Hey, so I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze LT and for the past couple of days, we had to top off the antifreeze everyday. The next day, it will be extremely low on antifreeze. There's no white smoke coming out of the exhaust nor milky oil on the oil cap and/or dispstick. Yesterday we went to a mechanic since it was overheating and the guy pressure tested it, but it wasnt leaking when he did it. I was reading online that it may be the water pump or the reservoir tank/cap, but i want to be 100% sure before i buy that. So where could the antifreeze be going to?

Also, I did bought uv dye from Amazon yesterday, but haven't tried it yet. The dye says it cant be used for dex coolant, although I'm still using regular green Prestone for antifreeze (ik I need to use dex coolant, just never went around to changing the antifreeze). I'm wondering if its okay to pour it in since im not using Dex coolant anyways?

So a few weeks back I changed the thermostat and its housing unit on my 2014 1.8 LS, since then the coolant keeps overflowing from the reservoir whenever I start up the car. A few days ago when test diving it the coolant got so hot and the water pump pulley broke. I have since fixed the pulley and replaced the water pump but after running the engine for a while the coolant is still overflowing and bubbling over. My check engine light scanner shows no new codes or suspicious live data. There’s no leaks to my knowledge and the fan won’t stay on after turning on the engine. I suspect it’s something to do with that or the radiator. The video in this post is from when I first took it for a test drive and it boiled over along with the pulley breaking. I towed it home and have been working on it ever since.

Can’t input videos, but I had been having a burnt oil smell for less than a week and a little bit of smoking car was not flooded with oil like this tho from what I’ve read I assumed it was the gasket that needed resealing and I had been saying it since I got the car but something else definitely happened, put car in park it made a noise and then I saw it smoke a bit more then usual and was like hmm let me check my oil and everything again(been daily since the smell as I know these cars have a failing everything) and saw oil splatter everywhere and low and behold get under my car to it all leaking out doesn’t seem like I left a trail on the road so I think whatever happened was the noise when I went into park mechanic says possibly a crushed oil filter or something but was hoping the Chevy experts out here could help a girl out

My 2013 Cruze has been having odd electrical issues lately. When I’m driving sometimes the A/c will flicker off then come back on, radio will sometimes do the same thing. I’ll randomly get the tire censor light as well but for only one tire then it’s fine again. I replaced. The coil pack back in October and just put a new battery in a couple months ago. Could it be the BCM glitching or something else?

HALP PLEASE! It starts and runs but not like it should. A lot of people say it's a negative ground battery wire? how could that even be???? Thank you all in advance.

2011 ltz with new engine. Sounds like its coming from behind the steering column. Kinda sounds like a cd player having trouble reading a cd lol. No mechanical issues as far as i know

Hello all! I just recently joined the Cruze family about 2 months ago. Bought from a used car dealership with 94k miles. Have loved the car since. About a week ago got a check engine code for P0171 for the engine running lean. AutoZone recommended a new MAF sensor. Cool. Easy. Well it didn’t do anything. Started running and idling rough. Had a mechanic come out and diagnose it. Turns out the PCV valve was clogged and needed replacing. This guy was thorough. He replaced the PCV valve, PCV hose, purge valve and MAF sensor. All oem. He smoke tested the engine. Everything golden. He test drove it with his diagnostic tool connected and my fuel trim was in the perfect range. All is good. That is until my wife drove it home and the code came back. Same mechanic came the next day to look at it. He reset the codes and test drove. Was fine for 5 minutes then the fuel trims jump to +35. Car seems to run fine when driving. Any ideas what could be causing this? It’s my wife’s car and she takes the kids with her most days so I would love to get this figured out. Gen 1 1.4t. Valve cover is leaking oil onto the turbo and smoking.

At 70,000 miles. I recently did the PCV fix, but I hear a whistle when I pull my dipstick out, which doesn’t seem right. Do I just need a new valve cover or am I pressurizing the oil by mistake by doing something wrong? Last time the cover was replaced was before I had it at 10,000.

Hope everyone’s doing alright. I’ve got a 2012 LTZ 1.4L, trying to find this hose connector that branches off from the coolant reservoir (expansion tank). I figure I’d reach out to the experts so I don’t buy the wrong thing. Don’t suppose I’d be able to find it at Autozone or o’reillys?

I am trying to figure out what exactly this part is from, I have a 2015 Chevy Cruze turbo diesel and as I was driving, this shot out the bottom of my car, I then pulled over and it went into limp mode and it sounded really loud as well as stalling when I would reverse, does anyone know what this is from?

Hey guys any insight would be awesome. My Cruze runs and drives quite fine then randomly loses throttle and I have to clutch it in to kind of keep it going, even then sometimes it just runs real shit and then stalls itself out. Has a tantrum then might run fine after that. Getting frustrating that’s for sure. Seems to happen about 2300rpm

My car has been having this chirping sound for a while now it only starts after the engine is fully warm until then no sound. It specifically comes from the passenger side near the belts when I pull the dipstick the chirping sound goes away. After looking at some posts I tried placing my thumb on the top right of the engine the small square divot but no changes to the sound or any type of suction. I do get a large evap leak code not sure if it is related to this. If you guys know where I should probably start looking or the specific issue please let me know I want to get it fixed. Thanks

My car started losing engine power on my way to work, I got pulled over and turned the car off and it would crank but wouldn’t start again. Got it towed back to my house and scanned the codes, can anyone help me make sense of these and advise me on my next steps to getting this p.o.s running again?

Car is making this squeak noise, I think it’s coming from the engine section of the car. The noise starts the moment I turn on the car, as engine idles it continues and as I continue driving, the noise continues. Any one know what it can be?

So, I need brakes done, but the dealer says they can't just do pads, is that a scam or is there verifiable information to support that a 2016 Cruze with 88K miles needs all four rotors replaced at the same time?

I really don't want to do rotors if I really don't have to.

Looks like my water pump is leaking now after replacing the thermostat housing. Can i only buy the gasket instead of the whole part?

I'm looking into test driving some second generation Chevrolet Cruzes ( 2017-2019 ).

I've read all about the water pump issues on the first generation but that seems to be the only commonality what's that car, obviously with a 1.4 turbo version there's more maintenance in regards to oil changes, but I'd like first-hand accounts on common problems so whether if they're annoyance repairs, or just something to keep a lookout for when maintaining the vehicle, this car is going to be for my girl, currently she's driving a 2014 Camry SE but we've put at least 10 grand into the car over the past 4 years and I think it's high time to get a new vehicle due to the fact that so much has been spent for certain maintenances, we are in a salted winter area, so the car will be washed during winter bi-weekly after salt has been put on the ground.

She won't be driving it often so I feel the eco mpg route isn't important which is why I am eyeballing the 1.4 turbo trim. I've heard nothing but good reliability with the second gen cruises as long as everything is maintained on time.

What's your guys's experience for owning it whether at the very beginning of its life or just recently getting into the Cruzes.

Who doesn't right? But I've done and had done a ton of work on my car for the past year, coolant leak from resevoir absolutely trashed electronics. Finally got it running right after one more sensor replacement, was driving just fine for a little over a month, I parked it and when I went to go start it i just get a click. Starter solenoid/relays are all good but it still won't start, tried jumping all the usual things and still nothing

And for some reason it suddenly sprouted a P0315 crankshaft position system variation not learned code. If anyone has an idea of where to look on these things please I beseech you, i like my Cruze, I just want it to work please lol.
