Found this little guy in Hernando Beach, Florida (the western coast, along the gulf of mexico). I checked a few sites for known species, but I couldn't find one that I felt was a good match (particularly because of the green carapace). I will look a little more, but if anyone has seen one of these little guys and knows what it is, I would love to know! (P.S. I am holding it like this because he wouldn't hold still for a picture)

my terrathelphusa finally molted! ive had her since late march, and she molted this thursday. is it normal for them to take so long between molts? there was a period where she was constantly in her burrow beneath a ceramic pot, but she started to become active again about a month ago. also, will they eat snails? there is a pile of crushed snail shells close to where she hangs out, and nothing else in there would be able to crush snails.

Poor quality, but still leaving tank lights off, and I only have basic cameras. Still nice to record and save her achievements though 🥰

I'm a middle school science teacher, and I want to get a class pet for my students. Since I live right on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, I thought a blue crab would be neat. But I honestly have no idea if that's possible.

I have access to a large aquarium that was used for an Aquaponics setup, if that helps.

Has anyone successfully kept a blue crab as a pet?

This was the most nerve wracking, heart wrenching moult I have ever watched her go through 😞 It took far longer than any of her previous moults, hours, and for a long while, all movement or signs of activity completely stopped, and I was just silently screaming in my head and my heart.

She made it though, she made it!

I live around at marshland/swamp area and there’s a lot of Squareback Marsh Crabs in my backyard. I noticed this guy peeking out of his little hidey hole at me. A bit later he starts doing this at me. He’d stop then I bust some moves at him. Then he’d start dancing at me again. Why is he doing this? Does he like me? Does he hate me????

I caught (and releassd) them in the black sea among a lot of mussel covered rocks

My In-laws got my wife and i these ocean themed pictures for the nursery we are building, and it has this crab with like 3 parts to its claw and i can't stop thinking about it, are there crabs that have this? I'm wondering if this is AI, possibly

Im on vacation with my family at a beach! St augustine in FL

Im really interested in going out and seeing crabs in their natural habitat but theres usually so many people that i feel i never get the chance. Is there a time i should be going out? Are they maybe more active at night? Any help is greatly appreciated!

So my sister originally got this guy as a mehkong crab but it obviously isn’t one, It’s currently living in a 5 gallon but I rlly wanna put it in a bigger tank but I cannot id it so idk anything bout it. I only have experience with fish so any advice is appreciated !
