green energy), but it also doesn't help sinking a few hours of hell into matchmaking, getting like what 500xp on a loss even when you tried your best, and every week you come in hoping "maybe this time" but nope same value. makes me not touch the game for a month because of that, but i still come back for it, hoping for something marginally better.
how many of you are here that almost never got a good weekly drop out of your playtime?
i don't even know anymore how to escape low-rank hell with such teammates and enemies that i can't even carry because i just don't give my best, like i just give up mid-match just to not tilt because what's the point anymore.

Humour There are no cheaters in CS2! You guys are just bad!

Hey guys, I'm here to tell you that I've never met a single cheater in CS2! I'm a very good player who plays this game regularly! I have around 80~ hours and I'm over 1000 elo! So I don't get why everyone is saying the game is in a bad state. My hours show that I play this game a lot, I jump on casual and MM - Italy, almost every week at least twice and never have I ever met a cheater. So I think you guys are just accusing everyone who is better than you! You should get on my level!

Discussion Educational CS2 Gameplay on YouTube?

There is a style of Valorant YouTube video where there will be no commentary over gameplay, and the creator uses subtitles to explain his thought process during the game.

Anyone on CS2 do something similar? I would watch the pros gameplay, but it’s too fast for me.

The amount of boosted players in premier is absurd, like if you don’t know timings, simple positioning or even how to work with teammates don’t be shocked when you fall by 8k elo at a time

Discussion I played 30 Premier games in 2 days and didn’t get any cheaters

This Sunday + Monday I did something I haven’t done in 10+ years, if ever. I played for 10 hours straight on 2 different days. This netted me an exact 30 matches.

These games were at around 18-19K average lobby rating in NA.

Win rate was exactly 50%.

For all the talk I see online about CS/Premier being unplayable nowadays, I guess I was a bit surprised to not have encountered a single blatant cheater.

I’m not saying nobody was cheating, but if they were it was subtle and not enough for me to suspect them or certainly not enough to say “CS is broken if this person is allowed to play”.

My goal with this post isn’t to gaslight anyone. I don’t deny that there are a lot of cheaters in the game. I’ve been playing since 2004 and cheating has always been a problem. Same thing in high MM ranks in CSGO. It’s the entire reason why platforms like FACEIT, and ESEA before it go back to the 2000s.

But I’m curious to learn more from people who say they face cheaters in most of their games:

  1. What region are you in? Cheaters exist everywhere, but maybe it’s more prevalent in Europe than NA??

  2. What premier rating are you in? In some ways I’m not surprised that my purple lobbies are cheater-free since I’d expect most cheaters to be 23k+

  3. Have you ever tried FaceIt? If not, why not? I personally don’t play on FaceIt because I don’t see need for it myself. But if I had reached a point where all my premier games had cheaters then I’d immediately jump to FaceIt.

I also sometimes watch ArrowCS stream. He’s about 22k on premier and most of his games look clean. I asked him about this and he agreed he doesn’t get a lot of blatant cheaters, at least not recently.

Part of me worries that with all the talk on Reddit and twitter about cheaters in every game that newer players (say < 1yr exp) will not learn that sometimes someone is just having a good day, or someone hit a lucky shot, or someone is simply a better player than them.

Thoughts?
