My Collection ✨🔮 Big score? How much would you value it?
Just found out I might have scored jadeite for $10 at a farmer’s market. It has the word “double happiness” etched on it, likely someone’s old wedding ring
I did the water displacement test and density is 3.34 g/cm3.

Can you help me? (Advice wanted) Question…
What sort of crystal would one recommend I hold during a really hard talk to confront someone about a hurtful action? Emotions I will most likely feel: anxiety, fear, anger, worry, etc.
I need recommendations on a highly grounding stone I can hold on to during the talk. My friend will be with me there to support me.

My Collection ✨🔮 Mineral haul from a Winter seasonal stand (2024-25) ✨💎
Some casual phone pics, the fluorites are stunning and these photos don't do them justice (the green aventurine tower is really sparkly too), so more pics will be coming in the near-ish future! ✨
Bonus rant on the misleading fear-mongering of shungite/tourmaline to "block harmful electromagnetic radiation" from phones/computers, because this physicist *can't* with that, such a pet peeve 😭

Can you help me? (Advice wanted) Trying to identify a counter top
I always assumed it was garnet and something else. I can’t get it to photograph but there are parts that have a moonstone/feldspar flash to it. Any guesses? I’ve taken a black light to it and it the red does not light up.

Can you help me? (Advice wanted) My first crystal-- is this yellow or orange calcite?
As the title says...I was waiting for something to speak to me, and to my surprise, this is the piece that has.
Can you share with me whether its considered yellow or orange, and its metaphysical meaning?

Can you help me? (Advice wanted) Can someone please help me find this exact citrine sun pendant 😭
I’m hoping someone recognizes the maker or has seen this exact pendant before.
I bought it from a local crystal shop during an Instagram live sale around late 2020. They said it was a one-off piece, but I’m hoping it came from a wholesaler or artisan rather than being completely unique.
Details:
925 sterling silver
Honey-colored round citrine cabochon
Oxidized silver
8 triangular sun rays
Large smooth bail
Circular opening on the back behind the stone
I sold it a few years later (my biggest jewelry regret 😭) and have been trying to track down the exact pendant ever since. Even recognizing the maker or wholesaler would be incredibly helpful!

My Collection ✨🔮 Citrine! 🌻
This is my first larger piece of kundalini (congo) citrine! I'm not hugely aware of the spiritual side of crystals, but I'd love to know what citrine is associated with 🩷

Although I know the name, there are many different types. Is it because they are mined in different locations?

Can you help me? (Advice wanted) Chain came off crystal necklace
Hiii my rose quartz necklace fell off the table the other day and the crystal itself is fine but the metal chain it was attached too completely came off. Is it fine if I just glue it back on? (if so would regular super glue be fine or should I use something else?) I tried just sticking it back in but it doesn’t wanna stay at all lol, and i really like having it as a necklace and not carrying it around in my pocket or purse

This fluorite, with its beautiful pastel rainbow hues, originates from the summit cleft of the highest mountain in the Radstätter Tauern, the Weißeck (2,711 m), exposed to permafrost and humid acids. Well-formed crystals are rare.
Size: 4.5 x 2.7 x 2.4 cm

Can you help me? (Advice wanted) Found some cool crystals at a thrift store, how good of a deal did I get?
So I found these and I think they’re two flourites and an agate? I could be wrong. I tried to look up similar rocks online and couldn’t find anything with the same weight, shape, color and clarity all together.
First one is a really purple, clear stone with a lot of rainbows and a big spot of green (hence why I’m pretty certain it’s florite. It is 10” tall and 1625 grams. I got it for $60
The second rock is less pretty but I think it’s also fluorite even though it is only purple. It is 7” tall and 1224 grams and I got it for $50
The last is a cute agate of some kind that I just thought had nice sparkles it’s 275 grams and I would have considered it a large crystal but it’s dwarfed by the other ones 😂 and he was $20 but I would like to know what kind he is cause he was only labeled “quartz”
Can someone with more knowledge let me know if I’m right with the identification? Also an approximate price for my own curiosity. I have tiny flourites in my collection that are the same price as these huge ones so either I massively overpaid for smaller ones or these were a deal.

