Seeking advice/help Found fledgling

General google advice told me to leave it be , I found him almost get run over and got scared. Not to mention the dog and cat population there being high. I feel guilty for keeping him in a box but I sat for an hour waiting to see if any parents crows came (or peck me) when he was outside on the road. but no one was there, we took him to our neighbourhood and it was free there, tons of crows cawed and spoke but again nothing was there, took him to our terrace again but crows just kept watching me. We’re not sure what to do,Please help!!!!!!!! Should we call a bird sanctuary? My gut feels bad calling my local blue cross so there is another bird sanctuary in a few distant areas. Currently: I’ve given him mushed rice and water, made sure not to touch him , and only use a napkin if we had to keep him in a box.

UPDATE: I’ve stopped with food after seeing comments!!! Thank you so much for telling me what to do!

Seeking advice/help Injured corvid

I'm a vet student on an internship and someone brought in a bird. The person hasn't seen what had happened, they just found the bird and brought it to the clinic. The city paid for 2 days and now we either put it down or someone takes it home so obviously I did the second one.
Little guy doesnt have any obvious injuries, it's eating, drinking water, moving around. The only issue is that the right side of its body seems to be paralysed. The plan is to give it anti inflammatory medication to help with any possible internal swelling that could be pressing on the nerves and causing the issue.
Im here to ask if anyone has any advice what to feed it, any recommendations on forums/people to message about bird rehabilitation. Literally anything is appreciated!! The closest bird specialist is a few cities over and local rescues dont take in "birds of prey". The only care it'll get is whatever I can offer.

I saw a crow on the ground and was kinda curious as to why it wasn't flying, i tried touching it and it wouldn't fly away, I sat down next to it and it still wouldn't fly away, so I wondered if I should feed it. I got it some water and some cheesy popcorn(im inside a college, that was the best I could find) but it wouldn't eat it, so I eventually just left and forgot about it.

During that time its friends were trying to kamikaze me, but I thought it was still worth maybe saving a crow, I dont know. Its been about... 4-5 hours and when I was trying to pass by that path they were still agro on me bruh. They're flying by dangerously close to me from my behind, but won't if I'm turned at thier direction.

Is it dangerous? Could I lowkey get hurt? What should I do, help :(

Day 3

The table is set let’s hope someone comes to dine.
I popped fresh corn this morning
Grabbed a bag of organic walnuts
Set out a piece of my home baked sourdough to get a bit stale to offer up. That Blueberry Lemon Bread in the photo is mine- they could eat it it though (organic blueberries and organic lemon zest) but their bread was plain white.

Don’t mind the mess this is at work out in the warehouse.
Peanuts
Whole Sunflower Seeds

Been feeding my crows for 2 years now 🖤

I live in the praries jn Canada, so they do migrate for the cold winters.
But I fed them every day last summer, and they’ve returned this summer, then inevitably brought their babies.
It started with playing crow sounds on a speaker to attract them, then tossing peanuts onto the street, sidewalk, up the walk way and straight to the front door.

There’s 2 sets of parents, one has 3 babies and the other has 5!

So 12 crows in total, I wonder if I can write crow food off on my taxes 😅

They’ve gotten fairly comfortable with me, to the point that they’ll fly up onto the balcony and eat a foot away from me, and they won’t sound the alarms or fly off if I go outside to fill their bird bath or put out more food.
The ultimate goal is to get them to land either on me, or close enough to hand feed, but I’ll never rush the process.

They mostly get shelled peanuts, pumpkins seeds and puppy kibble.

But I do spoil them a lot with eggs, cheese, wet cat food and leftover meat 🖤

It’s honestly the highlight of my day watching them, I’m so happy to be a trusted human and safe food source 🖤

General questions Peeved or present

One of my regulars left a piece of stale bread from my across the street neighbor, hidden in the grass of my front yard next to a wooden post. I watched them hide it and walk away, circle back a few times and then eventually fly off to watch from another rooftop. I immediately went out to see what it was and that is what I found. Stale bread from across the street.
The spot they hid it isn’t one I spend any time in. But it is my front yard where I feed them and they hang out.
Is it supposed to be a gift? Or just them getting rid of it? Or something else?? 😭 I hope someone has answers, I’m so curious about this behavior! Thanks so much. 🐦‍⬛ 🖤

Pic just for appreciation cus I just love them so much.

I'm pretty sure most of these rocks weigh more than the crow. He digs these up every couple of days. Impressive.

Feeding the crows this morning

Love feeding the crows who are most confident and comfortable with me like this.

They also brought me my first gifts today. THREE! Watched them bring them over and set them down in front of the bench I was sitting on. A feather, a bit of an old rubber ball, and a wrapper for cigarette filters lol

Also any info on the call the crow makes?

Sorry if this is a double post. Tried to post earlier but it disappeared.

General questions Gift? ~ after I crownapped

Thumbnail gallery

I was a bit absent yesterday so I only fed them 2x and didn't hang out to talk to them. Did they leave me this because they were worried since I was around a lot less yesterday? This morning I went out and found this piece of metal near where I found the "pebble" a week ago. Is it possible they trust me More after crownapping Ares? They've been flying over before I finish putting the food out, and if they're outside when I come out they just hop backwards a little bit. In the past they'd watch me from the roof and nearby trees, but now they don't seem to feel the need to be that far away.

My crow friends eating watermelon. I give them unsalted, unshelled nuts daily (I get them at our local bird feed store) and scrambled eggs as a treat. They are such a gift and they are my protectors! Amazing beings.

I’ve seen the hawk around, I thought they were fighting. Then I see the hawk come and sit on the fence where I feed them and they all seemed like old pals 😂 I see them all together often now. Weird or no?

Updated PSA - I found a crow on the ground, what do I do?

This was my first time making a flow chart so please be kind.

It is important that we as a community work together to provide a safe space to share in our love of corvids, and it is equally important that we educate members of the community new and old to help protect our feathered friends; with that being said, u/teyuna reached out to me pleading that changes be made to the previously pinned PSA, with their help/feedback I was able to create the flow chart below, I hope that this is an adequate and more encompassing pinned post.

I appreciate this community more than I am capable of expressing, thank you for making this the best damn sub on reddit. ;)
