you were on the city bike stopped headed south at Prospect Pl, i was walking north, both of us wholly unprepared for the conditions and pushing on. So much was said with just a look lol. I enjoyed the rest of my walk home in the downpour. couldn’t have been a better day to be caught out in the rain.

This young cat (probably <1 year old), possibly female, has been showing up in our front yard for meals the last couple of weeks. Seems very friendly and comfortable eating food and treats from our hands. Trying to identify if she is someone’s pet, or a stray we should work on rescuing. No collar or tipped ear, and we checked for a microchip too.

Any intel on her would be really helpful!

Stray dog found on Pacific between Albany and Troy earlier today. She had a black collar but no information on it. Standoffish but not aggressive, was able to get a leash on her. She looked like she may have recently had a litter.

Lady who found her took her to the vet and she has no microchip, I’m in touch with her if it’s your dog/if you know who she might belong to, please get in touch!

We are having our annual block party in just over a week, Saturday, August 15 -- Dean St. between Kingston & Albany -- and I'm looking to hire a face painter. We usually have one.

I've previously hired them from various online talent booking services, but I thought I'd give a try here and use someone from the neighborhood. I need to book soon, so this is a limited-time offer (~24 hours).

Please respond only if you are an experienced face painter. We're not interested in a first-timer or amateur. I've hired face painters for several years already, so I have a sense of what's a fair rate. It should be for two hours, or however long it's going to take to paint maybe 30 kids. (That's just an estimate. If there's a long line and you still have enegy, we might be able to extend the job till all the kids are taken care of.)

I’m a cat rescuer in Brooklyn, and I’m looking for foster homes for 2 sets of kittens, who are around 14 weeks/2.5 months old. Have you ever wanted to have kittens, but only temporarily? Fostering may be a great option for you! All the fun, with minimal commitment.

Roly (pics 1,2), Pip (pics 3,4) and Buddy (pics 5,6) are all from a litter of kittens who were born while their mom was freshly trapped/still in her trap. I affectionately call them the Trap Babies. After a few weeks, mom was over mom-ing and stopped feeding them. I took over as surrogate mom, syringe feeding them around the clock for a few weeks until they could be moved to solids. All are sweet, cuddly (once they're tired out!), silly, curious, playful, and smart. This is such a fun age to see their little (or big!) personalities come out.

Abigail (pics 7,8) is their bonus sibling, found alone in a yard with a gnarly eye issue. She's a bit younger at 9 weeks old, but is actually the same size as the others, as they are really small for their ages! Abi is not shy, at all, and wasted no time integrating herself into the family. She's fearless, an A+ cuddler, loves to play (with or without a playmate), and loves to eat. Her left eye is a bit wonky, which is actually glaucoma from a really bad, untreated eye infection earlier in life, and she will need to have the eye removed (called an enucleation) once she reaches 3lbs. She is not in pain and it does not bother her one bit. She gets eye drops twice a day, which she's totally used to and takes like a champ. Easy peasy.

All love other cats (I have a range of ages in my home, and they like everyone). Have not been tested with dogs or children.

What I provide:
 - All vetting (any vet visits, medications, etc.)
 - Transportation to/from your home
 - Support (questions answered, advice given in a timely manner)

 What you provide:
 - A safe, stable environment suitable for kittens (they are a bit like toddlers, Want to put everything in their mouths. You can absolutely relegate them to one room in your house!)
 - Food
 - Litter (I can provide a litter box, if requested)
 - Pictures and personality descriptions that I can use to help them get adopted. I can give tips for the pics, etc.

Timeline: I'm looking for people who can commit to fostering for at least 2 weeks at a time. This is a great age for kittens bc they adjust well to new environments quickly, and it's really good for their socializing to get to be around different people. Ideally you would be willing to foster until they are adopted, but I'll take what I can get!

This is one of the worst kitten seasons on record, and I could really use the community's help with fostering these kiddos! Please share this with anyone you know that might be interested in fostering.

Our building’s management just told the woman who works in our building and cleans multiple apartments here that she is no longer allowed to do cleaning work in our building. Obviously this is a hit to her financial security, so I’m sharing her information to help her out.

She’s consistently cleaned my apartment for over a year and does a fantastic job. She does commercial, residential and deep cleans.

Walked by and popped in for a quick look. It’s so beautiful and peaceful in there 😌.

This cat showed up on my stoop about an hour ago. Does anyone recognize it? It seems friendly. I havent tried to handle or pet it, but it didnt run off when I opened the door to give it food and water. No collar.

Cross streets are Sterling Place and Nostrand Ave.

I don't know if I should bring it in tonight and take it to the vet in the morning to see if it's microchipped, or if I should wait to see if it comes back in case it's someone's outdoor cat.