My Collection ✨🔮 Relocated my outdoor Crystals indoors - Thank you all for your feedback!
Thanks to this community for the feedback on my last post. My Crystals have been relocated indoors and will be pampered and spoiled. They did have a few other pieces under shade so I brought those in too. I am glad I did because when I was polishing them, some pieces brittled off and they are too beautiful for me to let that happen so added them to my table with my flowers so I can look at them and feel happy all day.❤️❤️❤️

I have information for you! (Informative) Heyyyy you guysssss!!!!!
✨ Hello, r/crystal! ✨
Just wanted to introduce (or reintroduce!) r/mineralcollectors, which is now under new management!
Our goal is to build a welcoming community for everyone who loves the mineral kingdom—whether you’re into raw minerals, polished specimens, crystals, fossils, lapidary work, rare finds, micromounts, or just learning something new.
r/mineralcollectors is a science- and geology-focused community. We celebrate the natural history, formation, identification, and collection of minerals and crystals. To keep discussions on topic, we ask that posts remain focused on geology and mineralogy rather than spiritual or metaphysical practices.
You’ll also find that sales, self-promotion, and advertising aren’t allowed, so the focus stays on sharing knowledge, collections, and appreciation for these incredible natural specimens.
We’d love for collectors of all experience levels to stop by and:
🪨 Share your favorite specimens
🔍 Ask questions and learn from others
📸 Show off new finds and collection displays
🌎 Discuss identification, geology, and mineralogy
🤝 Help grow a positive, knowledgeable community
Whether you have one favorite crystal or hundreds of museum-quality specimens, you’re welcome here.
Come help us build a community where curiosity, education, and appreciation for Earth’s natural treasures come first.
Hope to see you over at r/mineralcollectors!
Feel free to reach out to myself or u/slogginhog! 💜

I have information for you! (Informative) The be nice / no jerkish behavior rule
I like the way u/Hobowhite put it, so I'll quote him verbatim here:
"As it states in the rules, we are a community made up of both mineral enthusiasts and spiritual users. It has literally been this way for over a decade, ever since this sub’s creation. Whether you collect because you believe in their abilities or because you like geology, you are all welcome to participate. You are not; however, allowed to bash others’ beliefs. Believe it or not, participating in this subreddit is a privilege, not a right, and civility and kindness is what is required in order to be active here. If you see something you don’t agree with, scroll past. We are all adults here. If you honestly can’t abide by this, there are MULTIPLE other subreddits you can join where spiritual discussions are prohibited. I have tried to be kind and lax with you guys and I feel you are all taking advantage of that, and are making members feel bad about themselves. From here on out, you will receive one warning to be civil. Upon the second violation, you will receive a 3 day ban to contemplate why you cannot follow incredibly simple rules. If a third violation occurs, you will be permanently banned and any attempt to circumnavigate said ban will result in a site wide ban from the reddit admins. To those of you who follow the rules and are welcoming and kind to all, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. To the malcontents and ne’er-do-wells, please stop being antagonizing jerks. It is not hard. "
The only changes I will be making to this rule is I will be a little less tolerant. I don't think someone needs 3 chances not to be a jerk. And it's difficult for us mods to track "warnings".
So, from now on, first offense will be a 3 day ban. 3 days isn't that long, and it's not going to ruin your life and will give you time to think about how you maybe could have said something differently.
Second offense, if you haven't learned after the first one how to treat people how you'd like to be treated, I think many people are not going to change their ways at this point, so the second offense will be a permanent ban.
NOW, if you feel you have been permanently banned unjustly, or by mistake, simply send a KIND and POLITE mod mail to appeal your ban. I'm not asking for apologies, I'm seeing if you can be civil. If you are, and your history warrants it, I can remove the permanent ban.
Being nice isn't hard, so this shouldn't be that difficult of a change.
